Rin Tohsaka ALIAS HERE BASIC INFORMATION NAME: Rin Tohsaka (Kaguya) AGE: 15 GENDER: Female BIRTHDAY: April 15th VILLAGE: Kirigakure CLAN: Kaguya RANK: Chuunin POSITION: Academy Instructor OTHER ALIAS:
Kaguya’s Coward: A title given by the members of the Kaguya clan, and her father especially. This is because throughout her life and despite gruelling training given to her Rin has never quite fit in with the clan or their commonplace desire to fight. She’d prefer to read a book and avoid the front lines. This attitude toward her only amplified when she took a teaching position instead of launching herself into the fray of battles and missions like her peers.
The Golden Shadow: A title given to her during her Genin days that remained throughout her time as a Shinobi. It was given to her as she tended to go toward the stealth option, tailoring her own fighting style toward that and the ninjutsu she learns that are not clan related. Her constant time staying in the background or in the Shadows, combined with her bright golden hair lead to this title. APPEARANCE HEIGHT: 5'1"/155 cm WEIGHT: 92.5 lbs/41 kg
Rin is a young woman of a mere five feet one inch tall with pale skin and a slender yet muscular form showing that she has dedicated much to training herself yet not overly so, she looks healthy to put it simply. Rin has long sun-golden hair that cascades down to her mid back though is more often then not tied up in either a Ponytail or a bun, often with dark blue ribbons. Her eyes are a bright vibrant green, almost like emeralds in the midsts of pixie like soft features.
When it comes to her clothes choices it really depends on what she’s doing. For something as simple as casual school lessons at the Academy she will wear white shirts of varying design and dark pants or even skirts, it really depends. When on a mission she will often opt for clothes that will allow her to blend in to her surroundings. Tending toward dark blues and blacks when on missions
PERSONALITY NINDO: "Stay hidden, stay alive.” "Get them before they get you.” "There’s nothing wrong with knowing when to retreat.” "Stealth and deceit are a ninja’s best tools and closest comrades.”

HISTORY Rin was born a few years before the battle that would take Kirigakure’s Sandaime Mizukage to the Kaguya clan to a branch that was particularly well known for holding their bloodline. Her parents were loyal to the Kaguya clan, her mother having married into while her father was born into it. Much like Kaguya’s other members they had followed after the Daimyo and his attempt to take control of Kiri-in which their child would be born during such the time. They believed he was in the right and much like their fellows they trained and fought for the Daimyo and his goals.
Rin, even before she could remember was subjected to inhuman torturous training by her parents, such that they kept t from the other members of the clan: She would be forced to run laps till she couldn’t move her legs anymore, to push and strain her body too the point of collapse and even beyond that. Her father’s idea of Sparring involved pulling out his own bones and showing her the way he used their Kekkei Genkai and how he expected her to do the same. Then when she was nearly four years old, the Daimyo’s loyal forces killed the Mizukage and an all out war broke out.
Rin, though young was expected to fight against Kiri’s forces as the rivers ran red with blood, as the streets became littered with bodies both of Kiri and Daimyo forces: It was a horrendous sight and if she could unsee it, go back in time and prevent her mother and father from having her join the fighting forces as so many other children had done she surely would have.
It was during these fights that Rin would come to discover or rather hone a skill she rather liked, that of stealth. She could hit her targets if she planned right, worked hard and kept hidden. Fellow Kaguya fell around her, some young like herself and some older- her uncle died right in front of her. Death surrounded them and it was horrible!
But, if Rin stayed hidden as best she could, used her tiny child’s size and small spaces adults couldn’t fit into she could survive and survive she did! Her parents had drilled her, trained her till she couldn’t move anymore and beyond so, though this was it’s own brand of hell the pain and fear were nothign new.
The battles and war lasted another few years, ending with al final battle at the Daimyo’s castle in which he, and many others met their ends: Kirigakure was hurting for forces and so the defected clans including Kaguya were allowed to return. Thus Rin found herself living within the village she had been trained to fight against for so long.
Immediately upon entering the village, restrictions placed upon their clan not withstanding the child was enrolled in the Ninja Academy to learn- not that she thought she needed to given her past experience of course. When outside of the Academy Rin’s training with her parents continued though now she had more reason to hide what was happening and so did they. Her parents training methods had only gotten worse with time and as she grew older, they had noticed that the fighting had not impressed upon the girl in the way they had wished it to: She became cautious, careful and relied too much on stealth and long ranged ninjutsu, clan Ninjutsu other otherwise; she had become weak and they couldn’t allow that to go on. No one questioned the few bruises the girl had that they could see, nor the bruised ribs that had mostly been healed thanks to her mother’s specialty, Medical Ninjutsu. After all, without proof the word of a child didn’t mean much to a village that had just dealt with war, especially the word of a Kaguya child to certain Shinobi within the village, not that she had thought to complain anyway.
The Sanbi attacked the village for reasons Rin didn’t know and much like many Academy Students she had been put in charge of evacuation; even the forces of Kiri, short on Shinobi as they were knew that kids couldn’t stand up to the creature upon it’s rampage.
The village was largely spared destruction thankfully though yet again they lost their Kage, Rin didn’t quite know what to think of that honestly seeing as she was more focusing on surviving her daily life then who ran the village.
Being within the Kaguya family though strong as she was for a child Rin’s cowardly nature often made her a target for many other’s bullying, a fact which though she tried not to let it bother her, still managed to. Her grades in the Academy were okay and by the time she reached age 12 she had found herself graduating and becoming a ninja: That was fine, she didn’t mind that she supposed though she knew she had no choice in the matter however, though time had passed the wariness of the Kaguya still remained, some concerned that the clan would try another coupe. Her Jounin Sensei would prove to be one of those wary people, one so well known for said wariness that some Kaguya children worried about having him as their teacher and Rin, even before graduation had decided to change her name, letting her Clan Name fall by the wayside in her own heart to take on her mother’s maiden name instead: Better be careful then find yourself with someone who would let you die simply because they didn’t like your clan after all.
Of course that didn’t mean this wouldn’t be figured out with the use of her clan techniques in battle, or that her Sensei didn’t already know who she was… but she didn’t know that at the time. Thankfully the man didn’t just let her die the several times it could have almost happened simply because of her Clan and its reputation in the past.He had more pride then that as a Teacher.
The man, a member of the Yuki clan nurtured and trained his team, going out of his way to ensure that the three Genin could handle themselves. He, unlike almost everyone else in Rin’s life saw her lack of Genjutsu prowess, saw how she tried to rely on Stealth yet hesitated to do so and he spoke to her, like a real person instead of a disappointment like her parents did. He too knew a thing or two about stealth and would make time to train her so that she might improve on her own technique; the same thing he did with his other students in individual sessions when he had the time: For a Genin Team’s Sensei he went above and beyond what Rin would ever have expected for a teacher to do for her.
Genin missions, as expected were mostly boring but over time they were completed and the team grew, each falling into their specialty of choice rather well, their teamwork improving and their confidence growing at least a little bit. Then it came time for the Chuunin Exams.
Surprisingly the first test wasn’t as hard as she had thought it was meant to be, her entire team passing even if just barely before moving on to the second stage. The battles within that, the need to survive and make it to a certain destination gave the girl an odd sensation, as though returning to hte fights of her youth and it was something that bothered her, none the less the team succeeded in that one as well.
The final stage however proved to be a bit more difficult with the Genjutsu specialist in their team was taken down rather quickly and would fail and Rin herself found her stealth skills put to the test as it were. She had been put against someone who worked best at close range and that had become a quick problem for her despite her durability from her Kekkei Genkai and her own practice against her other remaining teammate who’s skills lay in Taijutsu above all. She won however, if only just barely managing to keep away from her opponent and snipe him from small hiding spots she had found. It helped that her Sensei had made sure she could fight close range better then she had been able to, and that she had grown used to people much larger and stronger hitting her growing up; the pain was manageable when coming from a slightly muscled sixteen year old even if she herself was only 14.
In the end the girl and the close ranged specialist of her team were able to pass and rank up to Chuunin, though their Genjutsu specialist companion was not so lucky for the time being; Rin was almost happy he didn’t pass, if only because it kept a friend of herself closer to the village proper, a friend she wouldn’t have to see join the lists f the dead that had amassed in her head over her short lifetime: her family had really screwed her up when it came to those she was close to, she wanted to keep them safe and alive and when they’d been a team that had been possible to do but now? Now it wasn’t.
Deciding herself done with the actual fighting bits of being a shinobi, at least for a time Rin made a choice, one most of her immediate family -including her father and mother- would disapprove of whole heartedly, she signed herself up to become an Academy Instructor within the village of Kirigakure. If she could train the future Genin of the village well enough, ensure they understood the dangers of being a ninja instead of going in with heads full of ideas that things would be easy then good! She could make sure at least in her own way, that fewer kids had to go to battles unprepared as she had been in her childhood, see less people dead in a tragedy if she could get them ready.
So, that became her new goal, to prepare the future forces of Kirigakure so that they might be ready should another war break out, or even just for their general shinobi careers.
FIGHTING STYLE Rin prefers to stick to stealth where possible, sticking to the shadows as best she can and shooting projectiles in whatever form she can. She’s trash at Genjutsu much to her chagrin and, though not her specialty she is capable of dealing with Taijutsu when she needs to, up close and personal is not where she shines and she knows this.
