The sun hung lazily in the air as it illuminated the whole of Iwagakure. The days were getting warmer but the mornings were still chilly and as such people were still taking their time getting their days started. It mattered little to those who were employed by the village as shinobi as their duties often took them to places that required them to leave early, as was the case today. Poachers had become more than a nuisance for one of the nature preserves in Tsuchi no Kuni and a request for aid had been sent for shinobi to put an end to it.

It was one of the more unique missions the chunin had ever been on but one he felt would be a good test of his abilities both in terms of jutsu and potentially being put in charge of teams in the future, the latter more so because of the genin that had been assigned to the mission alongside him. He was a young Yutakako --which was its own thing-- but it was something that the Nohime couldn't really fault the boy for; besides, he had been on an operations team with Katsurou for what felt like an eternity and they had few, if any, problems so there was an expectation of the same here.

The purple haired youth idled at the village gates as he waited for his mission partner to arrive so they could get a move on. While the trek towards Tora wasn't one that Ouritsu anticipated any issues with there was still quite a bit to do once they reached their destination.

[attr="class","lightbluetext"]Sukikyo, buoyed by a mixture of excitement and eagerness, approached the village gates where his mission partner, Nōhime Outritsu, was already waiting. The crisp morning air did little to dampen his spirits, the fresh chill acting like a splash of cold water waking him up fully.

With a grin stretching across his face, Sukikyo adjusted the mesh armor under his casual attire, ensuring everything was snug and secure. His vibrant red hair, held back by his trusty headband, seemed almost to mirror the fiery enthusiasm he felt bubbling inside. As he neared the chunin, his pace quickened, his sandals kicking up small clouds of dust with each eager step.

"Morning!" he called out with a cheerful voice, a burst of energy in the quiet of the early hour. "Ready to kick some poacher butt and save the day?" His words were playful, yet there was a genuine thrill in his tone.

He couldn't help but feel a bit proud - he was being trusted to work under a chunin's guidance on a mission. This thought alone made his chest puff slightly as he awaited instructions, ready to prove his worth and, perhaps more importantly, learn something from the experienced shinobi at his side.

As they prepared to set off, Sukikyo's amber gaze turned towards the path leading out of the village, his mind already racing with the possibilities of what the day could possibly contain for the two of them.

He's not very precise with his explosions, but they don't lack in power, able to destroy with ease when the boy wants to. He's not a master, but he's rather talented at utilizing the kekkei genkai. Sūkikyō's trained with Bakuton from a very young age and has learned to use it in tandem with his favored taijutsu.

Speed is not an issue for this rambunctious boy. Sūkikyō's speed is nothing to be taken lightly, he has pushed himself physically to be able to outpace opponents. The boy is quick and agile, easily outpacing his peers. Many people have trouble keeping track of Sūkikyō’s movements, as they are ridiculously quick for someone of his age.

'Oh this kid is amped' Ouritsu thought to himself as the bubbly kid eagerly made his way over to meet with him. He couldn't blame him though, the chunin had been the same way every time he had gotten a chance to leave the village for a mission and may have been even more excited that time he got to team up with Akira to take down those bandits; but now he was the head of a mission leading another youth, time was funny like that. "I sure am, let's get a move on." He replied with a nod. Tora wasn't a particularly far destination but it was imperative they had enough time to get a lay of the land and figure out the best strategy to take the poachers down. Between the two of them that normally wouldn't have been an issue, but they were instructed to avoid killing them if possible so this would require a bit more finesse than usual.

As the pair exited the village and began to head due south the chunin figured that since there was some time to kill before they arrived it would be best to know a little more about who he'd be working with. "You planning on entering the upcoming chunin exams? I hear they're in Kusa this time around." He inquired. There was no judgement either way as some genin weren't super eager to throw themselves into the gauntlet at the first opportunity, neither did their sensei let them, and taking time to hone one's skills was never a bad thing. Hell, Ouritsu himself had even waited a few years before taking the exams for the first time and in more than one occasion he wished he waited a little longer, though passing on the first try and getting them out of the way was a great feeling.

"Chunin Exams, huh?" he mused aloud, scratching the back of his neck as they walked. The rhythmic crunch of gravel underfoot marked the distance the pair traveled. "Yeah, I've been thinking about it. Kusa would be a cool place to compete. But it's kind of a big step, isn't it?"

The idea of participating in the exams was enticing - more so the adventure and the challenge. Sukikyo was never one to fuss over titles, but the thought of testing his skills against other genin from different villages stoked a fierce excitement within him.

"I guess I'm just weighing if I'm ready to jump into that kind of fray. There's still so much to learn, and sometimes, I feel like I'm just scraping the surface," he admitted, a hint of vulnerability peeking through his usually confident demeanor.

He glanced over at Ouritsu, curious about the older shinobi's experience. "What were the exams like for you? Did it change much for you afterward?"

The conversation helped ease some of the tension of the mission's seriousness, allowing Sukikyo to settle into a comfortable pace beside the senior shinobi. As the landscape slowly transitioned from the familiar to the unexplored, he remained alert, his senses sharpened - for both potential threats and any wisdom Ouritsu might be willing to share.

It was normal to want to be as prepared as possible for an undertaking as huge as the chunin exams and if the boy had truly only begun to scratch the surface of his shinobi abilities then the prospect could be daunting to think about, but in truth they were designed to be difficult regardless of how much training one had or how many jutsu they knew. Sure, having more options in your arsenal to help deal with problems was always a good thing but what was being tested dealt with more how genin assessed situations that couldn't be solved by just throwing their strongest technique at it.

"It's definitely a big step for sure, but it's one of those things you'll never be fully prepared for y'know? They come up with all sorts of stuff to put even really experienced genin in some tough spots. But don't feel pressured to join in if you've still got stuff you need to work on, they come around a couple times a year so you shouldn't have to wait too long when you feel like throwing your hat in the ring." Ouritsu replied as the two continued their trek south. The mostly barren, rocky outcroppings were slowly shifting into tiny grasslands denoting their getting closer to one of the few forested areas in the country. They were still a ways from the expansive foliage views that stretched out in every direction, but progress was being made.

The Nohime took a moment to think back on his own chunin exams as Sukikyo inquired. They had been quite a few years ago by this point but it was hard to forget the experiences. "They were tough. I was out of the country for the first time in a place that didn't look like Iwa at all so there was a lot to try and adjust to in a short amount of time. The exam itself was weird. There was a maze filled with puzzles and wild animals, a team race up a giant tree that had it's own traps and then to top it off a free for all battle that turned into us fighting against Taki's jinchuriki. Me and some glasses wearing kid from Suna made it to the end, but neither of us were strong enough to beat that thing."

Ouritsu still couldn't believe that the village, or all the villages for that matter, had agreed to let that happen and they very well could have all died had that lady been actually aiming for them with that last attack of hers. "But thankfully I ended up passing and well, I've been a chunin ever since. I get a little more freedom to travel which is awesome and I just came back from training with some Kiri-nin not too long ago. The world definitely opens up for you a little more when you get promoted."

The concept of such challenging tasks thrilled the genin, fueling his ever-present desire to test his limits. The genin’s thoughts drifted to the growth he hoped to achieve. "I guess it's all about jumping into those big steps, even if they seem huge at the moment. I mean, if you don't push yourself, how are you supposed to know what you're capable of, right?" He smiled, a bit more confidently this time.

The story about facing a jinchuriki left an especially strong impression; the idea that one could encounter such formidable opponents was incredibly exciting.

"Waow, that sounds insane. Fighting a jin during an exam? Man, that's something else," Sukikyo chuckled, though he did feel a niggling of tension at the thought. "It must've been a wild ride. Makes me wonder what they'll throw at me when it’s my time to do the Exams."

He took a moment, his gaze wandering over the increasingly verdant landscape as they moved closer to their destination. The shift in the environment brought a new freshness to the air. Sukikyo's thoughts momentarily drifted to his own aspirations and the growth he hoped to achieve.

Glancing back at Ouritsu, he said, "I think I want to give the exams a shot sooner rather than later. Even if I don't pass the first time, it'll be a heck of a learning experience. And hey, who knows? Maybe it'll be my turn to come back with wild stories to tell."

As they continued their walk, Sukikyo tried to shift his focus back to the mission at hand, but his mind was racing with ideas on how he might handle the challenges of the future. "So, any tips on tackling today's mission? I mean, with the whole 'try not to kill the poachers' thing. It's definitely going to need some finesse."

Ouritsu's response and subsequent planning would not only shape the course of their current mission but also set the tone for Sukikyo's approach to the impending exams and beyond. His readiness to engage, learn, and adapt was clear, marking him as a young shinobi with not just potential but a genuine eagerness to evolve. As the duo edged closer to their target, the blend of excitement for the immediate task and the future possibilities seemed to energize Sukikyo even more, readying him for whatever lay ahead.

It hadn't been Ouritsu's plan to try and convince the genin to enter the exams but it sounded like the stories of his adventures had done enough to make Sukikyo take a stab at them. Confidence was definitely key in a situation like that as running around all sheepish was a sure fire way of getting tossed around in the exams, and not only by the proctors. Genin from every village showed up to these things and though there was an assumed neutrality while at the exams animosity still ran deep and no doubt there would be those gunning to try and knock someone from a rival village down a few pegs for nothing else than their sense of nationalism.

"You'll definitely learn a lot, pass or fail, but just make sure by the time you give it a shot what you're good at is as close to second nature as possible and at least have a working nature of the stuff you're not so great at; being well rounded as a shinobi is invaluable." Ouritsu replied as the two continued their journey south into the semi-grasslands.

The genin would ask him if there was any advice for their upcoming mission and hitting on the 'avoid lethal force if possible' motif was indeed going to make things a bit tricky. "Staying quiet and avoiding spooking the animals is our best bet. If they randomly run off then the poachers will know something is up, granted they may think it's a predator on the hunt or something but best not to ruin the element of surprise." The chunin paused for a moment as he thought about how they'd best go about actually subduing the poachers. If he remembered the kid's file correctly he was pretty damn good at taijutsu along with his clans techniques --well, one of them anyway-- so while the latter probably wouldn't do well in the 'keeping civilians alive' part the former would work just fine.

"I figure between my genjutsu and your taijutsu we'll be able to get the drop on them without too much trouble, and if they do give us some trouble then we do we must to protect ourselves." He added. It was a roundabout way of letting Sukikyo know that if push came to shove the two of them getting back to Iwa in one piece was priority and if they had to go through some poachers to achieve that then so be it.

After a fair bit more walking the landscape had all but shifted to a complete grasslands setting with groves of trees dotting the landscape. A worn trail would lead them to a wooden building that simply read 'Rangers Station' on a sign hanging above the door. "I think this is where we're supposed to meet our contact." The Nohime spoke as he opened the creaky windscreen door prompting those inside to immediately take notice of the duo. "Crikey! Ain't you a tall drink ah water?" A scruffy blonde haired man spoke. He was wearing what could only be described as a khaki short and button down ensemble with a pair of working boots. He couldn't have been taller than five and a half feet but from the various scars and nicks on his arms and legs it was clear he had no issue handling creatures that were much larger than him.

"Uh.. yeah, we were sent from Iwa to help with the poacher problem you guys are having." Ouritsu replied trying to steer the conversation back on track. "Ah, right on ya. Bessies been givin us a bit of trouble as of late, and these animals are endangered so losing even a couple has a huge impact." He'd motion the two to follow him over to a large table that had a large map of the preserve scrawled across it, small wooden figurines of the various animals that called this place home in different parts. "They usually warm up with the zebras and wildebeest here, then work their way up to the bigger creatures over here. People pay good money for antlers, tusks, pelts so they try trapping them first to get a cleaner kill... But! You lads are here to put a stop to all that, you've got free range to the whole place just try not to scare the animals off too far, bit of a pain trying to wrangle them up again."

This was a situation that necessitated both speed and finesse. The longer it took for them to apprehend the poachers the more animals ended up maimed or dead, but moving too fast brought with it the possibility of making the poachers scatter and with only the two of them it would be near impossible to round them all up. "Very well, we'll get started right away. Ready for a little sightseeing, Sukikyo?"

[attr="class","lightbluetext"]Sukikyo's enthusiasm seemed to double at Ouritsu's answer. His eyes sparkled with thrill, nodding vigorously at the plan laid out. "You got it, I can keep a low profile until we need to make our move. The quieter, the better," he agreed, his eagerness making it doubtful that he could actually be quiet for an extended period of time.

The mention of combining their skills - Ouritsu's genjutsu and his own taijutsu - was reassuring. It highlighted their strengths in a way that made Sukikyo feel even more prepared for what was ahead.

"Sounds like a solid plan. I'll follow your lead on this," he said, confidence threading his tone.

As they entered the Ranger's Station, Sukikyo couldn't help but be amused by the local's greeting.

"Nice to meet you," Sukikyo chimed in, his voice friendly and light. He leaned over the table to get a better look at the map, his eyes tracing the paths that the poachers might take. "Looks like we have our work cut out for us. But we're up for the challenge."

The briefing was succinct, and the urgency of their mission was clear. With each word from the ranger, Sukikyo's resolve to make sure this mission ended only in success hardened.

As they set out from the ranger station, Sukikyo glanced over at Ouritsu with a grin. "A little sightseeing, with a side of heroics. Let’s go make sure those poachers think twice before coming back here," he said, ready to embark. With his senses heightened and his mind focused, he followed Ouritsu, prepared to learn.

The fresh air of the preserve filled his lungs as they quietly made their way toward the first suspected hotspot. Kyo remained alert, his every sense attuned to the natural sounds around them, listening for anything out of place.

Ouritsu could appreciate the enthusiasm that was practically beaming from the genin and with a nod they'd set out for the first stop on their poacher-hunting mission. It was apparently a habitat for a colony of meerkats who were as skittish as they were vigilant which meant that the poachers would be just as quiet as the duo as to not scare the critters back into their underground haven. This would be an interesting task for them to tackle though the Nohime wasn't so much worried about scaring the animals back into safety, but getting the timing right so their targets didn't know something was up until it was far too late.

As they came upon a sea of shrubbery surrounding vast flatlands Ouritsu would give the signal for the two of them to duck into the brush. Looking through the foliage a family of meerkats could be seen surveying the area on their hind legs a good ten or so meters away, and to their left were a pair of men slowly creeping out of the brush with large nets in hand ready to try and capture them. "You see 'em, yeah? Get as close as you can through the bushes and let them have it once you hear the signal. I won't be far behind if you need back up."

He'd give Sukikyo a couple moments to ask questions and/or steel himself and heading off. As the poachers continued to creep closer Ouritsu would bring two fingers to his mouth before letting off a whistle that rapidly increased in pitch causing the two men to hear a ringing sound in their ears that rose to painful levels to the point of trying to cover their ears to stop the foreign sound and wincing in perceived pain. They'd hardly see the genin coming, if at all, and now was the perfect time to strike.

This technique causes the target to hear a high pitched tone in their ear, it being so painful that most targets claw at their ears. The technique is initiated through the audio cue of a whistle going from low to high. Due to this, many individuals have mistaken this technique for sound ninjutsu.

[attr="class","lightbluetext"]Sukikyo crouched low, the shrubbery brushing against his sides as he moved stealthily, amber eyes fixed intently on the poachers. The excitement of the mission surged through him, a mix of adrenaline and focus sharpening his senses. His ears perked up at the sound of Ouritsu's whistle, a clear signal that the time to act was now.

Springing from his hiding spot he dashed towards the poachers. The ringing in their ears masked his swift approach. His movements were a blur as he closed the distance quietly yet quickly.

When he neared the disoriented men, Sukikyo engaged as an excited grin crossed his face.

The first poacher barely had time to react as Sukikyo reached him. With a swift, fluid motion, he applied a joint lock, twisting the man's arm behind his back and pushing him to the ground, slamming his elbow into his temple so he crumpled to the ground.

The second poacher turned at the noise, only to find Sukikyo already upon him, a well-placed kick to the knee buckling him down, followed by bringing down the side of his palm into the side of his neck, sending him sprawling and most likely knocked out.

With both poachers secured, Sukikyo stood back, breathing heavily from the exertion but exhilarated by the success of their ambush. He looked over to Ouritsu, seeking approval and ready for the next step in their mission.

Momentarily startled, the meerkats quickly resumed their vigilant watch, their small heads bobbing curiously as they observed the scene before them. It seemed they, too, were grateful for the interruption that saved them from capture.

"Looks like the meerkats owe us one, huh?" Sukikyo joked softly, a light-hearted attempt to ease any tension as they prepared to move on. His eyes were alight with anticipation for the rest of their mission, eager to see what challenges lay ahead and how well he and Ouritsu could handle them together.

As a member of the Yutakako Clan, Sūkikyō was born with the ability to combine Katon and Raiton into the explosive element, Bakuton. He's not very precise with his explosions, but they don't lack in power, able to destroy with ease when the boy wants to. He's not a master, but he's rather talented at utilizing the kekkei genkai. Sūkikyō's trained with Bakuton from a very young age and has learned to use it in tandem with his favored taijutsu.

Speed is not an issue for this rambunctious boy. Sūkikyō's speed is nothing to be taken lightly, he has pushed himself physically to be able to outpace opponents. The boy is quick and agile, easily outpacing his peers. Many people have trouble keeping track of Sūkikyō’s movements, as they are ridiculously quick for someone of his age.

Watching Sukikyo put the hurt on the two poachers instantly reminded him of how the Okada fought what with them using their physical prowess to immobilize their opponents before overpowering them into submission. Had that clan's influence reached so far in Iwa that even people who were nowhere near affiliated with them began copying their style? Soon enough everybody would be walking around with steel chairs looking for three counts. Ouritsu's mind had the freedom to wander because his mission partner had dispatched the two targets with ease, their perceived afflictions more than debilitating enough to allow Sukikyo to get the jump on them.

Having only been a few steps behind the Nohime had been able to see the meerkats scatter only to return once the commotion settled and truth be told the chunin was surprised they had come up from ground with people still around but it was cool being able to see them up close. "Yeah I guess they can recognize friend from foe." Ouritsu replied before turning his attention to the two downed poachers. It'd waste precious time to haul them back to the rangers station and he couldn't risk them waking up and causing any more problems. "Help me tie these guys to the tree. Can't have them running off when they wake up." The chunin spoke while pulling out a length of shinobi wire. Propping their unconscious frames up against the trunk of a tree they'd work to tie them in layers of the wire before tying off the end. "That should hold 'em until we can send the rangers to come pick them up, let's hit the next spot."

After a bit of walking the two would come upon a sizable watering hole that many of the nature reserves residents used to get a drink or cool off during the day, normally a place for peace yet today there was anything but. The sound of a struggling animal screaming was impossible to ignore and the scene causing it was equally unmistakable. A downed water buffalo with ropes around its neck and legs was thrashing about in fear, confusion and probably pain. Surrounding him cautiously were four poachers armed with sharp machetes waiting to carve all the valuable parts from the animal once it tired itself out.

"Ah shit, we gotta move quick. Same as before, but only target two of them, I'll handle the other two, and be mindful of the weapons, they won't be able to see you but they'll still be swinging them around once they start panicking." Ouritsu instructed before giving the signal to charge in. He'd unleash another shrill whistle at the four poachers but instead of an ear rattling screech this time their very vision would begin to flip and spin as if someone had put them in the worlds worst carnival ride. That may have been enough to get the job done but the Nohime wanted to give Sukikyo as much of an advantage as possible given these opponents were armed. Rendering a couple seals Ouritsu would speak "Keizokuteki Enmu no Jutsu" as he attempted to layer another genjutsu on top of the first, causing the poachers already disoriented vision to be obscured even further by a thick fog.

Stumbling around like blind drunks the poachers could do little more than haphazardly swing their machete around in confusion, but so long as they could be evaded the men were sitting ducks.

After a shrill whistle, the user will cast a Genjutsu over their opponent. After they hear the whistle, it will seem as if the world around them begins to spin. Everything turning upside down, making them almost unable to move without falling over. Leaving the opponent extremely disorientated.

NAME: Keizokuteki Enmu no Jutsu [Continuous Fog Technique]

DESCRIPTION:
Developed as a genjutsu version of the hidden mist technique it allows for the same effects as the ninjutsu version with much less chakra utilized. The target seeing a thick fog or mist rising up to obscure their vision and even their hearing. Less experienced users of genjutsu usually leave it at this, but more experienced practitioners will add in the proper smells and even the damp feel of the fog to the target(s) senses. The technique is triggered by the user saying the techniques name; although they'll often render a handseal or two as well to make the target(s) believe it is actually a ninjutsu.

[attr="class","lightbluetext"]Ouritsu's instructions were clear, and Kyo knew the key to success lay in their seamless coordination. Nodding, he signaled his understanding and moved swiftly, using the bushes as cover.

Sukikyo’s heart pounded in his chest, at the sounds of the distressed buffalo. It pissed the young genin off, hearing a defenseless animal in pain, and it made him really want to teach the bad guys a lesson. He took a deep breath, steadying himself as he moved into position.

The poachers began swinging their machetes wildly, their vision and balance completely disrupted. With the genjutsu in place, Sukikyo saw the opportunity to strike. He targeted the two nearest him, darting in with the grace and precision of a seasoned shinobi.

The first poacher was closest. Sukikyo sidestepped the erratic swings, his agile movements keeping him just out of reach. He lunged forward, aiming a swift kick to the back of the man's knee, causing him to collapse. A quick follow-up punch to the temple rendered the poacher unconscious.

The second poacher, hearing the commotion, turned towards Sukikyo but was still disoriented. Sukikyo moved in, grabbing the man's wrist and twisting it sharply, forcing him to drop the machete. With a fluid motion, Sukikyo swept the poacher's legs out from under him, pinning him to the ground. A precise chop to the neck ensured the man would not get up anytime soon.

Sukikyo approached the terrified animal, speaking in soothing tones as he carefully cut the ropes binding it. "Easy there, big guy. You're safe now," he murmured, trying to make his voice calm and reassuring. The buffalo, perhaps sensing the change in its predicament, gradually stopped thrashing and began to calm down.

He pulled out a kunai and sliced through the ropes that were tangled around the poor creature. Once the buffalo was free and running away from them, Kyo turned to check on how Ouritsu managed with his two bad guys. Probably with flawless aplomb.

The trap had been sprung and their plan put into motion, it took only moments for both genjutsu to render the poachers into a state of panic allowing both Iwa-nin to close the distance on their targets with relative ease though they did still have to contend with the wild swings of the machete that the poachers were wielding in a not that vain attempt to protect themselves. Nevertheless, uncoordinated and most importantly blind swings would be of little consequence to shinobi. But what would be the best way to dispose of them? More genjutsu would be good practice but waiting for their brains to overload into unconsciousness would take time that they didn't have, so ninjutsu it was!

Forming two seals Ouritsu's arms would begin to be covered in a hard layer of rock as he approached the first poacher, side stepping an arrant swing before delivering a two-piece to the kidney that sent him reeling to the ground in a hurry. The second man, his sight now unburdened with the dual genjutsu ended, focused himself just in time to see his counterpart collapse to the cold, hard ground as he realized the situation. Unfortunately it would be too little too late as the Nohime sped in attempting to bring matters to an end quickly. The man would swing his machete wildly and they'd bounce of the rocky exterior of Ouritsu's arms before the chunin launched a series of strikes at the poachers upper torso and face. It may have been a bit of overkill but they were already showing restraint by not killing them in the first place so this beating was, in a weird way, a blessing.

The second poacher would fall just like the first and another threat had been quelled before any animals had been hurt. As before Ouritsu would tie the poachers up with a wire and drag them over to Sukikyo who had done well to take care of his targets as well as free the water buffalo which had since ran off to find its kin. "Good job, they didn't know what hit 'em." The chunin spoke. "Next area should be where we can find all the big game, and probably where we'll find the rest of the poachers. I imagine they'll be more organized and more armed, so ready yourself." He added.

As expected, the largest area of the reserve was a vast flatland with multiple watering holes and animals of a bunch of species roaming about, though what immediately the eye were the herds of giraffe and rhinos that called this place home. No doubt this would be where the poachers would look to make most of their money and they'd be hard pressed to let anyone in the way of it. Noticing a significant amount of prints pressed into the soil Ouritsu would stop for a moment to get a closer look and it was then he realized that things had gotten a bit more interesting. "Looks like they're on horseback, some of them at least. Trying to run down these huge animals would be impossible for them on foot, means we get to have a bit more fun though." Ouritsu spoke with a chuckle. "We follow these for a bit and we're bound to run into them."

"What would you say we do in a situation like this? Opponent most likely wielding weapons and traps while also being on horseback, and, of course not being able to kill if possible." The Nohime inquired. If Sukikyo did have intentions of taking the exams then becoming more familiar with thinking through various scenarios would be critical as the powers at be would want to see that a prospect for promotion had the mental fortitude for critical thinking and complex problem solving.

[attr="class","lightbluetext"]Sukikyo pondered Ouritsu's question, his amber eyes tracing the tracks left by the poachers on horseback. The scenario was complicated, no doubt, a real test of his tactical thinking. He didn’t have any support or disorienting techniques in his repertoire, but maybe Ouritsu could cover for his weaknesses. With a thoughtful nod, he began to outline his thoughts.

"First off, we'd need to get them off those horses so they don’t have the mobile height advantage," Sukikyo suggested, focusing intently on trying to figure out the question posed to him. "Maybe we could spook them so they throw their riders? Or something to prevent the horses from moving? I don’t have anything like that though, unless explosions can help."

He paused, his mind racing through the different techniques he had seen so far from his mentor. "Disorientation techniques like your genjutsu could be really helpful. Make them see illusions or distort their sense of direction. While they're dealing with that, we could close in."

Sukikyo's face lit up with enthusiasm as he continued, "And for the actual takedown, we keep it non-lethal but firm. Maybe I can use taijutsu to incapacitate them quickly. Strikes to disable without causing long-term harm." This is the department he shined in.

He glanced at Ouritsu, seeking validation for his suggestions. "What do you think? It works with both of our strengths, and it keeps us within the mission's parameters of avoiding killing." His voice held a tinge of pride, and he hoped his attempt at a strategic approach had impressed his more experienced comrade.

Ouritsu nodded along as he listened to the genin give his answer. He was correct in that the top priority was getting the poachers off of the horses or finding some way to take them out of the equation though doing so while remaining in the parameters of the mission was going to be a little tricky. Taking the horses out was simple enough but considering they were trying to save the lives of animals it would have been hypocritical to simply treat them as casualties of battle. Stealth probably wouldn't be an option this time around especially if the numbers were around what the Nohime were guessing they'd be, but the duo would manage.

"Good thinking. It'll be tough to get to them while they have all that extra speed, but once the horses are stopped it'll be easy picking. Toss a couple exploding tags ahead of them and it'll spook them enough to stop or if we're lucky throw the riders off." Ouritsu spoke as he once again started walking. "There's too many of them to do this stealthily, especially if they're already chasing after something, but I'll try my best to let us get as close as possible then do what you gotta to take em down."

With the plan more or less set in stone the two would continue through the plains in search of the final group of poachers and soon enough the sounds of stamping hooves and yelling men cut through the air signaling that their targets were close. In the distance a herd of giraffe could be seen running from ten men on horseback, large nets spread between a few of them that they were no doubt trying to use to capture the animals. "Exploding tags in between the horses and the animals, then we pounce." The Nohime spoke as he pulled a couple notes from his pouch and tied them to some kunai before bounding off after the poachers.

Trying to catch up to horses that were going nearly full sprint would require Ouritsu to move faster than he had in quite some time, but thankfully the angle they had taken allowed for them to intercept the poachers without too much trouble. With a swing of his hand the chunin would loose the kunai a bit ahead of the path of the horses and assuming Sukikyo's weren't far behind would detonate them causing the horses to rear back in surprise. "WHAT THE-" One of the men called out in confusion though as the dust settled his eyes would catch onto the approaching duo. "Ah shit, we got shinobi. Get rid of 'em so we don't lose track of the giraffe, that's our pay day!" He shouted to the other poachers though Ouritsu was determined to not let them get the chance to continue the chase.

Performing three seals, Ouritsu would create a cube of jinton large enough for the group of poachers to see and as they saw it they would find themselves trapped in a similar cube large enough to fit themselves and the horses; a seemingly harmless orb sitting in the middle that would detonate and with it they'd see their very beings begin to disintegrate. Screams of panic set in instantly as their attention was ripped away from the two shinobi. "Go now! Take them out!" He called out to the genin.

DESCRIPTION:
The user will produce a jinton cube as if they are about to make an attack, and upon seeing said cube the target(s) will find themselves trapped in a similar cube. Once the ball of Jinton chakra 'detonates' the target(s) will experience themselves being disintegrated at a molecular level, their very being disappearing into the ether and causing large amounts of pain and --what may be more important-- panic.
