赤海 | Akōmi | Red Sea

OWNER: Personal

RANK: C

CLASSIFICATION: Offensive

ELEMENT: N/A

RESTRICTIONS: --

DESCRIPTION:
Akōmi is a fine kodachi forged by the joint efforts of the expert smith Masamune no Gin and Uemon himself. Though it is unmistakably a Masamune weapon, it bears the colors of the Muramasa clan in its white ito and the aiiro-colored lacquer that coats its saya. The blade in its entirety is 43.18 cm (17 in.) in length and is composed of high-quality steel, some of which was salvaged from Uemon's previous katana, Yoshitake. Akōmi's hamon is indicative of its high quality, the pattern along its edge appearing like furious crashing waves. Its tsuba was made in ruiteki gata fashion by request to resemble a teardrop, with its pointed end facing outward for ease of drawing and for use in stabbing should he need it. White ito hides a pair of kirin menuki on its tsuka, and leftover cloth is wrapped halfway down its saya. Akōmi's furniture is steel plated with brass, and a maroon-colored sageo is fastened to the saya. The short blade is ornate, swift, and lethal, though obviously it lacks the reach of a katana. An assassin's weapon through and through.

ABILITIES:
聖なる鋼 | SEINARU HAGANE | SACRED STEEL - ENH. DURABILITY
Due to being forged mostly by a Kyoshō of the Masamune clan, Akōmi is a deceptively sturdy weapon despite being so small. It can withstand punishment beyond what any weapon of a similar quality can handle and remain undamaged at a structural level. Its red waves are ever resilient. (This is a free ability granted by Gin's Special Services. Forging thread: Here)

呪いに触れた | NOROI NI FURETA | CURSE-TOUCHED - ENH. SHARPNESS
Perhaps due to his part in its forging or the steel borrowed from Yoshitake, Akōmi retains that intangible marker that distinguishes each and every Muramasa blade in spite of its mixed make. Simply put, it is much sharper than other weapons of its caliber has any right to be and can pierce or cleave through bone, or even rock without much trouble.

First I must say, that to gain the extra ability from a civilian one thread is not enough. For an added SA I would like to look at about 3~4 threads altogether, as proof of the venture. The idea is that it is an extra permanent SA, so it should not be something gained easily.

And for a C-rank weapon, even with increased sharpness, I would say the max it can do is cut into the stone and not cleave stone or strong metals.

I can edit the text for the sharpness because it's ultimately just flavor and obv a higher-ranked weapon would beat it.

But as far as the 3-4 threads ruling, I see nothing in the Civilian Rules that lists the requirement for a free equipment ability being equal to the amount of proof needed for an SA. In fact it only says 'the thread' in regards to linking for evidence here.

If 3-4 threads for a free equipment ability is supposed to be the standard I think we should update the rules? Unless this is just a mixup with a civilian character acquiring a new Special Service in which case that is a standard 3-4 threads (assuming I'm reading this right).

Thank you for noticing that, that will need adjustment. Sorry for the confusion.

The idea of obtaining a weapon crafted by a civilian blacksmith with an extra SA was never meant to be a single thread, but more so proportional to the rank of the weapon in question, so an S rank weapon would need twice or even thrice the amount of the threads needed for a C-rank. Something like a story/ a whole journey. From nothing to a complete weapon.

Extra SA is a strong boon, so it was never meant to be obtained easily.

And it still cannot pierce or cleave through rock, wood yes, but rock max it would be able to do is cut into. Please adjust the wording~
