Raika smiles at the fact that she's about to go on a mission with Hibana as a breeze blows past her in this balmy afternoon. While it was quite warm, she knows that it can cool off quickly as soon as the sun sets, and besides, they'll be under the canopy of the forest, allowing them to stay nice and cool even in this summer heat. This was the first mission she'd get to go on since she was promoted to Chuunin from the Exams only a few short months ago. Technically, she was now a member of the ANBU Black Ops unit, but in order to keep up appearances that she's a normal shinobi, she still has to go on the occasional normal mission that would be expected of someone of her rank. And since Hibana was also aware of her actual position, not to mention the fact that they were now fiancées, it was only natural that she ask Hibana to go on this mission with her.

She turns when she thinks she hears someone coming, playing with her engagement ring just a little with her other hand. It had become a way to center herself over the past few weeks since the proposal. They still hadn't actually gotten married just yet, but she knows that it's coming eventually, and she can live with that. Her smile turns to a grin when she can see her lover's signature blonde and pink hair, and she gives her a happy wave, wearing her usual cropped black tank top and coveralls pulled down to her waist, which leads all the way down to her black boots. Her black hair is pulled into the usual ponytail. The headband tied loosely around her neck completes the look of a shinobi prepared for this mission, standing at the village gates and preparing to leave for the Hi no Kuni woods far in the distance, where there was apparently some renegade band that had decided on an attack on the village of Konoha. While this might normally be a good beginner mission for one of the ANBU, it was simple enough that it could be done with two Chuunin level kunoichi easily enough.

"Hey there hot stuff.~ You ready to deal some damage?"

Hibana dashed quickly through the underbrush dodging small trees and bushes. She had been given a note with specific coordinates to meet her fiance for a mission outside the village. She smiled, her hand reaching up to touch the trinket on her choker. It was an exact match to the ring she had proposed to Raika with and it meant more to her than anything else in the world. This would be the first true mission the couple had been on and she was excited Raika asked her to come with. She side stepped a small tree seeing the small clearing in the distance, her raven haired lover already waiting. She stepped from the tree line brushing a few strands of her blonde hair behind her ear. She was ready for today and however long this mission would take. She could not hide her smile seeing the Hyuga standing there waiting for her, the act of her fidgeting with her ring making her heart skip a beat. She was dressed in her normal attire, black cropped sleevless top with her midriff showing. Short black shorts going down to her mid thigh offering her legs freedom to kick. The loose grey cropped sleeveless hoodie matching the grey silk cloth covering her right eye. It was all tied together with her headband she used to cover her neck and hide her choker and black and white Cougars, her favorite brand of running shoes. She walked up to her fiance leaning up on her tippy toes to kiss her cheek before regaining her composure. "Of course I am, you won't be the only one getting to see these babies up close." She leaned down as she spoke slapping her thighs making the Hun Gar rings on her claves rattle. She reached down grabbing the string attached to the bottom ring and tied it across the rest to keep them from making to much noise.

Raika can't help but to giggle with delight when her shorter lover has to get up on tiptoes in order to kiss her cheek, and the public display of affection makes her blush a little, a rare sight for such a confident woman. She also bites her bottom lip a little when she claps her own thighs to make them shake just a bit and making the Hung Gar rings she's wearing clang together. She's glad to see her lover tightening them up so that they won't be so loud while they're on the mission, since she doesn't have to tell her to do so. Raika pulls on her own Hung Gar rings, ensuring a tight fit as always. The new Chuunin was actually curious about whether or not Hibana was going to wind up as strong as she was with those training weights, but she smiles happily when it seems they're both ready.

She gives her lover a playful little salute before she starts running forwards into the woods, leaping up to the nearby branch and then leaping from it with a practiced movement to get started on her way. She wanted to try out some of the new Iron Fist techniques she'd picked up from the world-famous Flame of the World, Chisai. She hoped her future wife wouldn't ask her to take down the poster she had of the Jonin Hancho in their bedroom... She might have had a bit of a celebrity crush on that particular blonde as well, although she'd never outright say as much to Hibana, for fear of making the other blonde woman jealous.

"Oof, what..."

Raika stops suddenly and pauses in her movement, squatting low on the branch so as to make herself as small and hopefully unnoticeable as she activates her Byakugan. She hopes to catch their opponents off-guard and unawares as she explores using the much greater range of sight granted by her clan's Doujutsu while she holds up a hand to hopefully catch Hibana's attention and have her sit back, if just for a moment, while Raika takes in all the information that she can from the surroundings and hopefully catch the bandits on their way through the forested area.

She watched Raika take off waiting a few moments before she gave chase. She knew she was faster than the Hyuga but her fiance had been slowly catching up to her in that department. It took a few moments before she was right behind her partner slowing her speed to keep pace right behind her. She knew that no matter how good her eye was the Byakugan was by far the superior Doujutsu. To Hibana this made Raika the perfect one to lead, plus she did not mind the view from behind her muscular lover. The time seemed to pass effortlessly as the two dashed from tree branch to tree branch. Not many words were spoken but the two knew this was first a stealth mission over anything. The glances shared between the two on their trip said more than many couples could in hours of speaking. As her mind created images of their future together the young Namikaze saw her partner stop and crouch low. She did the same on an parallel branch dropping low, her hands moving up to tie her hair into a high ponytail. She watched Raika activate her Byakugan leaving her own eye covered to conserve chakra. "What do you see my love?" She waited patiently following Raika's lead. Her partner was now an Anbu and Hibana was willing to step aside for Raika to get the praise and recognition she deserved.

"Nothing ever happens,” the younger man moaned to his partner, the two former shinobi having been posted on watch. "Things not happening is good, you dolt,” The more grizzled of the two sentries replied, "‘Aint no good if we’re attacked before we do what we mean to do.” The two men spoke to one another, but did not look toward each other, their attention instead turned toward the treeline and the pathways below. Both were heavily armed, each with swords, but it seemed that they were more exhausted than anything else. Frustration and tiredness tinged at their eyes and at their postures. They did not know that they weren’t alone, at least not yet. For as far as they were aware, their position some distance from their main camp was an isolated little forward outpost, a security but not a necessary one. The proverbial canary in the coal mine if some sort of danger were to come toward the larger encampment deeper in the woods, not that they expected any sort of proper attack. Arrogance, boredom and tiredness had rendered their watch sloppy and so they stared into nothingness. Yet that did not change the fact that they were only two men, some distance from their base of operations, and who could tell what would come from there?

Thankfully, Raika catches sight of the very small outpost of two people, thanks to her Byakugan; she even sees them before they see either of the two kunoichi. She smirks a little and takes hold of her lover's wrist to help lead her into the treeline, away from the road, and taking the same side of the forested area as the lookout so that they'd be able to come at the duo from a circular path in the opposite direction of the road, where they were probably focused on looking. Once they're out of the road, she finally relays what she sees to Hibana so she can be up to date on their situation and what they might do in order to take them out silently.

"There's two of them up in that tree over there. They're a posted lookout, watching the road judging by the position of their heads. So, whaddya say we surprise them by coming from the forest, instead? We could even circle all the way around them, but leaving them to maybe come back whenever the guard shift changes would be a bit dangerous, I think..."

Raika is already considering just taking them right out, and she's thinking through her Taijutsu to consider the fastest and most efficient way to take them both out, although she'll of course let Hibana take on one of them as well. They're both similar in combat ability, even if Raika was the one that had been made a member of the ANBU Black Ops. The Hyuuga decided that she needed a little more experience in her role as an assassin by sneaking up on the two lookouts first and foremost. It really would be too dangerous to leave them there, especially if things at the bandit camp itself gets loud, although it's also potentially dangerous to leave the bandit camp alone for too long; they'd have to get rid of the duo rapidly and silently, and that meant probably taking them both out at exactly the same time and with maximum damage to ensure an instant and silent death.

Raika was certain the two of them could do so, and she was already starting to lead her fiance around to take her on a loop, keeping silent by climbing through the trees and leaping from one to the other quite quickly, as was the traditional way to move around for Konoha shinobi.

"You know I'd follow you to hell and back my love, lets go then and sneak around. You get the dumb one I'll get the ugly one." She giggled quietly knowing that they were far enough to not be heard with the visual prowess of her lover but still not wanting to take the risk. As Raika began to move Hibana followed swiftly, making sure to keep a few meter distance between herself and Raika. She had to bottle her excitement being out here alone and ready to put up a fight with the one person she cared about more than anything. As the pair moved through the trees like a couple of squirrels Hibana began to steady her breathing. The fun was getting ready to start and she wanted to make sure she did not get distracted by Raika or anything else. She needed to be prepared for action, swift or drawn out, no song left her lips this time. She was focused and ready uncovering her right eye letting her Tennogan enhance her perception. The two of them had not been on a mission together and Hibana looked to try and impress her new Anbu Fiance. As the two men came into view she smirked ready to strike on Raika's order.

The sentries continued their watch, their bickering subsiding into little more than grumbles and pointed looks away from one another. Part and parcel of spending any long period of time with only one other individual, particularly when this was a person whom one didn’t like very much in the first place, was the inevitable drought of conversation topics. Complaining about other rogues back at the camp or about the other man’s smell could only get one so far. So they did what they could to distract themselves from one another. Unfortunately for the two Konohagakure shinobi, this meant doing their jobs. The sneaky approach taken by the two women kept them out of sight, but while the men were not exactly highly-polished soldiers, they were not entirely greenhorns. It was the silence that tipped off the older man that something may have been amiss, the absence of birdsong from behind them, accompanied by the rustling of leaves. Something struck him as odd, but he could not quite place it. Putting a hand to the hilt of his sword, he adjusted his posture somewhat, his head beginning to scan the trees before him, before he began the process of turning over his shoulder. The younger sentinel did no such thing, his eyes scanning an unrelated movement far in the distance.

She can see the one guard looking almost right at her, but her Himitsu no Himitsu isn't going to let him quite be able to see her in the shadows. He at least hasn't tried to get the attention of his buddy, and it helps that it seems like the two of them aren't the best of friends. Underneath the superdark cloth, she pulls the fists of iron over her hands; she won't need to make any hand seals for this job, it would just be a rapid smash and beat. She sure hopes Hibana is ready as well, because she has to pounce on an instant the way Raika does in order to avoid catching the attention of either guard and risking them being able to let out a warning for the other or for the larger group they're protecting.

Raika brings her hands to her mouth and blows through them, releasing a bird-like call, like a whistle; although it was unmistakably a bird call, it was definitively not a bird call native to Konoha. Perhaps that would be a clear enough signal for Hibana, and she certainly hoped it was. A few moments after making the call, she launches herself from her hiding position, Raiton chakra flowing through her metal knuckle dusters as she seems to try to put her entire fist straight through the guard's face. She certainly has the strength to do so, and she has to hope that firmly putting her fist between the one part of his body that could make a loud enough noise to catch the attention of others will keep him from shouting in surprise.

Once the attack has been made, she readies herself to attack the second target, just in case Hibana had not been ready to act as well when the call was made, though she expects that her fiancee will have been clever enough to know that the birdsong didn't match anything native to the Land of Fire and that she was going to need to take swift action.

The two women had split up as they neared the pair of guards. As they grew closer Hibana removed the cover over her right eye. Her Tennogan gave her a view of Raika's chakra signature moving through the trees. She would now be able to time her surprise attack with that of her lovers. She crouched low steadying her breathing as Raika's movements stopped directly across from her a few dozen meters away. The blonde woman watched as Raika's chakra began to grow it was almost time. She gathered her own chakra, lightning coming to life around her legs. She heard the call, the sound of a bird not native to these woods. She was a Namikaze, her formative years were spent running through these trees listening to every animal as the soundtrack to her life. As the sound stopped she moved, her full speed on display as she sprinted toward her target. She had quit watching Raika's chakra, she needed to trust the timing of her partner and focus on her own task. Raika must have been a little closer to the pair, she had burst into view a split second before Hibana. Her path up the tree's trunk seemed instant, the dash across the thick branch took only a few strides. She leapt forward lightning surging around her legs as the hun gar rings around her calves gently rang. With Raika's appearance, Hiabna's target had begun to turn just as she appeared her foot heading towards the side of his neck. The two woman were a force alone, together she was sure nothing could stop them. Chakra Reserves As Hibana grew she realized she had a deep well of chakra within her finding use for it to keep ninjutsu up to enhance her speed far longer than most of the shinobi she had met. Learning about this resource from her time in the academy she has since spent years drinking from this well to make her faster than humanly possible. Her well is not endless however having found herself on the wrong side of chakra exhaustion after a full day of running or combat. Implanted Tennogan After her run in with the Omori Missing Nin Hibana had a new right eye to live with. Having been the recipient of a transplant and not an original Omori clan member Hibana is not able to switch between the two forms of the eye. Instead she is "stuck" with the second stage of the eye. Because her blood is not pure the strain on her chakra is at a constant medium drain level unless covered and not in use. When in use the eye grants Hibana many useful abilities for her taijutsu. The first is the ability to see up to 1km away as well as seeing chakra clearly (Color and size is also known). She is also able to keep up with people and objects moving 2-3x the speed of normal vision. Utilized with her focus on speed and taijutsu this is a deadly ability. Her eyes also see slight movement and faint details such as hand seals, individual beads of sweat, blinking and small detailed movements to a distance of 30 meters.

The older sentry heard the bird call and his ears pricked up immediately. The forest had become eerily silent, the sound was not one that he had been expecting. Worse yet, it was coming from behind their position. An old man in a profession where men usually died young, he was well aware of the common tells in the business of murder. While he did not recognise the bird call, nor would he recognise a bird call from any native species, it’s sudden appearance left him entirely on edge. He would have turned his head toward the sound, but he was slower than he’d have liked. And chaos erupted around him before he could act. His younger partner had been looking away, his mind entirely elsewhere. The sudden coming of violence took him off guard. Raiton and power saw him die before he even realised what was happening, the fist of Raika striking true, and also through, his face. A guttural death rattle was all that he could mutter before his lifeless form slumped to the ground. The preparation of the two women proved to be something of an undoing, for they had allowed the elder of the bandits to settle into discomfort. The bird call, the crackle of lightning chakra, it was all he could do to scream in warning before he too was set upon. "ATT-” Hibana collided into him with force, sending him flying into another tree. He collided with a horrific thud, the warning dying on his lips. The two shinobi had seen to the sentries, but whether the final warning of one of them had been heard would remain to be seen.

Well, at the very least, only one of them even managed to get a word out. They should have perhaps come up with a nonverbal sign for one another to be able to give some sort of signal if they really needed to know when to do something. For now, they would simply have to stop for a moment and watch out to see if there was any increased activity in the missing ninja camp that they were looking to... evacuate. Regardless of their movements, she would need to get a move on; it would be better not to be with the bodies if some scouting group or a replacement for the guards was on their way. After all, this duo had seemed to be quite slow, and that might mean they were almost too tired to continue their lookout duty.

"Let's use this as an ambush. We'll leave the bodies here and you wait somewhere out of sight... If anyone shows up, I have no doubt you can take them on, my little thunder thighs. I'll move on the main camp in the meantime."

With that, Raika quickly leans in to give her future wife a smooch right on the lips, but only a very quick one before leaping from the tree blind and into the thicker canopy of the forest. She's moving rapidly now above the trees, though she knows Hibana is faster under normal circumstances. While Raika cannot move entirely soundlessly, something she may need to work on over the course of some serious training, she can at least move as quietly as other shinobi, and moving above the canopy blocks the view enemies might have of her while her own view of incoming attacks remains perfect, able to see straight through the blocking canopy to peer directly at the camp of missing ninja.

It would do to remember that although they were acting like bandits, they were still trained ninja, and therefore always a threat. She tightens her grip on the Fists of Iron, then floods both her hands with chakra in the form of a pair of lion heads, a technique that only the main house of the Hyuuga clan was meant to know. With this much strength in her fists, she has no doubt that she can take on anyone she meets on the forest floor. So now all that was left was to actually take the plunge.

With a breath in and then out, she leaps through the canopy, aiming her first lion-headed strike at the figure that seemed to be giving orders; if she silenced his orders with a swift enough strike, it might throw the rest into anarchy and confusion. She hoped.

This technique can be used in conjunction with the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms.

She returned her fiance's kiss watching her disappear into the trees. She did not like the idea of them splitting up but trusted Raika's judgement. If they were together they could watch each others back more easily. Still she was tasked with using this blind as an ambush point and would not let her lover down. She knelt down tying her hung gar rings with the leather string attached to them to get them from clanging together before moving to the trees herself. She waited a dozen meters away obscured by the thick foliage of the tree leafs. Her long hand now tied into a high pony tail. The waiting was the worst part for her, her high energy wanted her to be right in the middle of the fray felling foes with her kicks. She focused on the blind and the path leading up to it as her eyes swiftly darted around the forest. Her tennogan would keep her from being surprised from the front as her back was to the tree. She was sure Raika had started her assault and was about to move to help, her restlessness almost getting the best of her before she caught the signature of a couple of chakra natures quickly moving to the blind she was watching. Was it back up to try and gather the two dead men or a shift change moving swiftly to let their comrades go home. She would wait until the perfect time to strike, her speed and skill in taijutsu ready to be put to the test. For a moment, the forest was silent, the only sounds being the words spoken by Raika to Hibana. The call from the second of the sentries was not met with a hustle, nor by shouts in the distance, but by apparent indifference and silence. Could it be that they had not heard the warning? In any case, the two Konohagakure shinobi made their moves, splitting up to take on the former shinobi. The camp, despite the relative silence that had carried into the forest, was awash with activity. Gravelly voices carrying softly, the sounds of the forest washing away the meaning of the words. The leader was clear to see, a short man gesturing rapidly and speaking even faster, sending his small troop of ninjas-turned-bandits into the trees. Two pairs split off quickly, leaving only three individuals left in their makeshift camp when Raika struck. The lion-headed strike would have effectively silenced him, cutting the head off the snake. But he had been expecting something in the way of an attack. Of course, he had not known the direction from which it had come, but the paranoia had given him sufficient forewarning. With an almost whip-like movement, he thrust his spine to the side, allowing his bodyweight to carry him out of the way. Blue eyes turned to look at the woman who had attempted to strike him, and his rough-hewn face hardened into a snarl. With a harsh gesture he flicked his hand toward Raika, and the two shinobi who had stayed with him rushed forth, their movements far less-practised, but the swords they wielded could still do something in the way of damage. Hibana, for her part, would witness one of the pairs close in on the blind that she was watching, their movements halting suddenly. Two women stood, one of them seemingly sniffing at the air, as if trying to track the scent of blood, the other’s eyes peering through the trees, looking for any sort of sign of life. They had not yet seen the blonde shinobi. Regardless, the final two of the bandits had seemingly vanished into the woods, their position hidden.

Dropping down to a split, flipping just over the area of attack, contorting their body into unusual angles and so on. This technique is effectively just a higher degree of training to use either the terrain or the blindspots of an attack to dodge in usual ways so that the user may either more readily escape or press their counter attack.

If Raika is surprised at the bandit leader being able to dodge her strike, it's hidden by the look of disappointment at having what she had thought would be her effective sneak attack miss its target. She stands again quickly to meet with the two new attackers, brandishing blades that could lop off limbs if one was not careful. But Raika had multiple weapons of her own, and makes full use of two of them with a style that most Hyuuga would likely never have made use of. For one of the attackers, she grips at the wrist of his sword arm, and the lion head covering her hand snaps closed, using its teeth to ensure that this man won't be pulling away. Then the ANBU member mercilessly twists the arm while using her Byakugan to keep a close eye on the second, allowing her to aim a snap-fast kick at the point of that bandit's body where the single trunk becomes two legs. Such a strike would be delivered with enough force that if the strike were to land on its intended target, their feet would not maintain connection to the ground. It's followed up with a single palm strike aimed at the diaphragm, and then turning to the second bandit for a palm strike to that target's chest before releasing both.

Now with only the bandit leader left, she turns to face him, although she's also looking all around with her Byakugan to ensure that she's not going to get ambushed herself. DESCRIPTION:
The user changes the shape of chakra released from both hands into large guardian lion-shaped shrouds. Doing so greatly increases range and destructive power. The lion heads drain the chakra network of those they touch. It is an extremely difficult ability to learn, as the slightest mistake in chakra control will lead to failure, meaning it is a feat requiring the Byakugan. This technique can be used in conjunction with the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms.

For use against an opponent attacking with a weapon. The user will grab said opponent’s arm, usually at the wrist but if the weapon blocks this they will grab higher along the arm. After having a firm grip on the opponent they will wrench the arm down and outwards, twisting it at an odd angle and causing the opponent’s grip to weaken enough so that the weapon may be knocked out of their hands.

The user thrusts their palm forward, hitting the enemy’s body with a quick and precise motion. When the technique is used it usually temporarily paralyzes an opponent but the collateral damage is not on par with much more elaborate techniques.
