Tanabata Bamboo As summer winds down, something extraordinary has occurred. Overnight, a giant shooting star has passed over the continent, and in its path towering Tanabata bamboo stalks have mysteriously sprouted throughout the Hidden Villages and beyond. These magical plants have appeared everywhere—training grounds, village squares, and even deep within the forests. Each bamboo came with a special message: write your wishes on colorful paper strips called tanzaku and tie them to the bamboo. Who knows? Maybe your wishes will come true! The entire community is buzzing with excitement. Shinobi and villagers alike are flocking to the bamboo, scribbling down their hopes and dreams. Wishes range from mastering a new jutsu to ensuring a bountiful harvest or bringing peace to their village. Even the smallest desires, like finding a lost toy, are being carefully tied to the bamboo. Every night, the bamboo forests glow softly under the moonlight, adorned with countless tanzaku filled with everyone’s hopes and dreams. Rumor has it that some wishes are coming true! So, are you feeling lucky? Why not join in and see if your wishes take flight too? Just be careful not to wish for world domination—leave some dreams for the rest of us! But take note, a sense of urgency has gripped everyone—it's observed that the bamboo is beginning to change color due to some unnatural chakra in the air, and it appears that the bamboo will wither completely by August 31st, 2024. Momura had actually originally gone with a few followers to try and collect bamboo shoots for the people of Kumogakure. A small volunteer action just outside the village, but hours of searching and there were none. It really didnt make any sense to him why there was all this bamboo and no bamboo shoots. It was the best soup topping after all! Fresh bamboo shoots were awesome. As rumors of the bamboo became more notable Momura began to believe this was a bounty given by Hotei for the collective and their faithful work for the community. Enough for his mentor to return and take him to the bamboo himself.

There he prayed; a simple wish.

Ichi's SA's and Techniques in Use:[break][break]

『Harvest Moon's Child』
Ichi was born to the Nakahara clan on the night of a Harvest Moon. Born with quite the green thumb he was assumed to be an inheritor of the clan's natural talents with plants. The roots ran deeper, however, as Ichi was born with a Kekkai Genkai, being a rare natural occurance of Wood Release outside of the Senju. In learning of this he has trained his kekkai to the best of his abilities. He is no master, seeing as he has no reference of Mokuton, but he has found a way to bring out techniques along side his own talents in a cohesive manner.

Ichi was born with Mokuton, but he was not graced with the same level of chakra as the Senju would be in his situation. Being roughly average for an individual, Ichi instead focused on the skills his birth clan preferred. Practicing his medical skills, he has gained a higher quality of Chakra Control. Ichi is much less likely to leak chakra than the average shinobi because of this.

『The Festival's Atmosphere』
Having practiced his skills with extending his senses outwards with the use of mokuton chakra, Ichi is particularly adept at sensing life in an area. Capable of finding life through the very nature around people. Within [20 meters] Ichi is capable of passively sensing out plant and animal life in a general sense. Able to differentiate it between plant and animal, but no further. Unlike chakra sensory Ichi can not more or less readily sense others based on their chakra, but instead purely senses the 'vitality' in things, though even those with seemingly boundless vitality will read the same as the elderly or a newborn to him. Also unlike usually sensory to actively search out individuals Ichi requires Mokuton, or the use of his pipe (though using it makes his position much easier to locate), as a catalyst to extend his senses, only going out as far as the technique's range, or twice his passive range in case of the pipe. It is also notable that the deceased, and those that feign death in some fashion, as through a poison or a jutsu, are completely invisible to Ichi. Notably the furthest he can extend his senses is [100 meters].[break][break]

Ichi is incredibly smart for someone his age, but he lacks the qualifications to be a scholar. This is because his intelligence is not found in understanding of principles and anything so magnificiently deep. It instead lies in his observational talents and ability to react to everything that is going on around him with an absolute calm. Being able to plan and act with just minute details to go off of, Ichi is best described as a schemer and a diplomat rather than a genius. This makes him perfect for roles that are heavy in Tactical and Diplomatic Decision Making, as he grasps larger images and can put together clues better than others. Effectively allowing him to take in the wider picture of everything going on and piece together practical responses in mere moments with little to no hesitation or error.

It was upon an early morning walk that the Mikatakujira came upon a peculiar bamboo growth throughout the village. She did find a paper and peculiar directions to tie it. Normally, she didn't lean into the superstition and the thought of wishes. But this time was different, she figured why not. So she decided to wish for something as she wrote on the paper.

"The strength to protect,
Lightning beats or crashing waves,
Honor to respect."

Returning to tie the parchment, Kuni walked away, knowing things needed to be done.

Jiongu | Earth Grudge Fear

After having to recycle the roots that ended up killing the previous Apprentice just to transfer Jiongu to Kunikunosaku, the mass of black roots recollects most of its abilities from the Apprentice previous while forming new ones with its new master/host, Kunikunosaku. As far as the roots are concerned, like any organism, it desires to feed and survive, all else is not required, nor necessary to function. As for the Symbiotic Relationship benefits Kunikunosaku can control the thread-like roots however she wishes. The thread are quite versatile, acting much like surgical threads they can be used to sew up wounds stretch, or harden for attacks akin to squid tentacles, as well as being equally flexible and significantly dexterous. In time, Kunikunosaku will learn that as long as they keep a heart attached to at least some of the roots making up her body at all times, she is functionally immortal, only dying once all the threads are completely removed from any living hearts, and is unable to be poisoned. Because all of her vital organs and their corresponding systems are gone, Kunikunosaku has no need to breathe, eat, or sleep. The roots are sufficiently maintained by storing hearts that are pumping and living, in turn drawing sustenance from them. These roots also allow Kunikunosaku to utilize the inherent nature of any hearts she adds to their body, allowing them to perform jutsu of that element as if it was their natural affinity.

Symbiotic Relationship: Mutualism

After gaining knowledge on how Jiongu behaves and acts, Kunikunosaku developed a strong bond with the Jiongu entity. Accepting both live in her now; that both are what makes up Kunikunosaku. As a result of this understanding and bond, Jiongu aids her in combat - despite being a small boost. When conditions are met, Jiongu can provide an aided strength boost to Kunikunosaku during combat. It is still relative to her natural strength at the time. While this has no speed benefits, this boost of strength can put her up to par with the max strength of her peers at the same rank level. As she matures and gains new skills and new statuses. So too does her strength grow.

Symbiotic Bond: Strong Mind, Strong Body
As Kunikunosaku developed a stronger relationship with Jiongu, the creature bestowed Kunikunosaku an additional gift. That which is bestowed grants her the body as strong as her will. As long as she has the will to fight and keep pushing forward, Kunikunosaku has attained a sense of a strong body. She can still feel all the pain she receives, however, her will will push through it; literally making her body push through the pain and maintain functionality despite the egregious wounds she may receive. Overwhelming pain at one time or other will breaking input can debilitate the girl's will-driven tolerance to falter to the degree of an average shinobi, opening her up to common pain. It is this will that allows her to force the tendrils/roots/threads to repair themselves from injury or stitch back together. This will increases with her skill as she becomes more confident and driven to satiate both her needs and Jiongu's.

Power of a God:
After a great time learning how to control Jiongu, Kunikunosaku has learned to store chakra in each of her threads so long as they continue to be attached to at least one of her hearts. This extra storage capacity allows the girl to amass greater amounts of chakra within herself, expanding her reserves beyond that of the normal shinobi her rank. As with many other abilities, this ability continues to grow as the girl does through the ranks and years.

Cursed Master:

As a reward for attaining a greater deal of control over her symbiotic relationship with Jiongu, Kunikunosaku acquired the keys to the gate of mastering her abilities. This new boon allows Kunikunosaku to double the impact of her EGF ninjutsu. In addition, a passive boon is the ability to completely negate Jiongu's manipulation to consume more hearts. These boons together allow Kuni to further manipulate Jiongu against its basic natures, improving her unique utilization. While still young and unrefined, the ability is expected to grow as their bond deepens to even further levels.

Medical Knowledge:

Being from Takigakure's prestigious clan medical clan, Kunikunosaku is also set to learn the human anatomy, biology, and Kinesthetics, While this knowledge DOES NOT give her access to Medical Ninjutsu Techniques, however, the knowledge does unlock abilities of precision to the human body with every attack. This knowledge grants field combat medic aid but nowhere near the degree of those actually trained in it.

Reiashi was a man of contradictions in his own mind. One such set of contradictions was his need for strict discipline, and his habit of indulgence for his own sake. As with most things in the young Hokage's life, it manifested in a form of measured usage of both, trying to self optimize both self control and acting purely for oneself interest. In the past, minor pranks and lighthearted play had been enough to act as an equalizer between the workload and the Gure's own mental checks. Yet in his time as the Kyuudaime was adding more stress, a stress that demanded a greater release of pressure. The Uzumaki could see how the position often caused others to take to alcoholism or other substances to avoid becoming jaded.

Thus came the solution: every now and then, Reiashi would do something purely for his own sake. This was the trail run of this attempted solution. He would make a wish purely in his own interests, rather than that of the village or wishing on behalf of others. In truth it could result in adding to the stress, causing immense guilt from his selfishness, but he could then alter his approach later. So, with a small tag containing his wish in hand, Reiashi approached the bamboo stalk, placing the tanzaku to the bark in hopes of something coming of this.

The young boy approached the bamboo with his family, a once in a lifetime occurrence, where ones wish may come true. And the boy yawned as they marched towards it in the early morning.

Couldn't we have come later in the afternoon?

It was almost being treated like a shrine visiting ceremony, come early, pay respects, write down a wish and take a fortune. You'd think they'd be a bit less formal for something that literally just popped up out of nowhere. Adults couldn't help themselves, he supposed, and soon it was his turn. To write a wish? Or something more? Truthfully, he wasn't taking this too seriously, it wasn't like he actually expected his wish to come true after all. And yet, instead of writing something quick and fun, he actually thought for a moment before writing down a set of words and running back towards the village. Come on! Let's see if they set up any festival stalls~ And so his day began, with his tanzaku paper just as lively waving in the breeze.

This is so troublesome But I guess I’ll do it.

Shadows danced along the forest floor as the sun set and bathed everything in an orange light. Nestled between the trees stood a lonely bamboo stalk, unadorned unlike it’s brethren that had sprouted in Konoha. Chances were that none would come and find it and that suited Satoshi just fine.

Gently, from a pocket of his jacket, the Nara took out a couple of tanzaku papers, all with different colors, yet having the same handwriting. A heavy breath, followed by rustling, as Satoshi quietly began to tie the papers.

"I wish for my name to be remembered!”

The yellow paper brought memories of childhood, of a rock filled with jagged spikes.

"I wish to never stop improving.”

The white paper carried hints of ice, yet filled with flaming determination and a dash of lavender eyes.

"I wish to not be a burden.”

The purple paper seemed like it would fly off at any moment, yet he knew that despite it’s seeming fragility, the quiet consistency it represented would hold it in place.

"Heh,I need no wish to get what I want!”

As if the inferno of arrogance would have written something as silly as a wish… the loss still burned at him.

Finally, he picked up the last one… his own tanazku. Looking at what he had written Satoshi couldn’t help a snort as he rubbed at this eyes. "I should have written a haiku.”

"I wish… for another chance and to not be alone.”

With a sniff and without looking back Satoshi left the forest as dusk descended. The creeping shadows, of the trees, on his back were chased away by the gentle light of the bamboo shoot.
