It wasn't the answer he wanted, but Yaki's response did help put things in perspective for the young shinobi as the prospect of having to ask something of Manda was downright terrifying and probably would have come with another one of the snake's challenges; these serpents sure did love their challenges for some reason. Besides, what good was taking all this time to get in tune with nature and train under the serpents if he couldn't call upon them when needed? Seemed like hustling backwards to him, and Mairusu was confident taht the snakes would see it the same way if he ever had to explain himself. The feeling of something crawling up his arm prompted the look over and sure enough the snake that had been coiled around the contract was now staring him in the face, no doubt wanting the best seat in the house to see what decision the apprentice would make. The genin stopped short of asking the serpent for advice as it hadn't said a word this entire time and didn't look particularly pleased to be here, but considering it was the protector of the contract and would no doubt report to the other snakes about any changes to it that wasn't the worst idea in the world. "Fine fine, but if I get yelled at because of this we're gonna have words." They wouldn't. Yaki was terrifying. Looking back at the scroll he could see the names of various other signers, some familiar and others a complete mystery, and it was time to add his name to the long list of those who could call upon the snakes. Biting his thumb just hard enough to draw blood the boy would sign his name on an open space before holding up the scroll and taking a look at his handiwork, all that simulated practice with the summoning technique had prepared him for this moment even if it was a little backwards. "Alright, I guess that's that." He didn't feel any different, not that the boy knew if he was supposed to or not, but there was no strange sensation washing over him or anything of the sort, no rush of power now that he had signed the contract yet there was a feeling of confidence coursing through him with an added boon to his arsenal. ▲
