Eko sat in her room meditating, sitting on her floor with her life blade on her lap. She would think to herself on what she should do today, before having the idea of going to the gym. That was something simple and fun she liked to do. And with it being late at night this was the perfect time for her to go and avoid seeing many people. She was quite a mysterious figure in Iwagakure and she wanted to keep this illusion up as long as possible. It kept people away from her and she honestly wanted it that way for the most part. Her socially awkward behavior wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

She would make her way to her feet and change into her gym clothes, before grabbing her cloak and heading out the door. With her cloak on she appeared as nothing more than a shadowy figure in the cover of night, nobody being able to see her face or bodily features. It was because of this cloak that Eko was viewed as such a mysterious figure. She would soon arrive to the gym which was almost completely empty aside from about a handful of people. She liked it that way and was happy to be able to start her work out.

She would take off her cloak sitting it off to the side in the corner, before she would begin to eye up all of the different gym equipment options. The first thing she would look at is the treadmill, as it was probably her favorite thing to use. The treadmill was also probably the biggest part of her workout routine as she was big on working on conditioning. She would go on and hop onto the treadmill, cranking the elevation before also turning up the speed. She would begin to run at a decent and upward pace. Running made her feel good and she felt more at ease with the fact nobody was really in the gym right now.

She would continue on running for at least the next 20 minutes or so, before turning the machine off and getting off. Before she would move on to the next activity she would take a small break to get herself some water and wipe off her sweat. As she drank her water she could sense Gengetsu trying to talk to her but for the moment she would block out the sounds of the blade. However the faint voice of the blade becoming stronger and louder would make the woman begin to think on hearing it out.

Moving on to her next activity she would head over towards the dumbbell weights. While in truth Eko was no super strong individual however due to the weight she often carried on her arms and legs she wasn’t weak by any means. She would pick up 2 of the 25 pound dumbbells, before making her way to the bench so that she could do curls. As she sat down and began to do her curls Eko could feel Gengetsu trying to talk to her again she wanted to ignore it but she could tell that the soul was being persistent. She would stop from doing her curls before sending a small burst of chakra to one of the many seals spread across her body.

Upon sending the chakra to the seal the seal would release her life blade into the air next to her where she would then grab it. Sitting down the weight she would grip onto her life blade tightly, as she would close her eyes and begin to concentrate on the sword and their bond. Upon gaining her focus she would find herself within her inner world, or more specifically the inner world that her and Gengetsu shared.

The inner world appeared very similar to a dojo, a place that most samurai would come to practice their craft and meditate. However one thing that would set this dojo apart was the fact that their was a cage very close to the back of the room. From where Eko stood one could see nothing in the cage as the blackness of the shadows covered its contents. However you could soon see the light of a set of eyes begin to glow, and a voice could be heard coming from the cage.

"Eko you haven’t spoken to me today, is everything okay between us?” The voice would say ever so solemnly. Eko would approach the cage and stopping right in front of it with her saying "What is it that you want Gengetsu? I was trying to train before you rudely interrupted me.” The voice within the cage would get closer, as the figure within would stand up and come towards the bars. Coming forward was a rather tall woman wearing a white and black outfit, with blue hair and a ver evil looking smile. "I just wanted to be sure you hadn’t completely forsaken me. Ive been sealed up within your body for some time now. The last time you used me was during your last fight of the chuunin exams.”

Eko heard the words coming from the woman and after she had spoken, the red eyed samurai would simply scoff. "You know why you are locked away in that cage. I hope that was not why you have decided to call me in here. You are nothing but a liability to me, you and your blood thirsty behavior is far too unacceptable at times. That is why I would rather use a normal katana over you, I may lose the power that you bring but at least I don’t have to worry about the bloodlust that comes with that power.” Eko would then turn her back on the woman as she waited for her to reply.

Gengetsu would let out a bit of a laugh before replying saying "You know how I am though, I am literally a part of you! You can’t be mad at me for being this way, when in reality you should be mad at yourself for making me like this haha. I just want my friend back, my life long partner. So how about we put the past in the past and you let me on out of this cell? I promise things will be different this time.”

Eko listened to the words that the woman said feeling them to all be lies, however in having this conversation she began to think about the exact incident that caused the two to drift apart in ideals. It was during the chuunin exams and Eko was in the final round, and from the looks of things she was very likely to lose the match. However Gengetsu did not want Eko to lose and sensed her desperation to win, deep within her. Knowing that Eko would not do what needed to be done Gengetsu would make herself move ever so slightly which would cause Eko to blind her opponent by stabbing him in the eye.

Gengetsu did this not because of her bloodlust, but because she was trying to be helpful to Eko and her goals. In fact Gengetsu’s bloodlust was a direct result of Eko and her dislike of killing or getting her hands stained with the blood of her enemies. Eko would turn back around to face Gengetsu and would let out a sigh before saying "How do I know things will be different this time? How do I know that you will not hurt people beyond what I allow? You have to understand that I am the master, and you are my sword! We can’t have a meaningful relationship if you wish to carry on as if you are in charge, and free to do what you want.”

Gengetsu would sigh as she heard Eko’s response, seemingly annoyed by the fact her master would have her locked inside of a cage not free to use her power. "Eko when will you learn that we are equals. I need you as much as you need me, and vice versa. A master does not need a subordinate, and without me you are only at half power. We aren’t meant to be one, so release me from this prison and allow me to make you stronger!” Gengetsu would then hold her hand out thru the gaps in between the cell bars, wishing for Eko to grab ahold.

Eko would look at the woman's extended hand thinking on if she should accept her back. Eko knew that the woman was not wrong and that they were stronger together, however she knew that she couldn’t keep letting Gengetsu believe she could do as she pleased. Eko would begin to pump chakra into her hand, in preparation to meet hands with Gengetsu. Once Eko’s chakra covered hand would grab Gengetsu’s she would begin to flood the sword spirit with a painful chakra. Gengetsu would slowly drop to the ground in pain, all while Eko made sure to keep holding her hand.

As Eko held onto Gengetsu the pain would intensify as the samurai began to speak saying "If I let you out you have to promise to be on your best behavior. Regardless if we are partners or master and subordinate, our ideals must align with each others. You can’t keep talking this partners crap if you are gonna work only as an individual. We need to be a team!” Her words were deep felt and although the sword spirit was in pain she would laugh before making her way back to her feet. She would break the grip Eko had on her hand before pulling her hand back to her side as she sighed.

Gengetsu would peer into Eko’s eyes, the fiery red globes staring at the spirit. She would then say to her "Fine, we can try to make this work on your terms. However don’t you think that I will allow you to be some weak timid chump. Imma need you to be more aggressive in your approach. Your skills for your age are far too amazing to be wasted being scared. Toughen up little girl and maybe I won’t seem like such a monster. Im not expecting you to change over night but you must do it if you want to grow.”

With the words exchanged the two had come to an agreement of sorts, where their bond could once again begin to build. The cage that appeared around the woman would disappear soon after allowing Gengetsu to be free. She would look to Eko and say "Let us be a team once more…” letting off an evil grin. Eko would then leave out of her inner world, leaving the sword no response. Once back and actually in the real world she would see a man standing in her face. This man was just some random guy who happened to be in the gym, but he was concerned for Eko due to how long she was sitting there.

She would come to her senses and say to him "Im fine no need to worry. Thanks for the concern though.” She would then jump up before grabbing her cloak and scurrying away to a different part of the gym. She would make her way to what she would call the dojo, as it was a wide open room where the walls were all mirrors. The mirrors made it a good space for practicing her swordsmanship as she could see herself from every angle. As she entered the room she would still be holding her life blade and could hear Gengetsu’s voice speaking and saying "Let me show you something. Use me to draw blood and then say my name…”

Eko listened to the words of the sword not truly understanding what she could be trying to get her to do. She would however oblige and make a small cut on her finger, allowing the blood to touch the sword. It was in that moment the sword would begin to glow, and Eco suddenly got a feeling within almost as if she knew what to do. She would drop the tip of the sword into the ground watching the blood run down the length of the blade as she said "Reshape the world, Gengetsu!”

The blade would then change shape, turning from a normal katana into a massive sword that looked similar to a khyber knife. Eko gazed upon the sword in amazement, not knowing what had happened. She knew that the life blade was a wild concept but she never thought that it could fully transform in such a way. She would grab hold of the new blade’s hilt and instantly could hear Gengetsu. The sword would begin to speak once more saying "This is the extent of my power you can handle at this moment. I shall reserve giving you more until you prove yourself worthy of the full amount.”

Eko was still amazed by the new form her blade had taken, she wasn’t even sure if she would be able to wield such a large weapon. She would gather her strength as she gripped the hilt of the blade before pulling it up from the ground. She would hold it up in a high guard like she would normally hold her katana, while it felt weird at first she would adjust after a moment or so. She would then begin to swing the blade about trying to get a feel for the new weapon. After about 5 minutes or so she was very tired and winded from using the giant blade, she did not see herself being able to use such a thing on a normal basis.

Needing to take a break she would decide to consult Gengetsu herself, returning to her inner world. Upon arrival she would see Gengetsu sitting in the middle of the dojo meditating, Eko would immediately say "I don’t understand. Why is this sword so big? I can barely use this thing!” Gengetsu would scoff before coming to her feet and saying "That sounds like a skill issue little girl. Maybe if you keep practicing you will get the hang of it… or maybe I was just wrong and you aren’t ready for that much of my power.” Eko’s face would look angry as she heard Gengetsu’s words, but part of her felt like she was right.

Gengetsu would stand from her meditative position before walking over to the wall on her left side. The wall would contain 2 copies of Gengetsu, with both versions of the sword being present. It was a very flashy display of swordsmanship for sure, with the woman at one point using the cloth on the end of the sword to swing it around for mid range use. Eko was at the very least impressed, and it could easily be seen on her face. Gengetsu would chuckle saying "You like that huh? I could teach you a bit of those moves… but hun you need to put some more muscle on those bones. Maybe that’s why you complaining about the size haha.”

Eko would look at her arms as Gengetsu pointed out how weak she was. She was not wrong in the slightest Eko was very small, her muscles nowhere near capable of using such a large weapon for actual battle. This was something she would need to work on, and her face showed that she knew it. Gengetsu would place a hand on Eko’s shoulder and say "Come back to me when you actually have the strength to wield me in this form. Until then stick to what you know and use my base form. Just know the difference in power is something you will notice.”

Eko would take these words to heart and she would immediately leave the inner world, her blade returning to its base form upon her exit. Eko would then spend the next several months wearing fuinjutsu weights on her arms and legs in an effort to help her train her strength. She would never take the weights off, not even to sleep. Such a thing was hard on her body in the beginning but as the months went on she would grow used to the weights placed on her body. And within a short span of 3 months Eko would cease to know that they even were there.

By the time Eko had been wearing the weights for half a year she had grown incredibly strong. The swings of even her base life blade now carried great power behind them. She thought maybe now she would be able to wield it in its transformed state now. However she was still afraid to try, allowing the words of Gengetsu to scare her into submission. Eko would find it within herself to push past this fear however, as one night she would return to the gym and made her way to the room of mirrors.

Once she had returned to the room of mirrors she would place the sword into the ground once more allowing it to draw her blood. The blood would slide down the edge of the blade, she would watch it as she thought to herself *I hope that I can do better this time. I have worked for months to become strong enough to wield this blade.* She would then say the command to activate the transformation, and within a matter of seconds the simple katana would transform into the oversized khyber knife. Eko would take hold of the hilt to hear Gengetsu say "Oh what’s this? You dare t try and wield me in my transformed state? You must have gotten stronger…” Eko would ignore her words, simply taking the large blade into her normal high guard so she could begin to practice.

As the practice session would begin Eko would do nothing but take simple swings. A few downwards vertical strikes, a few horizontal slashes, and a few thrust just to start things off simple and easy. So far she had seen a big improvement versus when she first had gained the ability to use the blade in such a state. It seemed that she truly had gotten stronger as the blade no longer felt heavy in her hands, and at this point it felt no different than when she was using it in her katana form.

Now that Eko had slowly begun to build up more confidence in using the sword in its new form, she would begin to try and do her self made attack patterns. By doing her self made attacks with the sword in this state she would be sure that she had made actual progress. She would start by setting up a training dummy made out of the same material as a tatami mat, once the dummy was set she would be ready to begin. The first move she would do was Ichi no Kata: Keifū - Tengu Kaze, a simple move consisting of a simple frontal thrust. She would do the thrust at least 20 times before she would move on to the next attack.

After a few minutes she would move on to using Ni no Kata: Kogarashi Oroshi, in comparison to the first it was much more complex a move. It consisted of a circular slash that was able to deflect projectiles, but with the sword’s new form it would be much more effective due to its increased size. Although she couldn’t block any projectiles for practice she could still do the move and look at herself in the mirror to see how her form looked. She would do this move at least 30 times, due to not being able to truly practice with full effect. However when she watched herself in the mirrors she could tell that swinging such a large weapon in more complex ways was still somewhat hard to her. *Needs work.* she thought to herself in regards to how she looked performing it.
