Not everyone loved the rain. Yako did, but not everyone else did. Now, what Yako didn't like? Was getting rained on. See, Yako liked to watch the rain. From a safe distance. Usually under a nice umbrella. So why oh why, was our good man getting rained on right now?

Because he was forced to. Training, or some nonsense. If you could even call this training. He was just running around doing chores for his instructor. How the hell was that supposed to be training? He was literally picking up snacks for her. Bullshit.

Well, one thing you learned real quick in the military- You followed superior orders or your life was hell.

Unfortunately, Yako didn't learn fast. So, finally tired of carrying all this crap for her, and honestly with sore as hell arms, he dropped the two bags of candy and chips onto the ground as he groaned out loud.

"Ugh." Yes, 'ugh' was about how he felt right now, as he sat down on the ground and rubbed his arms. Rain fell on top of his head in droves, but honestly, he was too tired to drag himself over under a tree or something.

So there he was, sacks on the ground around him, snacks spilled out, and rain falling on his head. He grumbled. What a miserable day.

Yako glanced up at the woman who had suddenly sprung upon him. White hair, a soft face, and an umbrella for him? The boy slowly pushed himself up to his feet, brushing himself off as he shivered a bit. Fuck. This was embarrassing.

"Yeah. I guess so. Thanks. I just need a moment to catch myself." He glanced around, looking for shelter. There was an awning of rock some distance away- The village in the clouds often had many outcroppings of rock and mountain to cover certain areas from the cold wind and rain.

But for the moment, he regained his strength.

" ...So whats the name of my unlikely savior?" He'd question. Being polite cost him nothing. Neither did being a jerk, but he felt like being polite right now, if only because this girl was... Really pretty. And she might be his age. Oh man. Was luck going to be on his side?

... The voice in his head told him not to push it. But since when did that ugly mug get a say in his interests? His beastly side was totally the reason he didn't score with his academy instructor, after all.

Calling him a big guy? That was certainly one way to put a flush on the males cheeks, as he scratched his chin and grabbed the bags once again.

"Suisei, huh? That's a cute name. Fits you- You're pretty cute to go with it." He complimented her as calmly as one would compliment a good natured smile- Yako wasn't really one to hold back such things anyways and, really, he found Suisei to be quite attractive, on second appearance.


Not that she wasn't on the first, as he nodded over towards the rocky outcropping to shelter them both from the rain.

"As for this junk? Just carrying groceries." He thought about telling her the truth, that these were for someone else, but...

"You know, some snacks for myself. But... I'd be willing to share if you wanted. You know, for helping me out here." Holding an umbrella wasn't exactly helping out but Yako was quite intent on keeping this girls attention.

"You can call me Yako, by the way."

Whoah. She shot back with the idea of him being handsome, which really was enough to sway his mind like mad. Maybe this was it? Maybe he'd finally found someone who lived on his wavelength? They walked over to the rocks, covering themselves from the rain for now.

She even called his name beautiful. A voice in his head was suddenly screaming to be careful, but truth be told, Yako wasn't listening. If this woman wanted to clash with the beast, she'd get the full package, right? They could handle it together.

Still, that didn't stop the blush on his face, as he responded back.

"Heh... You think so? Well... If you're going to stare at my good looks..." He pulled out a box of poki, as he held it out to the girl. As he did, his eyes shot to the hand that seemed to be limp, rubbing his chin.

"You should take some of these. I uh- I just like to keep myself stocked." He shrugged. It was a fib, a lie, but whatever. He didn't really want to talk about his Ninja life, it wasn't really worth it.

Especially when he could flirt with this girl instead.

"My favorite is the chips, but uh... You know, all of it is pretty good." He set off a toothy grin as he leaned back against the stone.

"You got anywhere to be? I could share the rest of these with you here and uh... Watch the rain together." He pretty much just offered a date, but he didn't really understand the concept of a date so to him, it was more like, sit there eat snacks and talk.

"Nowhere at all." She hums, carefully peeling and sweeping her mildly soaked hair over her shoulders and away from her back. Then she takes a seat, lightly settling upon the shared bench with a laugh. "Watching the rain with some wonderful company sounds fun."[break][break]

Though mostly brushed against her skirt, damp fingers find the tab of the box with ease, slipping under the corners as she gently pries it open. And the slick fingerprints she leaves on the foiled wrapper as she pulls it out.[break][break]

Yako glanced down at her hand. Had something happened to her? Right, he'd been so busy staring at her face and hair he hadn't bothered to look over the rest of her body.

It looked like she couldn't use her hand. He looked away. There were a lot of things he could say in this moment. Really lewd things, really blunt things, but...

Well, Yako was blunt, but he wasn't socially inept. He moved his hands forward, gently tearing open the sweet treat- Assuming she allowed him- As he glanced up at her.

"Hey. No shame in getting a little help. Payback for helping me out in the rain, right?" He gave another shark toothed grin, as he glanced back at the bag of snacks, pulling out some beef jerky for himself.

"What happened to your hand, anyways? Looks like it got messed up pretty bad." He mentioned as he stared out at the rain. Now that was a blunt way of going about it, without being completely socially deaf. There were no alarm bells in his head right now, which was surprising, considering usually that side of him had strong feelings on this sort of thing. Romance and the like. It was pitiful.

But she hadn't flashed any red flags yet, so the other side of Yako kept itself quiet.

She doesn't resist as he moves in to help, her eyes tracing her fingers as they weave and crook to open the foil. And once it's open, she gingerly plucks one out and places the packet on her lap.[break][break]

"Bandits." Blunt questions are met with simple answers, ones that refuse to let her emotions get the better of her. And yet, there's no helping the traces of sadness that cloud her expression. "I was pretty young. Barely a shinobi. I was supposed to run and hide."[break][break]

Thumbing the poki between her left fingers, she rolls it over and over. All until she can finally let out a quiet laugh.[break][break]

Looking over the girl as she spoke of bandits, Yako bit his lip. He looked out towards the rain, taking some of the jerky into his mouth as he idly thought about that, rubbing his nose.

"No kidding? Well, you're alive... So I'd say you did pretty well." Usually, when bandits attack and you get injured, you don't make it out alive. But that was just what Yako had seen. What he'd heard. What they had heard.

"We..." He caught himself there. Third person wasn't a good look right now.

"I, lost someone close to me as well, to bandits." One that set him on his entire career path, as it were. One that made him sure he had to survive at all costs, and fight.

"It's a bit why I'm training to become a Shinobi right now, actually. It's a little different though..." He glanced over at her hand.

"The scars I have aren't so clearly visible." He didn't elaborate on that, he just chewed at his jerky as he glanced out over the rain again. Silent understanding, he hoped.

"It's fine. Not your fault or anything. How badly is the hand damaged? Think maybe a good Shinobi Medic could fix it?" He'd ask. Not everyone had access to top of the line doctors, so he had to wonder if, in fact, she could get her hand fixed.

If not, though, he'd just silently nod along.

"Sucks that happened to you though. Bad thing shouldn't happen to pretty girls." He blurted that one out, as blunt as a sledgehammer. He didn't really care if he was hitting on her though, or flirting with her. If she didn't like it, she could just say something.

That was how he ran, simply put.
