While wooden products are fairly normal all across Bonchi no Kuni for obvious reasons, these wooden products are made from a heartland tree that is known to be protected and sacred by the Bonchi no Kuni Daimyo. Talk to or interrogate the merchants selling these goods to find out where they're getting their supply.

out on a limb MISSION RANK: C NPC REQUIRED: Optional RANDOM MISSION SCENARIO: Enabled PARTICIPANTS: Netsu Midori, Netsu Samemaru DESCRIPTION: After learning the origin of this heartland tree wood being used for wooden products without the express permission of the Daimyo, ninja have been sent out to investigate (but not yet interfere with) the apparent logging operations that have been going on in secret in Bonchi no Kuni's wilderness. While a simple espionage mission in most villages would not normally be very dangerous, keep in mind that the ninja must travel through untamed wilderness, often untouched by human hands for months at a time, and so wildlife and even plant life has the potential for danger, even without the danger of being caught snooping around a logging operation. Must have completed "Nipped in the Bud".

beating around the bush MISSION RANK: C NPC REQUIRED: No RANDOM MISSION SCENARIO: Enabled PARTICIPANTS: Unassigned DESCRIPTION: With confirmation of the suspected logging operations comes a new mission: now a ninja squad must be dispatched to deal with these logging operations by force. To show them the seriousness of their actions, lethal force is authorized against any civilians involved in the logging operation, though it is possible only their escorts will attempt to stop or combat the shinobi. The lethal order stands. Must have completed "Out on a Limb".

DESCRIPTION: Following the routing of the logging camp, a new mission has been added in order to safeguard the sacred grove of trees by producing static defenses. A team of ninja is going to need to go out into the wilderness once more, this time with the goal of digging trenches and providing other defenses as deemed necessary in order to protect these trees from further logging attempts. Of course, with the loud machinery of the loggers gone, this new group of ninja might attract curious beasts or predatory plant life to investigate... Must have completed "Beating around the Bush".

barked up the wrong tree MISSION RANK: B NPC REQUIRED: Yes RANDOM MISSION SCENARIO: Enabled PARTICIPANTS: Unassigned DESCRIPTION: Unexpectedly, it seems that the logging camp was orchestrated by a rival missing ninja with deep pockets attempting to economically harm Takigakure by flooding the economy with wood products, not having realized that this sacred wood had tipped off Takigakure too early for his strange roundabout plan to have succeeded in its infancy. Takigakure does not take kindly to foreigners with no regard for the wilderness. Remove the missing ninja's influence from this world. Must have completed "Beating around the Bush".
