Promotion System Overview
1. As a base rule, all characters must complete a minimum of 4 threads between character creation and attempting a promotion. If they get said promotion then they must complete another 4 threads between each following promotion.
2. You can get one mid-rank SA [Special Ability] and one rank-up SA during each rank. Any SA not obtained during the specified rank will be lost forever.
3. Missions that were used for a mid-rank SA appeal during the specified rank can still serve as proof for promotion appeal.
4. Threads used for any SA acquisition cannot be used again for another SA acquisition.
Note: There is an appeal process, and this is merely a guideline staff will use when seeing your application for a promotion. The application does not necessarily have to follow every single mark that is needed, but it is what someone should aim for. The application must also mention how much the character has grown ICly in terms of what they have gone through and experienced and how it changed them for the better.Academy Student to Genin Requirements:- Three lesson threads [Lesson threads can not be done solo. They are to be taught by another ninja of chuunin rank or higher. This can be a PC or an NPC done by staff.]
- Acquire all academy jutsu
- Graduation exam thread
Rewards:- Upon promotion, the character will be granted either jutsu to bring the character up to par with a freshly created Genin or if they've surpassed that amount they will be granted free jutsu. See the chart at the bottom of the post.
- Ability to add/upgrade new equipment/s with their promotion [Except for items created by a civilian blacksmith.*].
- Ability to upgrade their familiar with their promotion if any.
- Allowed to solo/participate in D-rank missions and participate in C-rank missions.
- Allowed to have one chakra affinity.
Note: If all the genin teams are filled, then upon graduation an additional genin team group will be added. Only academy students who graduated would be permitted to join this team as members, however. The exception is Jounin as a team leader. This way a single academy student would not just rush through the academy to unlock a new genin team for heavily populated villages.
Genin to Chuunin

- 3 D-rank or C-rank missions
- Water and Tree Walking Jutsu. Those incapable of using or learning these will be exempt.

Note: If all potential positions for a chuunin are filled, an additional Ops Team group will be made. Only shinobi who have gained the chuunin rank IC'ly will be permitted to join it, the exception being the team's leader. However, all potential chuunin slots must be filled. If for some reason the staff believes that the character has not earned chuunin status, they may be raised to Adv. Genin instead.

*Items made by a Civilian Blacksmith:Items made by civilian blacksmiths do not rank up when your character is promoted. To obtain a higher-rank item crafted by civilian blacksmiths, the item must be crafted again, proportional to the item's new rank. **Exception to Chuunin Exam Participation:1. Participation in 2 site events, along with Kage approval, qualifies them for promotion. IE. Taking part in 2 Chuunin exams, even if failed, could qualify them as long as they get Kage approval.
2. Kages are allowed to run their exams for promotion. It's an event that needs to be turned in, looked over, and accepted. But is an alternative to the National Exams.
