ranking guidelines.

Abilities for weapons will be judged on a case by case basis. Certain abilities may be considered 'weaker' and allow more to be set upon a weapon, while some abilities may be extremely 'powerful' and limit what other abilities may be placed upon a certain rank weapon. Keep in mind that choosing chakra conductive or reactive will likely make the other abilities paired with it need to be on the 'weaker' side or require a rank up. This is merely a guide into how weapons will be graded, a general rule.

Here are some general guidelines:

E Rank: Supplementary equipment that has little (if any) offensive purposes. This includes items such as radios, batteries, cameras. These are items that could be entrusted to the youngest of shinobi without fear of them injuring themselves.
-basic weaponry/no special abilities-

D Rank: Equipment that tends to be ineffective unless the opponent is caught off guard; as the use can be easily y dodged, blocked, or avoided for even genin-level shinobi. These are low level pieces of equipment and tend to be small in size. Bells, Kunai, Shuriken, Senbon. On their own the damage tends to not be very significant.
-basic weaponry/no special abilities-

C Rank: Equipment that is known for injuring opponents or taking damage (defensive equipment.) Not the most durable or versatile in abilities. This can range from plain larger weaponry to minutely individualistic spins on basic weaponry. C-rank equipment includes Bows, Axes, Staffs, Katanas, Explosive Tags, and Flak Jackets.
-generally basic weaponry/can have 1 ability [non-chakra conductive/reactive]-

B Rank: Equipment may be very powerful and adds another layer of personalization as well as its most common addition of Chakra Conductiveness. This Equipment tends to be a little more than basic, such as a chain wind staff.
-complicated equipment/can have 1 ability PLUS Chakra Conductive/Reactive-

A Rank: More powerful equipment entrusted to higher level shinobi. Proven to have high abilities in durability, strength, or effectiveness. It is the abilities of these said weapons that start to truly set them apart at a higher level.
-advanced equipment/can have 2 abilities PLUS Chakra Conductive/Reactive-

S Rank: Grand tier equipment that only the strongest and most skilled of shinobi can get their hands on. These items offer great abilities to its owner as long as they have the skill to wield it.
-master equipment/can have 3 abilities PLUS Chakra Conductive/Reactive-

ranking guidelines.

Chakra Conductive - "Lays there and takes it like the dirty weapon it is." This is the versatile side of when a weapon can utilize chakra efficiently. Chakra Conductive provide weapons the ability to hold a slight charge of chakra over a short period of time as well as enable one to use jutsu through them seamlessly. A conductive weapon will take any type of chakra that is presented to it with more minimal effects. This gives it immense versatility as it can have usefulness in a large spectrum of elements and techniques. This choice, however, will cause it to be lacking in more specific and powerful abilities such as its counterpart can acquire.

By Default Conductive Grants the user these effects when elemental chakra is channeled through. For those who are able to utilize KKG that mix these base elements, the effects can be activated at the same time when utilizing said KKG
[ex. Hyōton = Suiton + Fuuton. So one's weapon would be swifter as well as more flexible.]

Katon – The metal becomes warmer to the touch, not devastating effects but painful.
Fūton – Allows more buoyancy and lightness to be swifter in small degrees.
Suiton – Flexible and absorbs a minuscule amount of impact.
Raiton – A slight enhancement to sharp edges as well as developing some static.
Doton – Small increase in weight and durability.

Chakra Reactive [Chakra Infusion] - This is the more specified but potentially deadly of the two. While it can't react efficiently to any type of chakra that is poured into it, reactive weapons have a more effective ability in its one avenue/element. While it isn't as versatile, the reactions to the chakra are more potent than its counterpart. This is where you would assign an element to a weapon.

---

Taking a second Chakra Reactive or a second Chakra Conductive ability on one piece of equipment will take up an extra slot. i.e. An S-rank with a two Conductive abilities would only have three total slots instead of four.

Below will be the general guideline utilized for what rank of weaponry and how many of said rank a specific shinobi can have. Organized by their abilities in Bukijutsu, this knowledge granting them the expertise and experience to be able to handle more weaponry and more powerful weaponry than that of their peers. For the case of Generalists, they will be counted as Secondary for this chart.

There will be a little bit of wiggle room within the chart. The basic idea being that if you combine two of a lower rank weapon, they can be given up in order for the character to be granted a single weapon of the rank above. There is also the possibility that a character specializing in another field may have reasoning to carry specific equipment of a higher rank. Though these cases may be few and far between. As stated, the staff will be using this chart as a guideline and will make specific judgement as needed.

-As C/D/E ranks are near unlimited in their number to be owned, they are NOT able to be traded in for more weapons of a higher rank.-
