Their former leader crumpled towards the ground but Hakurei was quick enough to catch her, handing her off to Kabuto and guarding their retreat. He watched as the others battled some sort of monstrosity, the likes of which he had never seen. He noticed the scroll on the ground but hesitated just long enough for Taro to scoop it up instead. That was good. It could be important. It could be nothing. Hopefully it wasn't trapped. Regardless, their mission was complete as far as he was concerned. "Retreat!” He called out to Ryuunosuke, echoing the others and thinking it may be easier to fight the creature in the confines of the tunnels rather than this large open area. He hoped the Nakajima would listen to reason but he highly doubted that he would.

Yuki Hakurei Nakajima Taro Imagawa Takumi Nakajima Ryuunosuke

With Emiri secured and in the hands of their fellow shinobi, most of the team felt that it was a reasonable idea to retreat, prepared to make an escape back into the tunnels.

For a moment, it seemed that Ryuunosuke had the beast occupied. When he pushed himself into the air and came down with a mighty swing, planting his sword in the monstrous centipede's carapace, it gave a mighty screech and thrashed wildly, the sound and force enough to rattle the room and make ice drop from the ceiling. Ryuunosuke's body being made of pure flame was enough to prevent him from being crushed against the ice as the creature flailed, but it was still a wild ride, and the flailing only became more intense when he exercised Cremation: Geyser upon it.

In an instant, the creature went up in flames. For a wonderful moment, Ryuunosuke thought he'd really incinerated the beast as it was consumed by flames and vanished.

...But then it reappeared. At the mouth of the cave, blocking the exit. Some sort of body flicker technique? The creature was faster than its appearance belied!

When the creature once again opened its terrible jaws, the ANBU by Kabuto's side formed a series of hand seals and created a barrier, hopefully to protect Emiri from the flames.

But when fire spewed from the centipede's jaws, it didn't seek Emiri. It sought Taro.

Seemed like this creature was defending the scroll, and not attempting to kill Emiri.

A circle of fire filled the air and traced towards Taro.

With the massive centipede blocking the exit, how would they proceed? It seemed weakened by Ryuunosuke's attack, carapace near its head melted and bubbling. Yet, it still seemed ill-inclined to just lie down.

Katon Mastery
A creature evolved in underground caverns of volcanic ash, Sepa is quite familiar with heat and flame. He has learned to control it expertly, and the fire that he breathes from his maw can be particularly deadly. When he utilizes katon techniques, they not only burn hotter, but spread further. Any katon technique utilized by him can reach 1.5x the range described.

Hard Exoskeleton
As the main guardian of the group, Sepa has a particularly resistant and tough shell. His carapace is strong enough that most traditional blows will glance off him unless they're lucky enough to hit between his plating. In order to pierce his exoskeleton, chakra-enhanced strikes are absolutely required.

Speed Demon
Fast and deadly, Sepa moves like a dancing flame, crawling with an undulating motion that is almost hypnotizing to watch. At his top speed, he is about as fast as a Chuunin taijutsu primary.

DESCRIPTION:
This technique creates a stream of fire that can be manipulated into either rings of fire that run on the ground or a circle of fire flying through the air before striking the target. No matter the shape the jutsu can only follow the target for thirty meters. Once it hits, it leaves the target badly burned.

[Nakajima Ryuunosuke]

I'm gonna watch it burn

The Nakajima smiled as his attacks seemed to injure the creature a great deal, while it was a wild ride atop the creature, Ryuunosuke was surprised when the beast, and his sword seemingly vanished, after he came to the ground, Ryuunosuke deactivated his cremation mode everywhere but his feet, intent on killing the beast. But as it reappeared at the front entrance, the giant bug-thing looked pissed. "Taro, it only reacts to one thing, finish it, I got the coat!" Ryuunosuke yelled at his kin as he activated an intense burst of fire at his feet prior to skating effortlessly across the ice at a surprising speed, even for him. Oh this is so much faster without a snowboard.

While the boy could have easily body-flickered away, there wasn't exactly a clear radius of how far the creature's flames would go. Ryuunosuke was willing to make two risks, trusting Taro to finish off the creature and a chance to badly burn his back trying to move Trenchy. He'd prefer to deal with the creature himself, but, it seemed Taro didn't realize the chance to guard the other teammate as well. He was closer to the beast than Ryuu was, it made sense to let him deal with it, he should know how to use the sword, it was specific to not only him but to a Nakajima, should he need it, the blade was still stuck on the bug. All he knew, he needed to shield the boy before they could make their escape.

Hopefully, he moved quick enough to both grab the boy and get to safety, he could only hope Taro knew what he meant this time.

SPECIAL ABILITIES USED:
Soldier-boy Blue Flame of the Nakajima
As a Nakajima, Ryuunosuke has the honor of learning the clan hijutsu' Haini no Jutsu [Cremation Technique], in doing so, he displayed flames in the color of Blue. Aided by using Katon Jutsus in combat during the use of [Cremation Technique] had his chakra fuse with flames he created. Shifting the aesthetics of red to blue flames for all Nakajima/Katon Jutsus. As a result, he is a Nakajima of the Blue Flame.

Heightened Chakra Reserves
If Ryuunosuke knows one true strategy, it's to completely overwhelm his opponents. Through extensive training with his Nakajima Hijutsu, Ryuunosuke unlocked his true potential in chakra reserves, giving him extra fuel to fan his flames. His chakra reserves relationally doubled, meaning whatever his chakra level is at genin is doubled; heightening his reserves beyond other shinobi of similar skill compared to Ryuunosuke.


Blue Inferno
As a natural occurrence, blue fire is hotter in temperature compared to red and orange flames. Burns for Ryuunosuke up a degree of severity, 2nd-degree burn turn into third degrees, and so on. This temperature shift allows Ryuunosuke to burn open or cauterize wounds to unleash brutal blue infernos.

Atomic Spiral
Chakra is fuel and for Nakajimas, fuel is fire. Tapping into his increased reserves, Ryuunosuke's flames are entirely fed chakra, requiring no oxygen that powers the flames on his body while using the Cremation Technique. Due to utilizing his chakra reserves, the Nakajima's flames intensity boarders unnatural and the substance needed lacks any earthly component besides pure chakra. Because of this, his base cremation ability intensifies his flames to merely appear to go supernova, turning up the heat around him to substantially increase in temperature, melting snow and ice around him in a 10-meter radius (Distance is Set and will not increase with the Intense heat SA). Unlike most fire jutsus, Ryuunosuke's Cremation technique won't go out submerged underwater. Being sustained solely by chakra does allow the flames to exist in little to no oxygen areas, allowing his Cremation body to exist while submerged in water. This level of mastery within a Blue Flame is indicated by a blue-violet gradient hue, overwriting the complete blue aesthetic that a typical Blue Flame has on both clan-specific and universal Katon. Appearing as a spiral of multiple colors, the Nakajima's flames exist on another level, but where he stands on the totem pole is now unknown. Every inch of the users body becomes fire, or if they prefer just one part. The user is able to absorb natural fire, not created with chakra, to heal themselves and restore chakra. The drawbacks to this technique being that it limits the user to using only Katon or non-elemental jutsus. It also makes the user more susceptible to Fuuton jutsu, which feeds the fire and forces the user to burn through their chakra, with powerful Fuuton attacks causing the body to detonate and expel a massive amount of chakra.

This technique can also boost sideways momentum or greatly boost a downward dive bomb. The chakra cost of this technique stacks with the combustion step.

[Imagawa Takumi]

Takumi had been readying himself to exit the cave right up until the massive bug creature disappeared. Fear wasn't part of the Imagawa's vocabulary, but he felt something that was basically fear when the centipede suddenly flickered to the entrance of the cave. Something that large moving that quick was unbelievable. But all their attacks had proved that it could be injured, and if it could be injured it could be killed.

He withdrew one of the fuma shuriken from his back as the creature opened its jaws, pausing for just a moment as he realized the creature was about to blast Taro. He was.. reasonably sure that his teammate would be fine, but he needed to ensure that he took advantage of the creature's distraction. Still hanging from the ceiling of the cave, Takumi put his whole body into throwing his fuma shuriken, aiming squarely for the wound that Ryuunosuke had already inflicted on the beast. He imparted the weapon with some of his chakra before it left his hand, ensuring that if and whenever it hit something, it would hit hard.

The chuunin didn't stick around to see if attack landed, however, immediately forming a handseal to increase his speed once more, diving to stand behind the barrier that the ANBU besides Kabuto had made, making Ryuunosuke's dash towards him a bit redundant.

DESCRIPTION:
This trick is made to fool those who use their weapons to block incoming barrages of shuriken. To do that, chakra is fused into the weapons, before they're thrown. Upon impact with something, the chakra is released, giving a seemingly light weapon a strong punch. Even simple shuriken, used in such a way, leave dents in stone walls, and will knock a weapon out of someone's hand, should they try blocking with it.

By invigorating one's entire body with chakra, a shinobi can seemingly disappear and reappear in another location faster than most people can see. Often times one's movements are disguised with the use of an extra element, be it a smoke bomb, leaves, water, sand, etc. in order to hide the user's trajectory from those with skilled eyes. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, compounding in exertion and difficulty each time. with any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion. The hand seal for this technique must be held until the shinobi reaches their destination, making it impossible to utilize other techniques regardless of any preparation.

[Nakajima Taro]

Taro was fairly situationally aware, both to the acknowledgement of the group leaving as well as the combat with the centipede finishing. He was quite impressed to see the beast so overwhelmingly defeated. It was however a brief surprise as the explanation was right under his nose, as the beast would reappear injured, but otherwise still alive and kicking. At first it'd seem to be blocking their path, but as the chuunin mentally prepared for combat by shifting his direction and pace. Emiri would be rushed out and seemingly ignored entirely by the creature. Instead the monster seemed to have a focus upon him?

Taro didn't have the mind to put one and one together, so instead he'd feel honored. As though he'd been chosen as this monsters rival and he'd be the beasts undoing. It was that in his head or it was that Ryuu actually did such a wallop it was trying to pick a fight with someone weaker. Granted surely his clansmen would be quick to join the fight at such a short range. The fighter enjoyed being the target and despite taking an initial retreat to the giant insects attack, Taro would perform a single hand seal and with a blur disappear just before the attacks could connect with him.

Using shunshin he'd dodge the creatures attack and place himself outside the cave, as to further pull the creature from the environment with a ceiling. At this point though Taro would only have one initiative, as he'd once again cremate his feet to launch himself upward like a rocket. His hands performing a technique to heighten his lift off, as he'd do his best to get as much air as possible. That way he could once again perform his downward kick with as much force possible. He'd aim the kick and in his hopes the finishing blow upon Ryuu's sword still lodged in the creature hopefully the force of his kick driving the blade all the way through the creature like a bullet.

Yikes He Fire! #1
Taro as a member of the Nakajima clan, has been trained in the hijutsu known as cremation. This ability allows him to turn his body either fully or partially into fire and evade blows or propel his own. In the clan a color flame is usually gifted to each member by their cremations color, Taro however is a special case as his initial flame was seen as black. However after his chakra burn was sealed away, he's typically seen with red and orange flames in cremation. It isn't the color given to him exactly though, as it's known this is likely due to the seal. However inherent skills aside, Taro is incredibly skilled in using the cremation technique and utilizes it primarily with his taijutsu.

Swift As Hell #2
Using weighted scrolls to carry a bunch of typically useless equipment, Taro has managed to greatly improve his physical prowess. As one the weights are removed he's able to move much faster than the average shinobi and often uses this advantage to overwhelm those he's lured into a false sense of security. Though a large part of his effective tactic was ruined by showcasing it during the chuunin exams. It still however is a very important trait for a physical fighter to have, as many have resorted to such intense training these days.

Fire Powah; That Packs a Punch! #3
Mastering only one element it's quite common to become increasingly good in that element. Often shinobi boost the size or characteristic of that element, Taro on the other hand had a far more clear focus. He enjoyed fighting close up, so to better imbue his cremation to his form of combat, Taro has improved the force behind all his Nakajima techniques. Allowing him easily twice the packed power in each fire enhanced punch, kick or step.

DESCRIPTION:
Typically when above the target the user will descend down to strike a point. During the descent the user will have or will suddenly turn their foot into fire with a partial cremation. Bursting the fire upwards to either side of the leg the user will speed up this descent, as the air naturally feeds into the flame at the end of the users leg. Converting the heightened flame back into a foot and dispersing the excess energy into downward motion. This hits with stone shattering force and intensely burns the spot it hits. The potential of this technique increases based on the height of the descent though, so where at a stool height drop would be merely a strong kick, a mile high dive-bomb could create quite the crater. Granted the users body could survive the force themselves.

Yuki Hakurei Nakajima Taro Imagawa Takumi Nakajima Ryuunosuke

The coordinated efforts of the three shinobi worked to a clean completion. Takumi sent a large shuriken sailing through the air, embedding it again into the monumental creature's hide. The heavy weight of it was enough to let it sink into the stony carapace, more blood oozing from the centipede's wounds.

At the same time, the two Nakajima were working in concord to do further damage to the monstrous beast. Ryuunosuke instructed his clansman and Taro followed through, using a heavy downward strike on the sword embedded in their enemy's flesh, further cracking its carapace apart. It made a horrible screech that echoed through the walls and made the environment shudder, tremble like its twitching body.

It thrashed, at first trying to follow Taro into the narrow tunnel out the exit. Before it could go further, however, a strange voice interrupted it.

"Brother," called a voice from the icy pit from which the creature had originally emerged. It sounded strange, a voice like a blade and honing stone coming together. "That is enough."

Between the chunks of ice, another centipede emerged. Green and black, much smaller than its companion.

"Warriors. I think you have sufficiently proven yourselves. May we talk?"

[Nakajima Ryuunosuke]

I'm gonna watch it burn

Ryuunosuke recovered from his dashing leap and grinned upon hearing the sounds of weapons hitting the creature and Taro's famed cremation kick striking and the beast hollowing in pain. He turned around to look at the destruction caused and the Nakajima couldn't but smile at the expressive attacks and teamwork they were able to pull off. This creature looked like it was about to go down and quite frankly the Nakajima was relieved. He was tired of fighting non-human opponents and wanted to put this creature down for good.

He started weaving more seals to absolutely finish this, the base of his ribs lighting ablaze as he gathered the strongest Katon chakra available in him, only to stop seal-weaving when a booming voice echoed the chamber. Are you fucking kidding me? Ryuunosuke thought as he simply stood in place as the voice called him to stop. Another centipede thing came up, smaller in size. The Nakajima was certain this one couldn't take a strong hit but as it greeted them. Ryuunosuke put his hands down, ending his cremation flare. I'm sorry, what?

The Chūnin looked in wonder as well as hate. "If you want to talk, may I have my sword back?"

The hiijutsu of the Nakajima clan. This technique allows the user to turn their body into living fire, making them immune to physical attacks. Every inch of the users body becomes fire, or if they prefer just one part. The user is able to absorb natural fire, not created with chakra, to heal themselves and restore chakra. The drawbacks to this technique being that it limits the user to using only Katon or non-elemental jutsus. It also makes the user more susceptible to Fuuton jutsu, which feeds the fire and forces the user to burn through their chakra, with powerful Fuuton attacks causing the body to detonate and expel a massive amount of chakra.

Takumi watched from behind the safety of the barrier as the Nakajima tag teamed the giant creature, hoping that their concerted effort would be enough to finally get them out of this cold cave. For a moment, it seemed as though the two had successfully defeated the damn thing, a massive screech emanating from the creature that forced Takumi to steady his stance. The centipede moving at ridiculous speed had been surprising enough, but the absolute last thing the Imagawa expected was for another creature to come along, only to begin taking a diplomatic approach.

Takumi wasn’t about to start talking to a bug, but he wasn’t above seeing how far words would take them. He cautiously reached and pulled his other fuma shuriken off of his back, keeping it in his hand for now but flicking his wrist to unfold it. Thankfully, the other Nakajima began speaking to the green and black centipede. He requested his sword back which was… a strange thing to ask of someone you just stabbed with it, but Takumi was more than content to let the bigger mouths take the lead while he sized up their situation, wondering if it was possible to get Emiri out without dealing with these oversized arthropods.

[Nakajima Taro]

Taro was possibly mistaken, but confident in his abilities to evade and escape their insect pursuer. He'd however in the success of his moves feel he even may have the upper hand in combat at this point. Talk to me would never appreciate the senseless violence and Taro had more important objectives than his ego presently. That stated he'd be simultaneously halted by the order of the more legible insect.

Reinforcements for the enemy weren't ever a good thing, but this fellow centipede called for them all to talk. They'd apparently proven themselves, but of what the chuunin couldn't guess. He'd similarly assume order and negotiations were best left in the hands of those with rank. To which him, his cousin and Takumi shared a lack of ranking authority. None all that seasoned past advanced genin really, so in true flare to his more childish side. Taro would turn to his teammate, before letting out a boisterous claim.

"HA! Even the giant bugs think you should talk more!" Taro would gesture between his comrade and the insect which had spoken to them. He'd despite joking about still keep his guard up, as he'd assure now both monsters were in his view. He'd not let them get the jump on him, though he'd also not truly trust the ground beneath his feet either.

Nakajima Taro Imagawa Takumi Nakajima Ryuunosuke

Ryuunosuke requested the return of his sword. The green beast seemed to consider that for a moment, her antennae twitching in thoughtfulness. The centipede would scuttle across the cave, ignoring the other shinobi as she approached the other, more massive centipede.

"Come here, Sepa," she instructed.

The massive creature, apparently named Sepa, pried himself from the jaws of the cave exit to return to the other insect's side. She crawled upon his carapace and used her many limbs to extract the sword from Sepa's side. Sepa's jaws fluttered and he made a noise of pain, staring intently at Ryuunosuke with hungry eyes. It seemed like he still wanted a fight, but was restraining himself on his companion's instruction.

With that done, she crawled off Sepa's back and brought the sword, carefully clutched in her mandibles, to Ryuunosuke.

"My name is Jōrō. That is Sepa. You'll have to forgive his behavior. This is our master's tomb. We have been guarding it and his secrets from intruders for decades. Though none had reached so far as to touch that technique scroll and activate that trap before your... ally, I assume?" She asked, staring at Emiri.

"Unlike my brother, I can concede when we are beaten. You seem worthy inheritors of our master's technique."

Katon Mastery
A creature evolved in underground caverns of volcanic ash, Sepa is quite familiar with heat and flame. He has learned to control it expertly, and the fire that he breathes from his maw can be particularly deadly. When he utilizes katon techniques, they not only burn hotter, but spread further. Any katon technique utilized by him can reach 1.5x the range described.

Hard Exoskeleton
As the main guardian of the group, Sepa has a particularly resistant and tough shell. His carapace is strong enough that most traditional blows will glance off him unless they're lucky enough to hit between his plating. In order to pierce his exoskeleton, chakra-enhanced strikes are absolutely required.

Speed Demon
Fast and deadly, Sepa moves like a dancing flame, crawling with an undulating motion that is almost hypnotizing to watch. At his top speed, he is about as fast as a Chuunin taijutsu primary.

I'm gonna watch it burn

Ryuunosuke slowly understood that the beast they were fight was named Sepa after such a fierce fight. As it approached the other insect, the Nakajima could tell the malice between them didn't exactly place them on the best terms, but they still complied with the request. The newer bug introduced the two formally after rearming the Azure-flamed Nakajima. He took the blade before sheathing it on his back. "Yeah, she's a bit more than an ally, more like a master, well... until she got as far as she did." Despite the burning desire to fully kill the bug they were fighting previously, but if Jōrō truly controlled him with just words, there wasn't a need to flash burn the place. "My main question is how do we get her to recover, while I am interested in something so heavily guarded, there must be a reason, a great flaw, in contrast, a great power. Enticing as it may be, my mission was more retrieve my kin. I do not recall reading about a sacred technique but only a unique distortion that has led us to find her."

Ryuunosuke looked at the barrier both Trench-coat and Emiri were in. "If you truly believe we are worthy of such a gift, I'll gladly accept my share but know I am not after what you are guarding, my only concern is Emiri. It was a case of unfortunate circumstance this battle happened." The Nakajima looked at the wounded Sepa then back to Jōrō. "Obviously, Emiri thought differently, and my comrades have their own opinions. However, if you were given directions from your master, it is wrong of me to deny you that chance... Sorry for the wounds, Sepa. Jōrō, I apologize if I am now proving unworthy, alas, you have your directions, and I have mine. Taro! Trench-coat! Do you have anything to speak to Jōrō about?"

The Nakajima wanted to confirm with the group before wrapping it as complete.

Soldier-boy Blue Flame of the Nakajima
As a Nakajima, Ryuunosuke has the honor of learning the clan hijutsu' Haini no Jutsu [Cremation Technique], in doing so, he displayed flames in the color of Blue. Aided by using Katon Jutsus in combat during the use of [Cremation Technique] had his chakra fuse with flames he created. Shifting the aesthetics of red to blue flames for all Nakajima/Katon Jutsus. As a result, he is a Nakajima of the Blue Flame.

Heightened Chakra Reserves
If Ryuunosuke knows one true strategy, it's to completely overwhelm his opponents. Through extensive training with his Nakajima Hijutsu, Ryuunosuke unlocked his true potential in chakra reserves, giving him extra fuel to fan his flames. His chakra reserves relationally doubled, meaning whatever his chakra level is at genin is doubled; heightening his reserves beyond other shinobi of similar skill compared to Ryuunosuke.


Blue Inferno
As a natural occurrence, blue fire is hotter in temperature compared to red and orange flames. Burns for Ryuunosuke up a degree of severity, 2nd-degree burn turn into third degrees, and so on. This temperature shift allows Ryuunosuke to burn open or cauterize wounds to unleash brutal blue infernos.

Atomic Spiral
Chakra is fuel and for Nakajimas, fuel is fire. Tapping into his increased reserves, Ryuunosuke's flames are entirely fed chakra, requiring no oxygen that powers the flames on his body while using the Cremation Technique. As Ryuunosuke conversed with the oversized bugs, Taro couldn't help but make a joke at Takumi's expense. Even in a scenario with stakes as high as this, his comrade seemed to feel the need to call attention to Takumi's tendency to keep his mouth shut.

The Imagawa shot Taro a dirty look, only temporarily as he didn't want to tear his attention away from the events unfolding for more than a second or so. Surprisingly, the centipedes complied with Ryuunosuke's request. The sword was extracted from the other beast's carapace and given back to its rightful owner with a lot more formality than what Takumi expected from gigantic bugs. It seemed that attaining the scroll and getting out had been a test of some sort, and this particular group had proven themselves 'worthy inheritors.' To say that he was suspicious of the whole scenario would be an understatement. Was he to believe that these creatures would just teach them some fancy technique they had been guarding for decades just because they had managed to poke out one of their eyes and stab it in the head as well?

While Takumi had been content to let Ryuunosuke do the talking, his eyes flashed with anger when he was referred to as "Trench-coat." He had tolerated the nickname in the heat of battle, but what sort of person called bugs by their proper names and not his fellow shinobi? He decided not to respond directly to Ryuunosuke and instead turned to his teammate, Taro.

"Do you actually believe this? This.." He gestured towards the pair of centipedes with the fuma shuriken in his hand "... this charade? They're going to just... teach us some technique then let us go?"

Takumi was competitive and prideful, and the thought of doing what Taro told him to was anathema to him, but this wasn't a matter of doing what Taro told him to. This was a matter of solidarity, he wouldn't be so foolish as to continue the fight if the majority wished to accept the centipedes' concession.

Ryuunosuke would be the first to speak and he'd have quite a bit to say to these insects. Taro certainly respected his clan members dedication to the objective at hand, but he couldn't help to feel such concern could of been said in less words. Taro would even pick up on the fact that Takumi would be thrown under the bus again, he'd a slight snicker out of it. However seeing his teammate clearly glare over it, he'd clear up his expression and take on a more blank stare.

The Imagawa would then call upon the Nakajima's better judgement. The situation at hand couldn't be called normal by any stretch of his imagination, but in a world of shinobi this also wasn't the strangest thing either. "Jeez, the duality of man, one either talks too much or one talks too little." Taro would joke, as he'd attempt to think on the statement this could be a charade. He certainly positioned himself to run and absolutely wasn't physically comfortable getting closer to their earlier enemy. However, he'd think about what the bugs had stated, Emiri had grabbed the technique.

That meant the scroll he had was that secret technique. "If everything said is true, then this scroll will reveal their masters jutsu." To which Taro would distances himself from his teammates more. In case the scroll was booby trapped. Opening the scroll rather quickly to see it's contents and hopefully not need to immediately cremate himself. Granted if an explosion happened, it'd be that very move he'd do. A bead of sweat dripping down his forehead, as he'd kept his eyes spread open almost painfully wild.

If it was a scroll on a jutsu, then Taro would sigh in relief and state to Takumi. "It's legit, so we can just leave." He was very certain they'd be able to learn the jutsu without the insects. Granted maybe he should be feeling more compassionate to the summons whose purpose was essentially wiped out by them. Seemed like a pretty massive waste of ones life to guard a single technique.

Nakajima Taro Imagawa Takumi Nakajima Ryuunosuke

Between the parties to the conversation, a mild disagreement arose. Ryuunosuke was more willing to accept the statements of the centipedes as fact while the other two were more hesitant, believing that it could be a course of trickery. The hesitation was not unexpected. The situation had moved from battle to conversation in a very short time and most wise shinobi would have at least a few misgivings about it.

In order to clear any suspicions, Taro decided to look at the scroll to determine the veracity of the claim. The bind that tethered the scroll was undone and he was able to unroll it easily without it activating any kind of ill charm. When he was not assailed by any new technique, Taro was able to read the scroll.

It detailed an interesting technique.

Shikai - As Lifeless As Cold Ashes. A technique wherein chakra is used to mask the heat of a growing flame, disguising its burning until the subject has already caught fire. After everything in its radius has caught alight, it explodes in a potentially devastating burst of flame.

Certain now that the technique was real, Taro decided to inform the group that they should leave.

"You may go if you wish," Jōrō would agree.

"It would be a waste," Sepa would reply, the great beast finally speaking. His voice was perhaps more frightening than his sister's. It sounded like a great many blades running over one another at once, a tone at once sharp and deep enough to make the ice rumble.

Jōrō hesitated, her mandibles twitching in thought.

"That is not the only technique our master preserved," she revealed. "Though the others are buried in other tombs. If our eldest sister finds you agreeable, she may be able to help you uncover yet more."

She skittered across the earth to the great hole in the ground and stared at the shinobi. It seemed like an offer - any who were not interested were free to leave, but any who wished to proceed could come meet more of this centipede tribe.

DESCRIPTION: A technique pioneered by some ancient katon master, buried beneath centuries of ice in the catacombs beneath Yuki no Kuni, and guarded by this fallen soldier's forgotten summons.  Shikai allows users to create a bizarre and alien "cold" fire, utilizing their chakra to mask the heat being put off by the flame even as it burns. The flame is a cold blue, almost ice white, and bursts out from the user in a three meter ring. At first it crawls slowly outwards, catching everything around it alight. It travels for ten seconds and reaches  a maximum of twenty meters, coating everything between its start and end point in its chilled blue flame. At the end of this ten seconds (lasting one rotation after casting in ooc terms), it reaches its termination and everything that has caught on fire explodes in a burst of scorching flames that can give second or third degree burns to anything in contact with it.  The masking effect is what makes this technique truly deadly. Some unsuspecting person's pant leg might catch on fire and they might be totally unaware until the burning has already begun, or they might assume it is a low-rank technique of little concern and react too slowly to the ensuing flame burst. However, the long wind-up time of this technique means that if someone catches on, they can snuff it out before it reaches its culmination. This results in the jutsu failing and the chakra put into it being wasted. Strangely, this flame seems capable of crawling across ice without burning out.

To say he wasn't interested was a lie with his teammates being the reluctant bunch. He analyzed the two centipedes as they made a demonstration. "Emiri risked her life for this, it is right if I take it in her place." The Nakajima stated in contrast to his cousin. "Take Emiri with you, I have some questions." The Nakajima called back, looking at both Sepa and Jōrō, the Nakajima stated, tilting his head. "I care about my kin, but I also wish to surpass her in power, tell me. How am I to prove my worth and attain a favorable aspect for you, Jōrō?" Ryuunosuke nonchalantly asked, intrigue was his intention but he was holding back his lust for power greatly.

"If it is not her destiny, allow it to be mine to learn the secrets. Make it worthwhile to the pain we caused." The adolescent waved to the scroll, "And let this be the first symbol of our new alliance." The Chūnin stated boldly. If apparently, this master is akin to a fire god, supposedly. It is only right the next to be a Nakajima, the strongest of his clan. Me. He had ulterior motives of his own and he was willing to deal with the devil himself if need be to attain such power. Was Ryuunosuke the smartest in terms of general intelligence? Hell no, but what mattered was the wisdom to use it.

The Nakajima walked and crouched near the scroll, giving it a quick read before standing back up. "Will you two agree in aiding me if you see fit?" That was the man's final question as he folded his arms, eyes darting back and forth to the supposed monsters, ignoring the calls of his teammates as he focused on the two creatures.
