Zaizen didn't get much of a response from Sora and she had not managed to grab for Zaizen's hand when he had offered her a hand up before she was clearly needed medical attention, Zaizen watched as Sora struggled to her feet, the stubborn behaviour from her was no surprise to Zaizen. Not that Zaizen would openly admit this to Sora, but he was a little impressed by her determination, even though she had disobeyed his instructions on the approach to the keep, and if she had listened in the first place might not found herself in such a state. Him asking for a chakra pill fell on deaf ears as she spoke briefly after fully rising to her feet at this point before the light in her eyes simply turned to darkness as she passed out, instead of letting her fall onto the ground Zaizen simply moved forward and crouched a little so her upper body fell onto his shoulder. Before deciding to move her he used a free hand to open her shinobi pouch and decided to borrow her chakra pills and take them with him, securing it afterward before lifting Sora onto his shoulders to support her and deciding to carry her, she was likely highly damaged so urgent medical attention had been needed. Zaizen Secured her blade into her scabbard making sure it wouldn't stab him with it before deciding to move with Sora over his shoulder supporting her legs with one of his arms.

Zaizen would then use his sensory skills to feel out for the Jounin team before heading to their location. " I feel the presence of the team this way. As Zaizen would point with his free hand. " Let's head there as quickly as possible.

A Kekkei Genkai that revolves around manipulating one's internal density, this enables him to become nigh indestructible containing enough mass that movement becomes impossible while bending metal easily. It also enables him to phase through matter with ease, possessing an outstanding control over this Kekkei Genkai to the point he can modify one finger to his own body, a part of a sword only. Zaizen is a master of his clans abilities having been using it since he can remember and has full control over it. He has to keep to the time limits which would be nighty seconds before having to wait as long to use his clans abilities once again, though using them once is often more than enough for the Sourei.

[God-Like Chakra Control Prowess]

It's difficult to describe his control over his chakra. It is as if the chakra itself is his very breath. He can manipulate it to such a degree that every technique is perfectly executed with zero wasted chakra yet potent enough that the maximum potential of that technique is always released.

[Prodigious Speed]

Zaizen is quick. His dashing movement mimics shunshin no jutsu, and while utilizing Shunshin no Jutsu, his speed reaches a level rarely seen, due to few being able to see it. It isn't an understatement to say he is one of, if not, the fastest Kirigakure shinobi of his generation. While most focus on training speed & strength to an certain degree, he excelled in training his speed and stamina. Capable of traveling long distances in little time without breaks. This movements translates to his maneuverability as well. The speed at which he punches, kicks, dodges, flips, and dashes are what his entire physical conditioning is about - reaching optimal speed in every aspect of combat. Due to his speed, he was dubbed: [Mist's Bullet].

Both instinctual & conscience reflexes are beyond staggering. It is this coupled with his speed that he's reached his level of command. He reacts to stimuli almost instantaneously, this gives him ample time to give a reply. There isn't much that can dash out of his vision without him knowing, or strike him directly where he can't react. It is due to this and his Kekkei Genkai that his level of evasion is top class.

Steps hold no sound, breath holds no sound, existence can disappear at will. That which makes us shinobi is the fact that a majority of their task takes place in the shadows, and Zaizen has refined and perfected the craft of stealth, lurking within the shadows, hiding one's presence, and covering one's tracks. He can even slow his heartbeat to a near halt, decreasing his body need for oxygen, and hiding his very beat within silence.

As one trained within the shadows, and exemplifying the existence of being one, he is arguably the greatest stealth assassin in his Kirigakure holding the title of ANBU Captain and more. If compared to all in the world, he may just be within the tops. It's even been noted that in a battle of sheer silence, not even the trained Kirigakure can match his lack of presence. This coupled with his physical capabilities is why he's regarded as the [Ghost of the Mist]. He kills at such a speed and moves with no evidence of his existence that one never knows they were killed until he's behind them with a blade in their heart. Even while in actual direct combat, if he's not in view, his presence is impossible to detect via sound no matter how skilled.

The ability to detect/sense other's presence by their chakra. Zaizen is particularly skilled at sensing other individuals, capable of sensing/tracking a chakra signature over five kilometers. He could also discern between various populations, capable of pinpointing their country of origin. It was this very ability that enabled him to know that his son's killer derived from Konohagakure. Zaizens also has the ability to sense passively for a one kilometer range without the need to concentrate a great deal. It can be used to sense if his natural senses were blocked somehow.

He can also sense his immediate surroundings at all times, this in conjunction with his quick reflexes allows him to increase his evasion rate.

The trio would make their exit out of the Keep, safely for the most part, though they still had to exercise some amount of caution as it was obvious that as they made their exits battles were being waged in separate rooms similar to what they had faced. Everyone doing their part, and it definitely shook the Keep no small amount.

They made their way towards the tree line and ducked into the forest and moved deeper - using Zaizen's sensory they would eventually though a bit slowly with Sora being passed out reach the other team that was still awaiting a proper sign to actually move forward with the plan that had been communicated to them from the village via the genin teams.

Upon arrival the two teams would in essence come to a place of combination. Though one team would undoubtedly be a lot more exhausted than the other, and it remained to be seen how the fresher awaiting team would react to this retreating party. For now, at least, the trio was safe from harm and could take a break while the Keep continued to rumble in the background.

Soon, no doubt they would receive a very clear sign that it was their turn.

Ichigoni took the medical kit provided by Asuka with his right arm and began rummaging through it. He didn’t have a lot of experience with using them, but hoped to find some pain relievers. After looking through it and not finding pills, he saw the helpful Kumori looking through as well. One of the things the elder shinobi touched was an instant ice pack.

"Ah, that right there should do it,” he said, taking the pack form Kumori. He took the pack and slipped it beneath his garb and pressed it against his shoulder. There was a soothing relief accompanied by goosebumps as a shiver ran up his spine.

He didn’t see anything that would help with a concussion. His head pounded, and his vision oscillated from normal to a blur. It was nothing he’d complain about, he could still continue the operation. The best thing he could do at that moment is take a few minutes to rest. The Uzumaki would seek medical treatment afterwards.

Perhaps he should have bound his shoulder, but he still needed to use it and would endure through the pain.

Taking deep breaths, he watched Sora going through treatment. His thoughts were mixed. She clearly hadn’t liked his suggestion or that Zaizen had gone with it. He would have gotten over it in discussions if his idea was shot down, but she’d chosen defiance instead. Still, he questioned why they didn’t have a more concrete infiltration plan at the get-go and thought mistakes had been made during the initial planning of the operation. Either way, he didn’t want to see her in this state and hoped that the operation would still be a success.

The world was still as the jounin teams came together and the one medic attempted to help everyone on the team that had advanced earlier. But now, it was their moment to shine, and the sign came clear as day. For the Keep had been shaking with battle, the rumble of stone and cries of pain had been articulated and now all was quiet.

Total silence save for the crickets in the distance, and the mysterious bird that would occasionally croon. The smell of blood and sweat settled with the Keep's silence too, that rusted smell seeming to come to the ground instead of being in the air, like sparks from a flame descending to Earth.

That silence was what would tip the teams off that they could advance forward, that either the lower teams had succeeded in clearing out the enemies below or they had died trying. Further inspection from their vantage point would show that no one was trying to run out of the Keep either, which meant that the enemies were not trying to get out by any means... Which could point towards two options - death or a stealth tactic.

However if the sensors were to check, they would notice that many of the larger chakra signatures from before were gone and now there were instead the familiar chakra signatures from before surrounding a very *large* signature, surrounded by a plentitude of smaller signatures as before, they would be recognized as the ones who had shot a volley of arrows from the rooftop from before.

But now, the shinobi had to move forward their time had finally come.

The jounin team had finally reached the other Jounin team. Zaizan would carefully bring Sora to the medic by carefully getting to his knees and putting her on the ground softly so he didn't bring her harm. After doing so he got back to his feet and moved out of the way so he could give the medical ninja Asuka the time needed to work on Sora, to at least get her stabilized. Zaizen seemed to have wounds on his body from the blood stains on his clothes but that had been from Sora as he had carried her from the keep to the Jounin team to get treatment, the only issues that Zaizen had suffered with had been his eyes caused from the genjutsu in the keep that had worn off by now, the slight ringing in his ears from the air jutsu used which had worn off and his chakra levels which he hoped he would address with the chakra pills he took from Sora pouch when she carried her down.

Zaizen would listen to the experienced Kumori speak to a fellow clan member in Kobashi about a plan they could follow going forward then within moments, Kobashi decided to ask Zaizen about their own experience in the keep, something which had turned Zaizen's head towards the younger Sourei for him to answer. " Well our experience hasn't been the best one you can say that for sure. As you can tell we shouldn't have been in the keep until the agreed point in time and look how things turned out, but that is another subject for another day. As for the keep itself, the room where our fight took place had been limited in space so that is something that you have to watch out for, watch your surroundings. Also other than the normal type of enemy getting in the way I noticed what seemed to be other Hozuki that seemed to come from the ceilings and was able to go into the ground, it might be nothing, but they seemed to be a problem, so it something to keep an eye on going forward. As for the enemy in the room, he gave us some trouble as I said before the space was limited so I ended up having to use barriers a lot to protect us, the enemy's own technique blew him up in the end though. Zaizen had said to Kobashi hoping to paint the picture of the situation for him.

While Zaizen didn't have enhanced hearing or anything like that the scream and noises from above them seemed to have gotten quiet as a familiar present of quietness surrounded the group, but that didn't last long as Zaizen would use his sensory to scan the area, the other large signatures from before had disappeared either dead or fled uncertain to know at this moment. Though above them Zaizen could sense the presence of familiar signatures all over the place, the familar signatures of the Hozuki from before and a very large strong signature, he must be the boss of the group as Zaizen simply gritted his teeth slightly knowing he had to be taken out.

Zaizen would address the whole group in case they could pick up what Zaizen was right now. " Listen up! the enemy chakra signatures on the lower levels of the keep have disappeared meaning they have died or fled, but it appears a lot of forces have gathered on the upper floors of the keep, they seem to be on the defensive, but otherwise stable in movements, which means which could employ a stealth approach. I can sense familiar chakra signatures as well, first is the archers that had shot from the vantage point upon getting to the entrance to the keep, and next is the familiar Hozuki that had been present in our encounter. There is also one very large signature, he must be the one in charge its the largest signature I've sensed so far. We need a plan before going forward and mistakes of charging ahead must not happen this time. Zaizen had spoken to other jounin it was up to them if they wanted to pay attention or not. Asuka was busy with Sora so that was understandable and Sora was well knocked out so had an excuse as well.

Ichigoni hated that there didn’t seem to be a clear chain of command. Although he understood the value of planning as a team, he yearned for the rigid structure of the naval rank. In his mind, planning as a group was strategic, but on the actual battlefield they needed a commander making tactical decisions. Having seen how the committee planning had worked out last time, he opted not to give input. They were all leaders of shinobi, but too many voices would simply bog down their ability to act.

Instead, Ichigoni turned his attention back to Sora. He imagined that they wouldn’t be able to afford to leave shinobi behind to watch over her. There was a sliver of worry in his mind that an enemy fleeing the keep might come across her, and he wouldn’t take the chance of leaving her unguarded.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t spare too much chakra. He had used quite a bit during the fight and had more fights ahead of him. He’d form yet another summoning circle, but this time he’d bring forth Gamatatsu.

"OH Hai everyone!” the toad said with a wave. "Ichigoni, is it finally time for a snack?”

"Hardly. You remember Sora right? Look after her,” he said.

"Oh. Okay. Oh wow, is she okay?” he asked.

"I don’t know. Probably.”

After setting up a guard, Ichigoni began forming another long string of hand seals, setting up yet another future time seal release charged with a water dragon to use in the next battle without the need to mould the signs for it later. It took him noticeably longer than the first time, as each sign he made he could feel a painful grinding in his shoulder.

This allows the user to prepare a specific technique to be activated upon a single hand seal any time into the future, even when they have almost no chakra saved up later on. Once the seal is released, the technique is used immediately afterward and the seal on the forehead vanishes. Only one instance of this seal can be active at a time. One of the most common and beneficial techniques in the known shinobi world. Simply drawing blood and releasing a mass of chakra from one's extended hand is capable of calling an animal or otherwise to one's location. As a Space-Time Ninjutsu, this technique is capable of instantly displacing an intended summon from wherever they may be to the requested location, though there are obstacles that can prevent this. To use this jutsu, one must first make a contract with whatever they are summoning, living creature or not. Both the size and the stamina of what a shinobi calls upon increases the demand of chakra they must spend to perform the jutsu.

With Sora somewhat stabilized and now a toad summoned to keep her company the groups would set out. The primary entry was still open, and with the lower levels cleared out it was obvious that the best way to enter without being hindered was likely through the front door. Of course they could try one of the many windows along the Keep but it was likely a bad idea as that posed the potential for traps or enemies that would jump them. After all, it was unknown if anyone was chakra jamming as well in selective places.

If they did enter through the front door, Daichi would be there to greet them handing them two seals for a handy technique. They could only hope that it would not come in to any use.

Presuming the two teams made their way up, they would be very suddenly stopped along some circular stair rampart. The space was kind of tight but it was actually a young man they all knew.

"Oi vey, there you all are."

It was Kimihiro standing there, and he seemed quite relaxed, of course, it was possible that the two teams would be caught by surprise by the sudden appearance but there was no attack on their persons so they were not in any danger immediately.

Assuming the group arrived at Daichi’s location, Ichigoni would reach a hand forward to accept the tags from his fellow eye-patch enjoyer. The Uzumaki knew of the technique, it was quite advanced, he’d put it to good use if a situation for it arose. Perhaps the younger man would be a suitable candidate to pass down his kinjutsu to.

"Thank you, I will not let it go to waste,” he replied. "If we both survive, let’s meet up to talk shop sometime.”

He formed two trigram blades without seals on them, leaving a tiny hole which he fastened the tags through. Daichi’s tags would be holstered alongside the other jutsu the Uzumaki had prepared at the start of the mission, still waiting for an opportunity to be used.

With that, Ichigoni would follow the lead of Zaizen and the others. Even if they wouldn’t approach Daichi, he was thoroughly on auto-pilot and playing follow the leader.

Meanwhile, Gamatatsu stood in front of the unconscious Sora and stared at her with bug eyes and an awkward smile. Every once and awhile, he’d mistake the movement of her breathing for her coming too and get visibly excited, only to then slink back when he realized he was mistaken.

A toad summon had been summoned by Ichigoni in order to protect Sora as she was going to be left alone going forward, for the most part Zaizen didn't do much of anything he just kept track of the chakra signatures above them on the upper floors of the keep in case there was any further movements until he waited for the others of the Jounin team to make a choice on how to proceed, it wasn't until Zaizen could feel the presence of a chakra signature coming towards them from the spiral staircase, it had been Daichi who had brought something for the team to use going forward, while Zaizen didn't know much about the purpose of the seals, it seemed to fit right into Ichigoni arsenal seeming he knowing its true purpose. After letting Daichi go to safety, Zaizen then picked up on a further chakra signature coming down from the tower, it was familiar in presence with it belonging to a Kirigakure shinobi.

When the man came forth it had been Kimihiro who had likely come along with Daichi, to a sensor like Zaizen he wasn't really shocked as he felt the chakra signature coming, but he didn't spoil it for the others as listed to the young man before Kimihiro offered to lead the way for the team, nothing seemed out of the normal and the chakra signatures above had not moved, so would proceed with the others as required.

Zaizens also has the ability to sense passively for a one kilometer range without the need to concentrate a great deal. It can be used to sense if his natural senses were blocked somehow.

It was Kobashi who had the tickling sensation at the back of his mind that there might be something manipulative and off about the situation. It seemed that even Zaizen had been fooled, perhaps through some kind of manipulation of chakra signature? It was hard to tell, but when the hair was pulled the hair turned to water and the fake Kimihiro let out a shout, which was quickly ended by a very fast draw of the blade coupled with the techniques abilities the now ex-Hozuki and fake-Kimihiro collapsed to the ground dead, but not without some blood splatter in the midst of it all. It would likely spray onto the entire group to some degree since they were in such a small area going up some spiraling staircase made from stone, top to bottom. It was definitely a fairly impressive structure all things considered.

They wandered up until they reached a landing that opened up into one clear corridor in one direction and another in another direction. Sensory here was either defunct and not working or there was no one to sense but Zaizen would definitely feel a strange loss of sight in that regard as if something was clouding his abilities making everything very muddy.

Wandering towards the corridor to the left or right did nothing to alleviate that.

But now the choice would lie with the team, would they stick together and pick a corridor to wander into, or would they split up carefully and tackle both? There was no telling what going inside the corridors meant but it would be *best* to not enter without a clear decision from the team or else risk being in severe danger due to the sheer lack of clarity on the situation.

The two groups would split ways, Zaizen and Ichigoni to the right. Kumori, Kobashi and Asuka to the left. The moment they all stepped into their respective corridors something was triggered and a wall would crash behind them, locking them in like the mechanism from before. But that was not the only thing that was happening, for as they were locked in another mechanism was made clear. Something clicked loudly and without quick reactions and vigilance - it was not as if they could see for the entire place was pitch black - they would find themselves getting impaled by spikes that would come out of the floor in a domino pattern.

Of course there was a way to step around them if one was careful and quick enough to react but most likely everyone was going to get nicked even a little bit from the unexpected trigger that did not seem to come from any chakra at all? Or maybe it was that same fog as before, blocking out chakra structures and sensory completely?

If the two groups managed to get out of the way - whether by running down the hall and up the walls - or by maneuvering around the large spikes towards the beginning of the hallway then they had a new situation at hand... A puzzle of sorts that could at any point trigger more danger.

Perhaps it was someone making them lose patience and energy? Hard to tell.

Ichigoni made his way with Zaizen through the dark room, walking close to the other shinobi in hopes that their sensory abilities would be enough to get them through to the other side of the corridor. He kept quiet, not wanting to draw attention to any would-be assassins lurking in the dark.

As he stumbled forward he heard a loud click, and before he could react he felt his lead leg sink into a pit. He felt the tip of something sharp sting into the meat of his foot. The Uzumaki brought up his hand to his mouth to muffle a pained grunt. He could feel his right boot drip with warm wet ichor.

No longer trusting the room not to have traps further down the line, he drew one of his attraction seal trigram blades and threw it down the hall at one of the walls. His seal imprinted onto the wall, and afterward he engraved another attraction seal on himself and jumped. His body was pulled through the air until he smacked against the wall, at which point he released the seal.

Upon arrival he pressed his hand against the bottom of the boot to feel the hole left by the spike so that he could get a better assessment of his wound.

So it seemed that the Kimihiro was nothing more than a fake looking like another of the Hozuki he had encountered before as it turned to water and died, something about its chakra signature seemed different to Zaizen which made it seem like it was friendly which was strange indeed then as the group moved further along they came across a split corridor that split off in two directions, Zaizen and Ichigoni had decided to go into the right corridor, which at first glance seemed a bit off and screamed to Zaizen it was full of traps, also the corridor was pitch black so as the two of them moved forward into the corridor a trigger seemed to have been set off with a pressure plate they had stood on which first sealed the door behind them tight.

Zaizen had been on caution anyway even before they set foot into the corridor as he had a bad feeling about the corridor, which only added when spikes seemed to start to come from holes in the ground which he noticed along the floor when the door shut from behind him. Zaizen would be ready to move as spikes from in front of him started to come from the holes in the ground, he would have to carefully navigate through this death trap using his reflexes and speed, while Zaizen was a tall man he was also quite a skinny muscular man so should have no issues maneuvering between the spaces in the spikes as they didn't cover all the ground and each one had gaps between them. Ichigoni had already cleared the spikes using his own unique method, so Zaizen used him as a guide where he would need to reach while carefully moving in and out of the spikes until safety was reached at least for now as the rest of the corridors seemed to be unknown at the current time. " We can't rely on my sensory going forward as something is blocking it in this area." He quickly made it known to Ichigoni.

[Mitsudo Soujū]

A Kekkei Genkai that revolves around manipulating one's internal density, this enables him to become nigh indestructible containing enough mass that movement becomes impossible while bending metal easily. It also enables him to phase through matter with ease, possessing an outstanding control over this Kekkei Genkai to the point he can modify one finger to his own body, a part of a sword only. Zaizen is a master of his clans abilities having been using it since he can remember and has full control over it. He has to keep to the time limits which would be nighty seconds before having to wait as long to use his clans abilities once again, though using them once is often more than enough for the Sourei.

[God-Like Chakra Control Prowess]

It's difficult to describe his control over his chakra. It is as if the chakra itself is his very breath. He can manipulate it to such a degree that every technique is perfectly executed with zero wasted chakra yet potent enough that the maximum potential of that technique is always released.

[Prodigious Speed]

Zaizen is quick. His dashing movement mimics shunshin no jutsu, and while utilizing Shunshin no Jutsu, his speed reaches a level rarely seen, due to few being able to see it. It isn't an understatement to say he is one of, if not, the fastest Kirigakure shinobi of his generation. While most focus on training speed & strength to an certain degree, he excelled in training his speed and stamina. Capable of traveling long distances in little time without breaks. This movements translates to his maneuverability as well. The speed at which he punches, kicks, dodges, flips, and dashes are what his entire physical conditioning is about - reaching optimal speed in every aspect of combat. Due to his speed, he was dubbed: [Mist's Bullet].

Both instinctual & conscience reflexes are beyond staggering. It is this coupled with his speed that he's reached his level of command. He reacts to stimuli almost instantaneously, this gives him ample time to give a reply. There isn't much that can dash out of his vision without him knowing, or strike him directly where he can't react. It is due to this and his Kekkei Genkai that his level of evasion is top class.

[Silent Killing Mastery]

Steps hold no sound, breath holds no sound, existence can disappear at will. That which makes us shinobi is the fact that a majority of their task takes place in the shadows, and Zaizen has refined and perfected the craft of stealth, lurking within the shadows, hiding one's presence, and covering one's tracks. He can even slow his heartbeat to a near halt, decreasing his body need for oxygen, and hiding his very beat within silence.

As one trained within the shadows, and exemplifying the existence of being one, he is arguably the greatest stealth assassin in his Kirigakure holding the title of ANBU Captain and more. If compared to all in the world, he may just be within the tops. It's even been noted that in a battle of sheer silence, not even the trained Kirigakure can match his lack of presence. This coupled with his physical capabilities is why he's regarded as the [Ghost of the Mist]. He kills at such a speed and moves with no evidence of his existence that one never knows they were killed until he's behind them with a blade in their heart. Ichigoni felt the pain of a sharp spike - at least he knew that he wasn't in a genjutsu now - before acting quickly to attach himself to a wall so that he could inspect what was going on.

Zaizen was swift and managed to get out of the way, and as he moved forward surprisingly the spikes would descend back into the ground with a snap, leaving the ground as it was. Now they were in darkness, but something about this room or rather corridor gave the impression that it was not just *a* room. It was a miniature trap that utilized more miniature traps to try and kill those that were inside. But that also meant there had to be a fail safe, in case an ally accidentally walked into this scenario. The question was, figuring out the puzzle enough to actually open what was on the other side. They were definitely locked it hard though with the air being quite stagnant and unmoving, and no light from the outside.

If Ichigoni was paying attention he might notice there was something near his hands as he was inspecting his foot, some kind of fabric? It was hard to tell, but he could inspect it - or not.

His foot hurt, but it wasn’t anything that the Uzumaki couldn’t soldier through. His overall speed might be compromised, but he relied more on jumping than running in the first place. The Uzumaki shrugged it off and put his foot down to inspect the fabric that caught his curiosity.

With silence broken, Ichigoini turned to Zaizen. "My eyes are starting to adjust to the dark, but I may need some light if you have the means.”

The only light he had in his own arsenal was the technique he used in the previous battle, which was a brief flash. It wouldn’t be helpful for him to examine the cloth. As a precaution, Ichigoni took the sealing tag provided by Daichi and placed it on the cloth to suppress any chakra that might be within it: he was weary it could be another trap. After all, he used his own headband as a medium for fuinjutsu.

Afterwards, Ichigoni would start to size up the fabric. He’d try to get a feel for the size, check for any symbols engraved on it, and even what sort of material it was made of. Beyond that he’d try to tell if it was being pinned to anything. He’d be careful not to put a lot of pressure on his pat down, in fear that he might spring some hidden mechanism behind it if he wasn’t careful.

If Zaizen could make a light for him, his inspection would be all the easier, although he'd understand if the senior jounin didn't want to risk drawing attention.

This prevents the user from releasing or even molding their chakra, removing their power of jutsu.
