Zaizen had moved around and in and out of the spiked floor being careful to avoid the spikes and sustaining damage to his body, but because of his vast reflexes the man managed to avoid taking any damage and had made it to where Ichigoni had reached the wall close to him, Zaizen was careful with his movements as he heard the spikes behind him deactivate, his movements were very little as he didn't want to trigger another trap not while Ichigoni seemed to be inspecting something he had found close to his own location. Ichigoni had asked Zaizen for a source of light while the man didn't know Katon-style jutsu they were on the large scale and couldn't risk using such jutsu in their close quarters doing so could kill them both or set off further traps for them to deal with. That was the last thing that Zaizen wanted to cause to happen.

" I do know katon style jutsu but nothing on the low scale to create a fire we are just gonna have to make do with what we have. its not ideal, but can't risk blowing both of us up or setting off another trap in this corridor." Zaizen had said before a thought had come to the man. " My chakra sensory is blocked which means there is either something doing it or someone has the ability to block it out, which suggests to me we might have an enemy trying to stalk us or trying to have fun with us with these traps." Zaizen had spoken speaking his mind clearly mostly guessing for the most part, but there could be some truth to his words the two of them had to wait and see hoping the material provided some clue. By this point, Zaizen eyes was beginning to adjust to the darkness.

A Kekkei Genkai that revolves around manipulating one's internal density, this enables him to become nigh indestructible containing enough mass that movement becomes impossible while bending metal easily. It also enables him to phase through matter with ease, possessing an outstanding control over this Kekkei Genkai to the point he can modify one finger to his own body, a part of a sword only. Zaizen is a master of his clans abilities having been using it since he can remember and has full control over it. He has to keep to the time limits which would be nighty seconds before having to wait as long to use his clans abilities once again, though using them once is often more than enough for the Sourei.

It's difficult to describe his control over his chakra. It is as if the chakra itself is his very breath. He can manipulate it to such a degree that every technique is perfectly executed with zero wasted chakra yet potent enough that the maximum potential of that technique is always released.

Zaizen is quick. His dashing movement mimics shunshin no jutsu, and while utilizing Shunshin no Jutsu, his speed reaches a level rarely seen, due to few being able to see it. It isn't an understatement to say he is one of, if not, the fastest Kirigakure shinobi of his generation. While most focus on training speed & strength to an certain degree, he excelled in training his speed and stamina. Capable of traveling long distances in little time without breaks. This movements translates to his maneuverability as well. Steps hold no sound, breath holds no sound, existence can disappear at will. That which makes us shinobi is the fact that a majority of their task takes place in the shadows, and Zaizen has refined and perfected the craft of stealth, lurking within the shadows, hiding one's presence, and covering one's tracks. He can even slow his heartbeat to a near halt, decreasing his body need for oxygen, and hiding his very beat within silence.

As one trained within the shadows, and exemplifying the existence of being one, he is arguably the greatest stealth assassin in his Kirigakure holding the title of ANBU Captain and more. If compared to all in the world, he may just be within the tops. It's even been noted that in a battle of sheer silence, not even the trained Kirigakure can match his lack of presence. This coupled with his physical capabilities is why he's regarded as the [Ghost of the Mist]. He kills at such a speed and moves with no evidence of his existence that one never knows they were killed until he's behind them with a blade in their heart. Even while in actual direct combat, if he's not in view, his presence is impossible to detect via sound no matter how skilled.

The ability to detect/sense other's presence by their chakra. Zaizen is particularly skilled at sensing other individuals, capable of sensing/tracking a chakra signature over five kilometers. He could also discern between various populations, capable of pinpointing their country of origin. It was this very ability that enabled him to know that his son's killer derived from Konohagakure. Zaizens also has the ability to sense passively for a one kilometer range without the need to concentrate a great deal. It can be used to sense if his natural senses were blocked somehow.

He can also sense his immediate surroundings at all times, this in conjunction with his quick reflexes allows him to increase his evasion rate.

As Ichigoni felt along the fabric, he would be able to tell that it was a sort of tapestry, it was made of a thick fabric definitely and while it was hard to discern any patterns along it, Ichigoni would be able to see that there were some color differences even in this pitch darkness, mostly this was due to his eyes adjusting to the lack of light. Without a source of light however, they would have to simply stand there and continue trying to figure out what to do with the fabric... It might have been hiding something in truth, and if Ichigoni did feel beyond it or just over it well -

It wasn't giving away any clues, there was an abnormality somewhere along the wall behind the fabric, it was if one felt it carefully, like a brick that was sticking out and any kind of prodding of it would yield something peculiar - it was not stable - it could be potentially removed, or pushed back inside. Though it definitely felt more like a button.

Whether that was true or not remained to be seen, but they did not have a lot to go on so perhaps it was worth a try?

Uzumaki Ichigoni, the son of the late Uzumaki Tadamatsu and Kaigen Daisa of the western fleet, could feel a tactile sensation that felt like a button after he carefully searched the wall behind the fabric. Bricks were rough and rigid, with brittle little bumps that felt coarse to the touch. Yet somehow, he felt like if he were to press upon this particular brick that it would give way like a button.

"Zaizen. Behind this fabric here, there is a loose brick in the wall. It feels like a button, but it is also a brick. I believe what I am feeling is a false brick that is designed to be a button,” he said in a very quiet voice. His voice was so quiet that only someone standing right next to him, like Sourei Zaizen, the Third Seat of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, could hear.

He paused for a moment. Ichigoni had to consider that this could be another trap, but the brick button had been hidden. Wouldn’t they have left it out in the open if it was intended to be a trick? Or was that what they wanted them to think? Or did they know the Ichigoni would think they might have thought to hide a trap as a trick? It was a difficult call.

"Zaizen, this could be a trap. But it could also not be a trap,” he explained, still as quiet as a mouse. "I am going to push the brick in unless you say not to. Be prepared for anything.”

Forming a sealing stake in his hand, Ichigoni backed up a few feet and looked to Zaizen. Unless the swordsman told him not to, he’d push the buttony brick in with the stake.

Zaizen waited to see if Ichigoni could feel anything with the fabric in his hands Zaizen didn't say anything for the moment as he allowed Ichigoni to try and figure something out even in the darkness of the corridor they found themselves in. Ichigoni had even started to carefully examine the wall in the vicinity where he had found the fabric. Ichigoni seemed to have found some sort of button but seemed like a brick of sorts sticking oddly out of the wall. Zaizen tried to look with his own eyes even in the ajusted darkness things were hard to make out and Ichigoni was closer, plus moving around too much could cause another pressure plate to trigger, which is the last problem they wanted. Ichigoni would address Zaizen declaring what he had found, explaining also further it could also trigger a trap or not and left the choice up to Zaizen, for the most part, the two of them didn't have much of a choice in the matter and proceeding further down the corridor seemed unwise.

" Just push the brick Ichigoni I don't think we have much choice. Zaizen had said to Ichigoni in that moment before the man would have a chance to push the button Zaizen made sure to take a deep breathe before activating his clan abilities to make himself incorporeal, the man could sustain the form for ninety seconds so could go back the way they came and simply avoid the trap and pass through the locked door they came from if it came down to it. Zaizen tried to be a team player but end of the day he was a shinobi and his survival was paramount. Obviously, Ichigoni could not read his mind, but Zaizen was prepared for what was about to happen as he was ready to move on a movement notice.

By weakening these bonds the Sourei clan member's body or whatever object they are focusing this chakra into becomes incorporeal, gaining the unique ability to freely pass through any matter.

The moment that the brick was pushed in something shifted in the mechanisms and it might have been a good idea for the two of them to step back, well, if they were cautious. If not, then perhaps they would continue to stand there near the tapestry like fabric.

There was a woosh and a whirl and suddenly four wall mounted torches were lit up all at once - this might hurt the eyes a little from the pitch darkness to the light, and might cause them to squint from the natural abundance that suddenly came. The torches revealed four tapestries immediately.

Ichigoni was holding onto a brown colored one with a small embroidery on it about a foot wide that spoke of Earth. To their left, where they had come from there was a yellow tapestry with quite a large sign for Lightning.

Opposing the yellow, there was a tapestry of green that had the word for Wind written on it. Opposing the Earth sign they were holding, there was a Fire sign right across the way.

But something was missing in this corridor of tapestry colors. They had to figure out what was missing and why, and how to get out.

Zaizen could hear the mechanisms in the wall moving after Ichigoni had pressed the button like brick, doing so Zaizen's natural motion would be to move back one or two steps so that whatever would happen he was ready for, even though he had used his clan abilities to protect himself. Suddenly the room-like corridor would be lit with light as four torches came to life. While the sudden brightness of the room might affect Ichigoni, Zaizen would have been fine for now as he was still in his clan abilities but once he deactivated them he would feel it a little but not as much as Ichigoni would as he was prepared for the brightness in a way. So deactivating his clan abilities he would allow them to recharge as he became normal once more and allowed Zaizen to breathe.

Zaizen could feel the bright light a little now he had become normal but quickly adjusted as he looked at the tapestries that appeared around the room and the closest one to them revealing 'earth' on it, then looking behind him to see the 'fire' sign upon it. Zaizen saw a familiar theme happening with each one, to him they seemed to represent the elements, with 'water' seeming to be missing. Before that Zaizen would move over to the fire tapestry as that was closest to him to feel around on the wall lightly to see if there were any more mechanisms like the 'earth' tapestry had. Ichigoni to me what is missing is the sign for water that was my first thought, I'm just checking for buttons like your sign had. Maybe we could check the other signs as well." Zaizen had said to Ichigoni that it might be best to check the other signs while Zaizen searched the 'fire' sign.

"Yea, I’ll check them. One moment,” the Uzumaki said as he collected Diachi’s unused sealing tag. "Just going to check this wall here first.”

Seeing the patterns around him, Ichigoni’s eyes slid towards the western wall. If the elements were lined up in order to the way they worked with one another, then water would belong on that western wall. It was worth a quick inspection, at least.

Not wanting to waste a water dragon jutsu and having enough fundamental suiton jutsu, he instead turned to mundane means for a water source, reaching towards his bloody foot and pressing against it to disrupt the platelets so that more would flow. He got enough to stain his hand and walked up to the western wall.

If he could find no obvious receptacle he’d simply smear his blood on the wall, blood contained a good amount of water, so he hoped it might trigger any hidden seal that might be awaiting water. Ichigoni was unsure if he’d get anywhere with this, but in his mind it sort of made sense.

If there was no reaction, he’d step back and head towards the lightning tapestry to inspect it, using light and cautious fingers to search behind it without pressing anything by mistake.

The duo had the right of it, it seemed, with Ichigoni taking some of his blood and smearing it along the wall where a tapestry was missing - opposite of where they had come in - as he smeared, a symbol for Mizu appeared with no tapestry. Something in the wall clicked and it would lower with a rumble, revealing to them another corridor, except this one clearly had windows and winding upwards again as before.

They were out of the puzzle room, but it seemed that their compatriots had not yet made it out. They had two choices now, to wait or to continue up by themselves and hope that soon the trio would join up with them, to face off with the beacon of chakra towards the top of the entire Keep.

Zaizen also had something worth noting, the moment he stepped out of the puzzle room, it seemed that his senses would return, no longer being jammed up it seemed.

Whether they chose to continue or not, at least they could breathe fresh air finally as the air in the room they were just in had been quite stifling especially with the fires that had lit up taking up more and more oxygen by the minute.

Zaizen had still been looking for the switch on the fire tapestry still but had no luck so far, Ichigoni, on the other hand, had used Zaizen's advice about water appearing to be missing by using his own blood from his injured foot to smear on the earth tapestry as blood contained traces of water so should work in theory, smearing it along the wall where a tapestry was missing that was when Zaizen could hear the sound of mechanical parts moving in the wall again before a doorway had been revealed to Zaizen and Ichigoni as Zaizen left the fire tapestry alone as it was no longer needed and headed out into the revealed door way, windows were present in this newly revealed path and a way to climb higher above them. Zazien could feel his chakra sensory abilities returning to him now as he could feel the chakra signatures above them once more. The other group must have still been in the room like they had gone through as Zaizen couldn't sense them above or anywhere else so only made sense for them to be.

" I guess we should wait for the other group of Jounin to finish and we can move forward as a group, my chakra sensory has also returned and the chakra signatures are still active above us. We are getting close now." Zaizen said knowing that the Jounin was getting closer to the top of the keep where the many chakra signatures awaited them. It was good to get some fresh air as well considering the corridor from before seemed to lack much oxygen. Zaizen reached for his pouch and consumed one of the chakra pills he had 'borrowed' from Sora when he carried her to the Jounin team, it would give him a nice boost in chakra from what he had used up to this point knowing the battle that was ahead of them, it was a good time to prepare anything while they could do so.

He can even slow his heartbeat to a near halt, decreasing his body need for oxygen, and hiding his very beat within silence.

As one trained within the shadows, and exemplifying the existence of being one, he is arguably the greatest stealth assassin in his Kirigakure holding the title of ANBU Captain and more. If compared to all in the world, he may just be within the tops. It's even been noted that in a battle of sheer silence, not even the trained Kirigakure can match his lack of presence. This coupled with his physical capabilities is why he's regarded as the [Ghost of the Mist]. He kills at such a speed and moves with no evidence of his existence that one never knows they were killed until he's behind them with a blade in their heart. Even while in actual direct combat, if he's not in view, his presence is impossible to detect via sound no matter how skilled.

The ability to detect/sense other's presence by their chakra. Zaizen is particularly skilled at sensing other individuals, capable of sensing/tracking a chakra signature over five kilometers. He could also discern between various populations, capable of pinpointing their country of origin. It was this very ability that enabled him to know that his son's killer derived from Konohagakure. Zaizens also has the ability to sense passively for a one kilometer range without the need to concentrate a great deal. It can be used to sense if his natural senses were blocked somehow.

He can also sense his immediate surroundings at all times, this in conjunction with his quick reflexes allows him to increase his evasion rate.

Ichigoni listened to Zaizen’s suggestion that they wait for the other team to arrive. He thought that seemed sensible, as rushing ahead had already cost them dearly before. "Alright, let’s take a breather then.”

The Uzumaki decided that he would use his time doctoring his foot wound. First he’d use one of his clawed gloves to shred off a large piece of fabric from the earth tapestry. Then, he slipped off his umber leather boot. Next Ichigoni wrapped his foot in three layers tightly around the wound to apply pressure and prevent further bleeding. Afterwards, he tried to slip his foot back into the boot, but it was a little too big because of the makeshift bandage.

Ichigoni frowned. He really liked this pair of boots, but he had to do what he had to do. The Uzumaki took a claw to the seam of the boot on the left side and split it open enough to make its tongue expand upwards slightly. After the boot lost some of its shape, he was able to manage to wiggle his foot into it, bandage and all.

He tested his footing. It still felt tender when he placed his foot on the ground, but the pressure seemed to help mute some of the pain and kept more blood from pouring out.

The two jounin decided to take a brief breather since they had managed to get out of the room first it seemed. Zaizen took a chakra pill which would allow him to regain some of the chakra and energy he had lost. Though it would certainly not account for any physical exhaustion he was feeling after so many literal hours at this junction of being awake and also battle. But preparing in some ways was better than to simply do nothing.

In the meantime, next to Zaizen, Ichigoni was giving himself some quick foot work. It would not be perfect, of course, but at this point it would be good just to have a general amount of mobility. They would likely need to come up with a solid plan of attack before all five wandered up towards the final. For now though, these two were getting a very well needed moment of reprieve as they had not yet gotten it in reality between battling, dragging Sora down, and going right back up after the battles on the lower levels had ended.

The air here smelled old, of iron and moss like the stone would needed to be cleaned up later, but it was definitely not going to be the duty of some jounin.

Soon though they would hear mechanisms clicking into place nearby and a wall rumbling as it lowered.

For the remainder of the rest Ichigoni let himself breath. Although he also had consumed a great deal of charka, he still had many trigram blade seals that he had prepared before the start of the mission. He also still had a water dragon sealed within his forehead for a surprise attack later. .

"Looks like we have company,” Ichigoni said after he heard the churning of gears and the movement of one of the walls. As the wall moved, he saw the other jounin team again. He stood up straight and slid an eye to Zaizen. There was always a chance that this could be a trick played by their enemies, so he would rely on the sensor to confirm their signatures seemed to match.

That didn’t mean he didn’t do his part, however, he scanned the shinobi and looked over their belongings. He looked for anything out of place, but admittedly, he didn’t know any of them very well beyond reputation alone. Even Asuka, whom he shared an Ama heritage with, hadn’t been someone he’d ever gotten to know.

"It seems we are all here,” Ichigoni said, although he wouldn’t blink from watching them carefully until the mist swordsman confirmed their identities were true.

As Zaizen waited for the other team to emerge from there own corridor it seemed, Zaizen observed Ichigoni giving some first aid to himself in order to stop the bleeding of his foot, which might help him down the line with some mobility as the hardest battle is yet to come and Zaizen would certainly be feeling the pace a little though with a man of his experience it was something he had been used to in his life. Finally the sound of gears moving in the walls and the other Jounin team emerged. After they had emerged Zaizen made sure to check there chakra signatures with his sensory abilities just to confirm they were indeed from Kirigakure, he seemed pretty sure, while he didn't say anything to confirm this he nodded his head towards Ichigoni as a confirmation of them passing his scan with his sensory. Now the teams joined together again the only place could go now was up. Kumori moved ahead of the group and planted some traps on the stairs would might come in handy later, Zaizen made sure to observe the locations of the traps so he didn't hurt himself later on. So pushing forward up the stairs Zaizen made his own way up.

He stayed with the group and would either head up with them to the roof or wait for first aid to be done. Zaizen could sense the vast enemies on the roof with his sensory, but something seemed to be off. He decided he would warn the group. "I sense the enemies on the roof, though something seems to be off we better be on guard moving forward."

[Mitsudo Soujū]

A Kekkei Genkai that revolves around manipulating one's internal density, this enables him to become nigh indestructible containing enough mass that movement becomes impossible while bending metal easily. It also enables him to phase through matter with ease, possessing an outstanding control over this Kekkei Genkai to the point he can modify one finger to his own body, a part of a sword only. Zaizen is a master of his clans abilities having been using it since he can remember and has full control over it. He has to keep to the time limits which would be nighty seconds before having to wait as long to use his clans abilities once again, though using them once is often more than enough for the Sourei.

[God-Like Chakra Control Prowess]

It's difficult to describe his control over his chakra. It is as if the chakra itself is his very breath. He can manipulate it to such a degree that every technique is perfectly executed with zero wasted chakra yet potent enough that the maximum potential of that technique is always released.

Zaizen is quick. His dashing movement mimics shunshin no jutsu, and while utilizing Shunshin no Jutsu, his speed reaches a level rarely seen, due to few being able to see it. While most focus on training speed & strength to an certain degree, he excelled in training his speed and stamina. Capable of traveling long distances in little time without breaks. Kumori wandered up the stairs ahead of the team and planted some shuriken to try potential assailants, but none came. Kobashi stood near the bottom of the stairs as a guard, letting some first aid to occur. There was nothing but silence that stretched on and on, in a total disorienting manner. It was as if the place had shut down, in comparison to earlier when it was shaking and rumbling with combat. It was as if they were or had fallen into a trap, but there was no indication of such... And there was no way to go but up it seemed at the moment.

Which was, technically speaking, good for the team since they needed to get up to the top to complete the mission properly...

Once the first aid was given - whether by their own hands or the hand of Asuka, though Asuka appeared to be primarily dawdling along with the rest of the group - they could proceed up the winding stairs. There was no indication of enemies here either, and the only way they could tell anything was the occasional window that dotted the stairs that showed how high they had climbed.

If they did not stop or do anything strange, they might end up at the very top of the stairs where a burst of fresh sea air would hit their faces...

They were now on the roof and further inspection would yield what *appeared* to be a very empty rooftop, but for those with keen senses and sensory they might be able to notice something was off.

For Zaizen particularly, there was a strange gleam of signatures but they were strange, as if smeared across the ground instead of standing like human beings.
