It has been some time since his journey to Shizuoka with Ouritsu and Midori. Into the pits, they went and fought fairly strong and fast civilians. Horonigai was surprised at how powerful they were, to even draw his anger out. Well, it was the arena mainly, however, the Kyōbō had to restrain himself so much to the point where it hurt his pride to keep from pounding the old man. Both Midori and Ouritsu displayed a stoic demeanor. They kept a level head and completed their battles without much injuries to either party. Yet, the Kyōbō broke the man's hip... or spine, it happened so fast.

Traveling a good distance northeast, into the mountains between Kuwana and Iwagakure, Horonigai stood, stared at the terrain. Learning it, memorizing it. The Kyōbō wanted to control his anger, at least weaponized it if he can't, and the ideal teacher seemed to be the sage. The Chūnin raised the handseals needed, "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu [Shadow Clone Technique]!" A clone appeared in front of the boy as his yell concluded. In his native tongue, the adolescent spoke to his clone.

"Find Midori, the Iwa Sage. She should be back at her home in Iwagakure. Ask for her assistance, then bring her here, I'll explain the rest." Horonigai stated as he patted the clone to race back to Iwa and carry out his orders. Please Midori-san, help me.

Horonigai's clan, Kyōbō, grants all members a unique ability with chakra. It not only gives the aesthetic of violet chakra but said chakra can be weaponized. While Horonigai is quite capable of having good control, he is in no way refined, having slight leakage after casting jutsu, like not turning a faucet completely off, drops of water leaking. This is what happens with his chakra. In no way is it as large as a jinchuuriki, the pool is significantly larger than shinobi at his current skill level.

Pain Tolerance

Being fueled by anger is one thing, an increased tolerance that heightens with emotion is just terrible. While 'efficient' in combat to not feel certain levels of pain. When enrage by his Kyōbō bloodline emotions, Horonigai fights not as much shrugging pain off but choosing to ignore it. This means certain levels of pain can get through depending on his. When fully enraged, Horonigai can tolerate moderate to severe pain. In mild to moderate anger, the Kyobo can tolerate slight to moderate pain. When Horonigai is docile or only slightly anger, he can only tolerate slight pain without issue.

Things were mostly quiet now that Konsho had grown used to living in his own apartment, not as if the boy was loud or anything, it was actually quite the opposite. The quietness that Midori felt now was more akin to emptiness than anything else. And while she was normally drowning in paperwork and what not, she always enjoyed the extra responsibility of having to take care of the boy. But since he was out doing his own thing, she never really got the chance to do that as much. So here she was, sitting in her home with nothing to do and no one to talk to, which honestly wasn’t such a bad thing. Her time was being used to read, nothing but reading and perhaps eating a few snacks here and there.

With a book in one hand, and a pastry from Suikazura’s family bakery in the other, the lady would try her best to enjoy her day off. Taking a bite from the warm bread, Midori would take a second to look at the quality of the food she was eating.

"I have to give it to you Suikazura, your family makes the best.”

The sage would say to herself before hearing a loud knock at the door. The knocks grabbed her attention, mostly because she thought it was Konsho coming back to let her know if he needed anything or not, or if he was doing alright on his own. However she more or less expected it to be the opposite, but when she opened the door the person she saw standing there was a surprise all together.

"Oi, Horonigai. What brings you here?”

The woman would ask as she poked her head out behind the door before opening it completely. More or less used to people coming up to her home to ask for something, the sage wouldn’t have a problem with it. That’s why she had a home in the village, if people needed anything from her they wouldn’t have to go wandering the entire country just to find her.

It was no problem for the clone to race back to Iwagakure, the natural terrain of Tsuchi no Kuni was pretty easy to traverse, especially for a well-versed Iwagakure shinobi. Even more so that the Kyōbō was for a time, the clan traveler. Distance was no problem, the terrain was no problem, it was asking for help. Horonigai was still fearful when it came to such a task, he didn't know if the action would benefit or harm. He saw it as a sign of weakness but that could be a genetic disposition of him, hence why it took so long to even consider it, and why he chose to be away from watching eyes. Why he sent a clone to ask.

Upon arrival in Iwagakure, the Kyōbō clone walked the rest of the way, he was in a hurry but he didn't want to rush, create unnecessary attention. It wasn't that hard to find her home, the location was well known but the Kyōbō stood in front of the door, trying to find the words. Swiftly he knocked on the door and took a step back. Waiting, silence was broken when the door opened and Midori was there to answer; she did ask why he was there and the boy gave a bow.

"Oi, Horonigai. What brings you here?”

"Midori-sama, I come to ask if you can help teach me." The clone rose to continue. "Horonigai sent me here to ask if you may helphim with training. He remembers your skills in Shizuoka hence why he believes you can help him. He wishes to explain more once I bring you to him, but I can say it would be similar to combat training. If you agree to help us, I'll be happy to bring you to him. Thank you for understanding."

‘Hmm.’ The lady would hum to herself as she watched the boy raise to his height. From the way he spoke, she could tell that he was a very formal and respectful shinobi, it was kind of a shock to see such a demeanor after watching him beat up an old man. The anger he presented back then replayed in the woman’s thoughts every now and again, although she could say he at least tried to help him afterwards. If you call slamming him into the dirt "helping.” She couldn’t judge him completely on that matter however, he was given a mission objective and he fulfilled it.

‘A shadow clone, huh?’ She would think to herself as the boy continued to speak, noting his request. He wanted her to help him with some training, which she was more or less used to by now. The lady was hesitant, this was one of her only days off for quite some time. She wanted to enjoy the rest of it reading and doing whatever the hell caught her attention. But she understood the significance of Horonigai coming to her out of every other shinobi in Iwa. He trusted her to an extent, so she couldn’t exactly tell him no and slam the door in his face just for her to go back to sitting on her ass doing nothing. She thought about it for a few more seconds, her gaze averting up towards the clouds as she gently placed a hand beneath her chin and leaned against the threshold.

"Sure, but I have a favor to ask you as well. Give me a moment and I’ll be right out.”

Her tone was genuine and her smile was too before she closed the door and put on clothes that were more suitable for training. Once she returned to the front, Horonigai would notice her outfit changed and she looked more presentable than before. From there she would follow the clone to wherever he led her, without really speaking about the favor she wanted of him.

She focused with intent on the clone and listened deeply to its words. Probably wondering why all the extra steps, if she didn't know how he doesn't like asking for help of any kind. It wasn't pride but fear. Still, the clone accomplished said task with relative ease, and Midori agreed with a personal condition, a favor to ask. The clone gave a surprised look before she announced she'll be right back. Closing the door as she got ready, when she came out, it was an entire outfit change. Did he catch her at a bad time? No, Midori quickly came out with absolutely no hesitation. The clone waited a few seconds for the women to ask her question but when nothing came, the Kyōbō bowed with a brisk statement of two words, "Follow me."

The clone rushed Midori out of Iwagakure towards Shizouka through the mountainous region. Stone after stone as far as the eye could see, navigating through the pillars of stone was also no cakewalk, really, the Kyōbō couldn't have chosen a more difficult area to reach than this. Down rocky edges to a stone valley, the familiar white hair and blue jacket could be seen in the not-so-distant distance, just more stone. It led the way in a series of dashes before dispersing. Chakra and memories came back to Horonigai as he turned to bow at the incoming Midori.

"Thank you for coming, Midori-sama. What uh, what is your favor?"

Midori would follow the clone from the borders of Iwagakure and out into Tsuchi no Kuni. There wasn’t much talking on the way towards the original Horonigai, and that was fine, the two would have enough time to talk when they were face to face. Nevertheless, the sage continued down the rocky path that Shizuoka was known for. The mountains were difficult to navigate for those who weren’t used to it, but Midori on the other hand did so with relative ease.

Up ahead the woman could see the small kid awaiting her arrival. His white hair was like a beacon and his blue jacket stood out as well, especially when surrounded by such dull and boring mountains. Midori looked down at her own outfit, and it’s not like hers was any better. A plain white shirt, black pants and sandals, she probably stood out just as much as Horonigai. Nevertheless, once she was finally in the guy’s presence she would take a bow.

"A pleasure to see you again, Horonigai-san.”

The woman would say softly as she inspected the area that he had chosen. There wasn’t much to it, however his curiosity did grab the woman’s attention as she smiled softly and shrugged her shoulders dismissively.

"I’ll tell you later, but for now I must ask, what is it from me that you seek?”

Midori said softly. This was his time, she wouldn’t worry him about the favor she had in mind mostly because it wasn’t extremely important. The sage was here for him, and so that would be the focus until the two were finished with their training.

Call it a surprise or something far more planned, Midori would revert the situation back to the Kyōbō, "Well, then, the pleasure is mine, thank you greatly for coming out here." Horonigai would then state, smiling at the woman as he took a long inhale, the words forming in his head. "Directly, I seek control. If you may recall, back in Shizuoka, I started glowing pretty early on, almost right off the bat. The Kyōbō clan abilities are tied with emotions to the point it seems like our anger fuels our power. It just exasperates it. Unlike the family I left behind, I just have less control of my anger which is less control of my abilities. I like to think I can control it to a point but if it is what I fear it's like, I can maybe weaponize it but that is the extent."

Horonigai mentally noted his dilemma sounds like a struggle of a monster than that of an average shinobi. He took his time, there was the factor that save for select individuals, no one really knew about the clan. He was still unaware if the Kage ever publicized his info leak. Everything being discussed relied heavily on trust but there was no way either missed the glow. So, at least he had evidence. "I figured it be beneficial I ask you, the sage. I know being one with nature is different than one with your emotions, I don't even know if it is possible, but for the good of everyone, I have to try my best."

Once again, the fragmented tears, an effect from the chakra mixed with emotions seeped out of his covered eye. Instead of falling however, the floated into the air before dissipitating from existence. Bowing once more, Horonigai thanked Midori again.

The sage would murmur happily as she shrugged her shoulders and waved her hand dismissively. Was it a part of her duties as a sage to help everyone? Not even in the slightest, but she always made it known that she would be there whenever anyone needed her regardless if it was just even helping a person cross the street.

Her arms folded over one another as a hand rested gently beneath her chin. Horonigai spoke of control, controlling his anger to be specific, and it was for the most part understandable. She too had anger problems when she was younger, it wasn’t until she began spending more time with her mother that she would grow into the peaceful and kind soul that she was today. The Kyobo clan were known to struggle with their anger, so it came as no surprise that Horonigai would be seeking help for it. Fixing her lips to one side as her eyes averted towards the sky, the woman would think.

The sage happily heard out Horonigai, the best part, she seemed to really believe in his explanation. That was a huge relief off the Kyōbō's shoulders. It seemed as if getting Midori's help was the wisest move, and there was no denying he greatly appreciated it. But the question she asked caused the Kyōbō to freeze. Thinking through all the possibilities, the Chūnin sighed. "I'd be lying if it was from watching my first love die in the exams." The Kyōbō muttered, the memory still hard to look back on, every detail was vivid, every emotion was surreal. "That I what drives me to protect, what helped me get here, but..." The white-haired shinobi paused mid-sentence, trying to find the words to help prove his point.

"I've had a common predisposition even before that, but among my kin, I had a more severe case. I truly don't know why. Maybe..." But anything that can remind me of when I lost her... I just, I just lose it. I never want to relive that, I never want to lose anyone like that, nor see them lost like that. No one deserves what Mako went through." With a heavy sigh, the Kyōbō clenched his fist.

"I know those answers are vague but that tells me it's generally pretty bad but certain events just make a bad thing extraordinarily worse." Horonigai said as he looked back at Midori.

Her arms crossed over one another as she rested a hand gently beneath her chin, trying her best to bite all the things that he’s been through. She sympathized with the boy internally, part of her wanted to reach out to hug the boy and tell him that everything would be fine. That it was okay. But her job here was to help him control the anger, not show him pity. A sigh escaped from her lips as her light brown eyes narrowed and fell upon the chunin. ‘I’m so sorry Horonigai.’ Thinking to herself as she took in a deep breath. ‘...But…’

"What if I told you that you’re acting like a child and that no one cares about what makes you angry.” She said in the harshest tone that her sweet soft voice could produce. Those words escaping her breath felt as if she had a ton of weight placed upon her shoulders. That wasn’t who she was, she was never like that. But in order to get Horonigai to become genuinely angry she had to be rude without letting him know that it was a tear. It was the only way to provide accurate results. A brief moment of silence passed as Midori collected her thoughts. Clenching her fist, the woman would force herself to go on with the act.

"We are shinobi. We’ve all lost, and we will always continue to lose. There is no love in this world. So stop crying over Mako because that’s not going to bring her back. Maybe if you put as much effort into becoming a stronger shinobi then you complain, Maybe .. just maybe ….. you would’ve been able to help her.”

There were some truths in that, but for the most part it was all a charade to get Horonigai to get as pissed off as possible. She couldn’t tackle his anger issue, if he were comfortable and content the entire time. Nevertheless, the sage would prepare herself for whatever the consequences to her actions were. Whether it be the boy lashing out with his words or with his fist. Midori was expecting the latter.

His words were like a knife, cutting into not only her stomach but her heart and soul at the same time. She felt his pain, the very words he spoke, the woman felt the emotion in them - it was all relatable to the sage. Though there was truth to her words, she did not want to be an asshole to the boy. This was only for the exercise, if she weren’t here to help him control himself then she would have held him tightly and told him it was okay, that he did all that he could and that it wasn’t his fault.

She could tell how much her words wounded him - It was to the point where his chakra began to conform around his body like a cloak of some sort. His eye twitched and he clenched his fist tightly, an indication that he was holding himself back from doing anything foolish, except that was the reason why Midori was here alongside him now, so that he could manage that anger.

"And what are you going to do about it?” The woman retorted with the same soft voice that she was known for. It wouldn’t take a genius to see through the lady’s fake tough-guy act, in fact those who truly knew her could see the pain that she felt having to be such an asshole to Horonigai. Still, she had to go through with it, to ensure that the boy was at his angriest and wasn’t holding anything back. If he wanted to control it, then they couldn’t half-ass their training.

As he turned his back to the woman, Midori would simply scoff at his actions, staying true to her new personality. "Pssh...Running away from your problems, huh? Give Mako another reason to be disappointed in you.” She spoke calmly, expecting nothing other than a punch to the face in return. Her demeanor on the outside was conceited, but on the inside the woman felt every wound that Horonigai did as if she were in his shoes.

His knuckles became bare white from the force of clinching them he was frozen to his emotions; breath became shaky and his eye looked in pain. Horonigai gripped his eyes as the shaky breaths became still, with his back still turned to Midori, her next words stopped his pace. Midori took another jibe at his neigh-dead world. Almost applauding the decision to walk away. "What the hell do you know about losing someone close to you?! What do you know about love? How the fuck dare you use Mako... How dare yo- How-" Each jibe of anger practically choked Horonigai full of emotions.

I- I let her die..." It seemed as if Horonigai was about to crumble but he managed to pull himself up, whipping around, Horonigai punched the air. The Chūnin switched gears and instantly rushed to Midori, hopefully, locking hands with her at an impressive strength.

Midori said nothing, instead she would scoff at his words as if she didn’t care enough to hear him out. Sure she knew what loss was, she lost a lot during her time as an Iwagakure shinobi, so of course she understood his pain and suffering. But for the moment, that didn’t matter. Rolling her eyes, the woman would fold her arms over her chest as the boy emptied out his emotions. His back still turned to her as he spoke of what it was like to live his life, to be in his position. He couldn’t save a loved one, but there was no reason to hang onto the past.

The sage on the other hand remained silent, standing there listening to the boy before he quickly turned around and stroked the air, sending a wave of purple chakra barrelling towards her. Shielding her eyes and her face altogether with her arms, Midori would accept the attack, leaning forward into it to make sure it didn’t sweep her away. The chakra would cut and tear parts of her skin as the chakra passed over her. She deserved it, there was no need for her to rush off to dodge his anger.

As the boy rushed toward her, she would lock grasps with him. She could feel the emotion rushing through his body, his heart thumped from anger as she could see the pain in his eyes. His strength was formidable, but it wasn’t overpowering the woman. Blood dripped and ran down her arms as she pushed back.

"Is that all you got?” She started, "No wonder you couldn’t save her.” She felt as if that would be the final straw before the boy kicked her ass, and that’s all that she wanted, was his true emotions.

As the two locked hands, the Kyōbō's auric violet-hued shell encased his hands and then his entire body. The boy gripped harder on the hands of Midori, eyes soaked with tears but anger dominated their shape. No remorse nor regret can be seen upon his face as he would attempt to rapidly push Midori's hands over her wrist, it was a cheap maneuver but an effective set up as he would finish the jutsu, dealing a sucker punch to the face of Midori, almost breaking his own fist with the force he put behind it. If the jutsu was successful, it may send the woman flying depending how well she can take a Kyōbō punch. That one bandit could not at all.

The words of the woman echoed in his head, warping to be more condescending, more aggravating, rage seemed to effectively take him over as he weaved 5 handseals, just these 5 were insurance in the event she planned to retaliate; the boy move quickly, chakra only enhanced his movement as he delivered an overloading blow to Midori, whether she was on the ground or still soaring the air. The boy could be safely stated as lost it as he raised a single handseal, forming an indigo aura around him, holding the sign as it began to grow immensely, lifting the rocks around him.

"What the hell did you say about Mako?! I'll kill you for that!" Horonigai stated, he was talking, that meant he was calming down, right? The boy slammed his fists t the ground, lifting them as stone knuckle dusters covered his palm, choosing to body flicker, appearing only a meter in front of her, ready to strike again.

Utilizing the Doton element, the user will stomp their foot on the ground while channeling chakra into it, sculpting it into what they need. The earth is hardened using chakra giving it durability that is hard to break. The sculpted earth can be reshaped at any time but the size of the object cannot be increased. In this case the weapon made a pair of knuckledusters around each fist.

DESCRIPTION:
By invigorating one's entire body with chakra, a shinobi can seemingly disappear and reappear in another location faster than most people can see. Often times one's movements are disguised with the use of an extra element, be it a smoke bomb, leaves, water, sand, etc. in order to hide the user's trajectory from those with skilled eyes. Though it mimics teleportation, it is important to remember this jutsu merely boosts the agility of its user. As useful as this technique is, it can only be used 4 times in a battle thread, compounding in exertion and difficulty each time. with any more usages beyond that result in muscle tears in the legs from overexertion. The hand seal for this technique must be held until the shinobi reaches their destination, making it impossible to utilize other techniques regardless of any preparation.
