"You know who's going to inherit the Earth? Arms dealers.
'everyone else is too busy killing each other.”
Yuri Orlov - Lord of War

TwoFour they were.

It was another simple day in Wahei's routine. He already had some training with Shigure right early in the morning. Afterwards, he had some work to do liasing the team 3 but also had to make time to a medical study, practice and research to make. He had a full day.

The good point is that we was now not only used to his byakugan but giving plenty of use to it on his daily activities. The eye have discretely become part of him, and that speedy adaptation was something he could thank to his Hyuga friend. Speaking of, after a mutual long day, both of them have decided to meet up later that night to have a break and hang out a little to talk about the rumors about the upcoming of new chunin exams.

As expected, Wahei was clueless to what was about to happen on it albeit he knew one thing or two about the event. In his mind, becoming a chunin would be a consequence of his excelling as a mednin. As team 3 would have the following day off, they decided to have a fun night for a change sou they could rest up from a harsh week.

Shigure was well known by his sharp punctuality but Wahei wasn't the kind of reckless person who was always late too. That night, though, some minutes passed by and Shigure had to wait for his comrade. It was slightly strange, but not that unusual to flare suspicious up.

---

- What time is it? - he lost track of time, indeed, focused in his research in the medical lab - Shoot! I need to go! - He jumped out of his lab chair, taking off his lab coat and putting the rest of the safety equips in the trash can of the changing room - Can you please take care of the rest to me? Thank you! - he not even give the choice to his comrades to answer his request and he fled from the lab running away to the meeting point - Damn! I totally forgot Shigure's memento in my place... - he cursed, wondering that he should've made time in his lunch to get it earlier - If move quickly enough, perhaps he will not have to wait longer than a couple of minutes - and he rushed his steps to go at his place first before heading to the meeting point.

- 'Kay, let's see where I left it... probably over the desk.. - he quickly headed to the living room and felt a weird sensation. He wasn't alone - This is what you looking for, kid? - Ohhh!? Shinsuke-san? What are you doing here? - Huh. Since you got this eyes of yours you never was the same anymore. You used to get all excited about my root suits. - What? I didn't even activated my byakugan this time but after a while I understood that you'd probably be the only one who'd come to my place in the middle of the night wearing stuff like this. I mean, I'm not a person of interest anymore. Right? I've already proof I'm one to trust, I suppose. But even back there it was always you who'd come to look after or up to me whatsoever - Eeh? When did you get all smartass and grown up like this, kid? Ur mom would be proud - and the man took of his mask revealing his face with his typical taciturn smile.

The man leaned his legs over the desk crossing it and making himself comfortable - You've been playing? - he asked, referring to the pieces organized in a Shoji board - I'd love to beat you down. We should play this. - the boy stared at the board, nodding to the man's comment and feeling the pressure of the clock ticking - Yeah. I have this friend on my team that come over and he was teaching me one thing or two... I'd love to play with you ... - the boy added honestly, but also sighted and buffed revealing his rush - Look, Shinsuke-san, I don't need to be rude but Shigure-san is waiting for me. - he explained trying to not offend him in any manner - And... You're not exactly the kind of person who show up for a cup of tea, cookies and talk over or to play Shogi... - now he was just stalling - Anyway - What do you need from me?

The man's face went serious, he leaned down his legs and posture, standing up from the couch and throwing the packaged - Shigure's memento - to Wahei to catch it and start walking around the living room randomly - Wow! Someone's sharp today, eh? This part used to be pretty more fun. - Well, I'm sorry I don't meant to ruin your date-night plans, kiddo, but - Yeah - I need something from you. - The man now leaned on a table turning again to the genin - But it also includes your dynamic duo - he picked up a scroll from his pocket along with a lighter and a cigar - You mind? - Wahei shrugged, opening the scroll - Would you please brief me in?

- Huum. Sure - he had a little struggle on lighting the cigar and eventually he gave up and start talking - Look at the seal at the bottom. This is not some bullshit pitty rescue. This is real deal. - The Hokage's seal!? - Yeup. We are playing by the book this time, kid. But they have called us because they needed discretion; obviously - 'kay, now you got my attention. - Shigure can wait - I'm all ears. - Now your sounding like Wahei I know. Have sit, it will take some time.

---

- SHIGURE-SAN! Gomenasai! - after pratically an hour late, Wahei showed up at the meeting place apologizing and bending-while-walking to his friend - Look, I know we have planned a night to hang out and chill but... - he paused, looking the surroundings of the place and lowering his tone - We've got called!! They recognized us!!! - and he discretely passed over the scroll under the table to Shigure. He had that uncommon and serious expression tho, which means things were really serious after that slightly typical sparkle of enthusiasm.

The boys would end up leaving the place to walk around towards a little more discrete place, so Wahei could brief his friend in. With that being done, he would also bring up further details that Shinsuke had provide to him "out-of-record". Including the fact that they'd have to choose more two entrusted ninjas to go with them.

- Isn't that crazy? - I mean - with that kind of log I would expect them to send at least a chunin, but Shinsuke wanted us specifically and gave us the benefit of choosing - probably tho because of the outcomes in our lab search mission - he added with a very surprised and thoughtful tone - Anyway - if think it straight, since it requires discretion is there a possibility that they expect to easily vanish us in case things goes wrong - But you're the Hyuga heir - he thought, ending his thoughts with no particular conclusion - Well, what'd think, Boss? - I mean - our obviously first choice is Yoru since this is a great opportunity for the three of us as a team, but what do you think if we also call up Shikajin-san? He is a chunin after all and would be great to have someone with higher patent to count with...

The uncertainty lead them to discuss further, but Shikajin's name would eventually be replaced by someone very familiar to Wahei that he wouldn't have thought before - Ōorigami Asahi-san? - I mean - Yeah - I know him. Yuuta-sensei introduced us and we have been training and studying medical stuff together. He indeed is a great name, now that you mention it. Well thinking!. - Now that Shigure suggestion was promptly accepted and get Wahei even more excited, they started discussing the final details. After coming up with it all, it was time for the arrangements: time to go, meeting point and recruitment - Okay!  Let's review our checklist: we're leaving in six hours, which means tomorrow, 5 AM. Meeting place is the alley in the surroudings of the square located close to the southern gate - the one with the big trash can - right? I'll go catch up my stuff and get Yoru-kun. You will reach and bring Asahi-san, is that it? When we form up we'll review our objectives and best COA. Right?

---

Wahei was indeed a very methodical person and even though he wasn't usually charged with the preparation of the missions, but this time he took the lead and did things his way, organizing and planning it into the very detail. After having a confirmation from Shigure, the genin left towards Yoru's house, briefing him in of the most necessary details and then heading over his place. He will have few hours to get ready and finally get some sleep. When the time comes, since he was very excited, he was the first person to arrive at the alley. He was dressing his regularly clothes and equips, albeit this time having a large coat covering his body. There he waited for the others to arrive - Yoru included, since he would have passed the instructions accordingly.

"From the very moment we're thrown into this world, we're fated to bring each other nothing but pain, suffering and misery. I was also blindly obsessed with a trivial and irrational need for vengeance. But I was left behind. Alone. Forgotten. Abandoned. Forsaken. But now, the fog has been truly lifted. One can never run from its ghosts. And that’s exactly all that I am. A lost memory. An undying shadow, in this world of light. From now on, I’ll have to live up to this semi-charmed kind of life. Regardless of this phantom pain. This is my fate. This is my Destiny. It’s not the light which will guide us through the darkness, but the darkness that shall guide us through the light. Never forget. Always remember."

PREPARATION AND GATHERING

The two teammates were about to hang out somewhere in Konoha, they decided that their meeting spot would be the Ichiraku Ramen, near the crossroads, and at the designated time, as usual, Shigure was there. The Hyuuga sit on a bench nearby and patiently waited for Wahei, who didn't show up. After a good fifteen minutes, Shigure started growing slightly concerned as to why Wahei wasn't there yet, but this concern was quickly replaced by the grumbling of his stomach as the smells of the Ichiraku Ramen filled his nostrils with its appetizing temptation. "Well... Maybe he got sidetracked... Guess I will go for a little snack." and with that being said, Shigure walked to the counter, sitting there and giving the man a large smile. "A large shoyu ramen with extra pork! Thank you!" he said in a polite and happy tone.

When the food was ready, Shigure clapped his hands together. "Itadakimasu!" and upon taking the first bite of his food, the explosion of flavour filled his heart with joy. "Delicious!" he exclaimed, quickly devouring his meal. And since Wahei gave no signs of showing up when he finished it, Shigure decided to go for seconds, this time a nice tonkotsu ramen. Once he finished the second meal and felt fully satisfied for now, he thanked the man behind the counter, paid it and walked out of the Ramen place with a smile on his face.

Ironically, that was when Wahei decided to show up, apologising for his tardiness. The Hyuuga waved to him, not really seemingly upset about his delay. "Wahei-kun! I was wondering where you were... What?! What do you mean?" caught by surprise by his friend's revelation, Shigure approached to hear what he had to say. The duo walked to an alleyway nearby, which seemed empty enough and then Wahei started filling Shigure in on what this was all about. Shigure looked surprised, but internally he was proud to feel noticed by the village, and entrusted with such a mission. Seemed like his efforts were not in vain, and that he was truly growing as a Shinobi.

"This is big, Wahei-kun... I'm surprised, but I'm also flattered. If anything, this is a recognition of our skill and effort!" more than anything, Shigure craved to show to the village that he had it in him to be a Chuunin, and one opportunity like this was something he long desired: not being dragged to a mission by luck, but by merit. They had two more teammates they could bring along to this mission, and when Wahei proposed Yoru, Shigure nodded. He knew this was going to be a dangerous missions, but after their off vacation with Yuuta-sensei, he felt confident the young boy deserved a chance alongside them. Then, he mentioned Shikajin, but Shigure shook his head. "He is out on a mission, didn't you hear? Probably won't be back for a while... Bu I think I have someone in mind. He is no Chuunin, but he is quite competent, I can vouch for his combat skill and resourcefulness. His name is Oorigami Asahi." he said with a firm nod.

Shigure had trained with Asahi and knew that he was among the finest Genin in the village, and if they couldn't have a Chuunin with them for the mission, they would make it up by uniting the best team of Genin the village had to offer. When he suggested the name, he was expecting to have to explain more about him, but surprisingly Wahei knew about him. "You know each other? Well... That being said, it only makes sense. In any case, I'm glad we are settled then!" he said with an enthusiastic smile and a firm nod.

Then, as they decided on their meeting spot, Shigure parted ways with Wahei, heading towards Asahi's residence. He didn't stop there or knock. Instead, he put a scroll through his mail with the mission request with his name on it, as well as their meeting place for the following day. It was a bit of a last minute thing, but that was part of a Shinobi's life. Shigure had faith his fellow Genin would show up, so he want home to get well rested and ready for the next day.

On the next day, Shigure was likely the first one to arrive at their meeting spot. He was wearing his normal ninja attire, composed of a red shirt with a beige hoodie on top, bandages covering his hands and black pants. He wore his forehead protector, and had not only his ninja tools on his leg holster and back pouch, but also a backpack for the trip, with some supplies, map and a compass; they had to travel to the south after all, and although Shigure was well familiar with the geography of the Land of Fire, caution was always something a Shinobi should be keeping in mind.

"So what if it seems hopeless? If it were me, I still wouldn't give up. Embrace your dreams. And, whatever happens, protect your honour as a Shinobi, for the price of freedom is steep."

age 13 years old birthday July 12 rank Genin occupation Genin Team 3
The time had come, it was very late at night when Yoru decided to train, it was a recurring habit in the boy's life, who had already gotten used to training until late at night, the boy washes his face with some hot water and decides to go to the garden of the house, the most peaceful place in the house at that moment.

The young Nara sits on that green and well-groomed grass and closes his eyes, for him training the mind was as important as training the body and so Yoru closes his eyes, starting to meditate, the boy started to concentrate quickly, training his control of Chakra, he advanced a lot with the help of Toshizou, but the boy wanted to reach higher horizons.

A noise, it was just a noise that took the boy out of his state of concentration, but that noise was familiar, Yoru slowly opens his eyes and sees his friend Wahei, standing in front of the gate of the house, Yoru wonders what Wahei was doing there at this hour, but he didn't want to keep the boy waiting, especially with the cold that was getting, Yoru gets up and goes to the gate, asking:

-G-good night, Wahei-san... What are you doing here at this hour? Hmmm, A MISSION? SERIOUSLY? OH MY GOD THAT'S AWESOME! SEE YOU TOMORROW, WAHEI-SAN.

Yoru couldn't contain his enthusiasm, it was a serious mission, just like the boy wanted, this serious mission would be great for Yoru to show his skills and even gain more confidence and the best he would be with his friends, Yoru says goodbye to Wahei, with a warm smile and he runs towards his room, trying to get some rest for the mission to come.

The next day Yoru woke up early, the enthusiasm that was his alarm clock and apparently worked, the boy goes to the bathroom, brushes his teeth and takes a hot shower, so Yoru takes a green coat with a fuzzy hood, a black shirt and gray pants, the Nara quickly goes down the stairs, passing through the kitchen, the living room and the garden, where he opens the gate and runs to the place indicated by Wahei, with a smile on his face.

After a long walk, Yoru finally arrived at the indicated place, there he sees his friend Shigure, the boy approaches and says:

-O-ohayo, Shigure-san! How are you? And where are the others?

Yoru looks around and doesn't see his friends, for a moment he looked confused, until he realized he arrived early, the boy spoke impressed:

-I-I ARRIVED EARLY!

SOMEDAY WE WILL CONNECT THE DOTS AND UNVEIL THE WORLD
Asahi was up late the night before the call to meetup with the other three genin, and he almost missed it. He had been in his apartment tweaking the mechanics of his mask as the hours escaped him. One second there was daylight outside his window. Next he looked up, he was greeted by stars. He glanced at his watch to see how long he had been in the void of studying. It was 11pm. "Feel up for a walk?" Asahi said aloud, and from an outsider perspective, it would seem he was talking to himself.

The green centipede that crawled out from under his white lab jacket and curled itself around his neck and shoulder answered, "That would be good for you. There was a point where you didn't even hear me anymore." Asahi let out a small laugh, something he didn't do often anymore. He knew how he was when he really got in the zone.

He looked back down at his progress. The white mask that sat on his work desk stared back at him. Asahi had a couple of ideas for improvements on the mask, but he had hit a couple of roadblocks. Maybe it would be good to walk away from it and come back. The boy nodded, finally making the decision to get up and get some fresh air.

As he left for his walk, he noticed the scroll in his mailbox. It looked different than the sparing scrolls he sometimes found there. He grabbed it and read it as he walked. His expression went from neutral to shocked. "A B Rank mission?" softly escaped his lips. He looked at those who would be on the mission with him. Shigure and Wahei were two shinobi he already knew, but the other name, Yoru Nara, was a new name...Asahi cut his walk short and rushed back to his apartment to reset his mask to normal, and prepare for the mission to start.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The boy only got a couple of hours of rest by the time he was ready, and those couple of hours were filled with nightmares. Ever since his encounter with Heiou, nightmares usually greeted him when he closed his eyes for sleep. Sometimes, the nightmares greeted him in the day when he closed his eyes. This lack of good rest showed on Asahi's face, but he moved at his usual pace. At this point, his body felt used to the sleepless nights.

The green centipede hid itself in the creases of Asahi's white jacket tied around his waist. Above it, a tank top that matched his hair color sat on his shoulders. Below, drawstring shorts of the same color. He carried all of the things he may need for the mission in his pouches and backpack, having carefully prepared in his exchange for his sleep. He looked at the mission scroll one more time to make sure he was heading the right way. Eventually, his golden eyes saw the three other genin in the distance.

He took a deep breath and approached the group with a wave. For Shigure and Wahei, who had met him before, it would be clear that something would be different about the boy's demeanor. He was usually neutral, but a somewhat friendly neutral. That friendliness had been replaced with something else that was hard to put a finger on. Was it fear? Was it sadness? Anger? Hard to say, but it was clear that a new, slightly gray cloud hovered over Asahi. The gold of his eyes had a new dullness in them.

He spoke and bowed to the group when he had joined them. "Shigure, Wahei, its nice to see you again." They didn't know how true those words were to Asahi. Then he turned his bow toward the black haired boy. "And you must be Yoru? Nice to meet you." Asahi spoke casually with his teammates for the time being. He rose from his bow after his greeting was done and the same neutral expression rested on his face.

He eyes went from member to member of the team as his brain went over what he knew about them. On the outside, he stayed silent, but the boy was already strategizing and compartmentalizing the important info about each individual. He and Wahei both knew medical jutsu so that would be good if things got out of hand. Shigure was a physical force to be reckoned with, at least in Asahi's eyes. But, Yoru was still a mystery to Asahi.

Leadership.

Wahei watched everyone arrives at the meeting point and received everyone with a large smile. He couldn't contain the enthusiasm. But while awaiting for them to come, one thing crossed his mind. Was he really able to lead-up that mission? Shigure was the taichō of the team 3 but, since Shinsuke entrusted that mission directly to him, would that mean that he would have to take the stand this time?

He wasn't nervous about having to lead, he really felt capable of doing that since most of things related to the shinobi life worked as a very methodical scheme in his head. But would that be OKAY from the perspective of others? A book he once read said it is not only polite but very important in terms of leadership to know how to listen to others.

The other thing he was considering is that he usually plays best at the back-line, so Shigure was used to handle with the planning details and come up with strategies. Not that it would be mandatory for the leader to handle all this, but it would certainly come in handy.

This way, the thoughtful Wahei was interrupted by the 'joyful' when Shigure - as expected - was the first to arrive - Morning, Boss! - he waved friendly, coming from the shadows of the alley with that unusual dark. - I think it would be better if you lead us on this mission - he said as if Shigure could've known what he has been thinking of in the last few minutes - I mean - As much as I've this impulsive wish of taking the stand this time and I actually feel capable of doing so, you already have experience on leading us, and you know Asahi's skills better than I, even though we have been working together for a 'quite while' now... - he added, showing clearly that he have been thinking about the matter - So considering the details and the particularity of this mission, my conclusion is that the best COA is having you to lead us, Boss - "Shame on you, kid!" - he concluded, having PRIDE to curse him in his mind while whining about his urge to becoming the leader.

Although Wahei's methodical side that'd not easily let his emotions take place - except for social matters, of course, when he's usually pretty reckless - knowing the mednin for quite such time and being his closest friend would allow Shigure to note that a little glance of emotional conflict had crossed him on this one. Something that he ended up vanishing by his own conclusion, of course, but still that was there and coming from Wahei, it was, at least, uncommon. But probably nothing to worry about.

Wahei was more into the alley so when Yoru get at the meeting point he happened to not note he was there - Apparently my coat was a good choice for camouflage since you have not noticed me, Yoru-kun - he cracked a joke with that large smile, positioning better so Yoru could see him and also to greet him accordingly - Right on time indeed. Asahi-san is almost here too! - he pointed out to the boy getting closer, waiting for him to reach and complete the squad - It's nice to see you too, Asahi-san! - he retributed the boy's cumpliment politely, bending slightly with his typical large smile.

He gave time and space to everyone interact, greeting or even introducing to each other, before and only when he got the chance he would start briefing in the mission log in more details. - Well, guys. First of all I need to recognize and thank you for the promptly respond our calls and for supporting us in this delicate mission. - he said politely and in a sincerely grateful tone - This is a great opportunity for all of us and I'm absolutely sure that this team is more than capable of achieving our goals flawlessly. - he added confidently - But let's not make a fool of ourselves. This one is gonna be 'real deal'. Probably the toughest mission we ever had... - he looked from Shigure to Yoru and backwards, clearly focusing his teammates on purpose - ...but yet here we are! And absolutely nothing and no one will get in our way! - he extended his right arm for team-up greet. - Are you with me?

Regardless if the rest of the squad join him or not, he would keep his attitude up and confident. - We can head south for now and discuss the planning in the way. We still need to set how we are going to form up, but we can do this at the gate. I've also got this location map he lack's on details, only an idea of the whereabouts of the facility is suppose to be. - he gave a larger pause and get into a more serious expression - Just one more thing before we go... - he looked to his Hyuga friend - Shigure and I had talk few moments before you get here, and we decided that's for the best that he takes to lead us. I've already filled you all with every detail that I already know so after the gate he will assume, beginning by setting up our formation. - now there wasn't any hesitation or emotional trait in his tone. He was confident that they had made the best choice and he 100% trusted Shigure - Any considerations before we go? - he waited for the comrades in case they wanted to say something and then started moving towards the southern gate.

That was the same gate he used in his solo D-RANK mission, but this time he would travel through a totally different direction. He has never went through that direction before but this mission was being all about new opportunities and he was enjoying its every moment since he left his home to find Shigure the other day.

He would await for Shigure's instructions and decision with the formation. As he'd already know, Wahei preference is for staying at the back line as the last man, covering the back - now with the byakugan's support. That being set, if they decided to discuss a plan before getting close to the area, locating and scanning it better, he would eventually share some of his ideas for the task.

"No matter how many people you may lose, you have no choice but to go on living."

LEADER

Wahei was the first one there and he greeted Shigure with his normal enthusiasm, and then he immediately went on to reveal he would prefer for the Hyuuga to take the leadership role in this mission. Shigure arched one of his brows; he half-expected Wahei to be the one leading this time, but he didn't mind taking on the role; he was used to it. "Well, your argument is valid, so I will be honoured to lead us in this mission, if you are fine with that." he said with a subtle, yet kind smile on his face.

Shortly after their exchange of words, Yoru showed up, greeting Shigure and asking about the others. Shigure waved to his younger teammate. "Asahi-kun should be arriving soon, you are indeed early today." he said in a rather light-hearted tone; the mission was going to be challenging enough on its own, so he thought it would be good to have everyone relax a bit while they got ready to depart. Then, Wahei spoke to Yoru, pointing out that Asahi was close, prompting Shigure to look that way, spotting the green-haired boy.

However, upon seeing the Genin, he immediately noticed that something was different about him. His normal cheerful attitude was gone, and if felt like he had this dark cloud looming over his head. Shigure narrowed his eyes. It was hard to determine which emotion was taking its reigns on Asahi, but Shigure did take a mental note of that so he could pay attention during their mission. "Asahi-kun, it's great to see you. Thank you for aiding us in this mission." he responded with a rather friendly smile, not showing any signs of concern; he kept that deep inside his mind for now.

Once all the greeting was done, Wahei spoke again, thanking the group for responding to their call of duty, nd highlighting how great of an opportunity this was, and Shigure nodded in agreement, only to nod again when he asked if he was with them. Wahei gave a few instructions and then let the group know that the Hyuuga would be the one leading them on the mission, and asked for considerations before they departed. Shigure had nothing to add at this moment, so if everyone was ready, he would head towards the South gate.

When the group left the gates, Shigure would stop and turn to face the group. "Alright guys... We will travel in a line, keeping that type of formation. I will be the one in the front, and I will be using my Byakugan every so often to make sure we have no issues or enemies on the way. That being said, Wahei should take the rear. Although my Byakugan has enough range to cover his, having an extra Doujutsu would give us some extra safety. Yoru, I want you to follow behind me, and Asahi-kun behind Yoru." he paused for a moment, to let them voice their opinion, if they had anything to add. "It's not a long trip, so I expect us to be within the ballpark of our destination in no more than two hours. This is fine by me, but let me know if it's too much for any of you and we can discuss a short break halfway through it. Now... If everyone is ready, let's go!" and with that being said, Shigure would leap towards a tall tree branch and start making his way southward.

"So what if it seems hopeless? If it were me, I still wouldn't give up. Embrace your dreams. And, whatever happens, protect your honour as a Shinobi, for the price of freedom is steep."

Yoru saw from afar the green haired boy arrive, that hair somehow caught the boy's attention, no more than his golden eyes, the boy speaks politely to Yoru who replies:

-O-Oorigami Asahi-san, it's very nice to meet you!

Before that Asahi seemed to be talking to Wahei too, the boy turns and sees Wahei there, Yoru starts to blush, how has he not noticed Wahei yet? Wahei's joke caught the boy off guard who starts to laugh softly, in his usual shy way that replies:

-S-SORRY, WAHEI-SAN! I DIDN'T REALIZE YOU WERE ALREADY HERE...

So Yoru followed the boys to the south gate, the boy starts to pay attention to every detail of Shigure's plan, for the boy it was a great plan because Shigure can cover the whole area and because Yoru is the second of the queue already gave security to use his hijutsu, as it would have ranged enough to use the shadows, Yoru seemed immersed in thoughts, letting out one:

-Shigure-san has such good ideas, I can't wait to see him come true with his dream, sometimes I wish I had the courage like him to talk about strategies...

Soon after he sees Shigure leaping over a tree branch, Yoru follows the rhythm, following Shigure and already entering the formation, the boy seemed a little reluctant, but says:

-Guys, why don't we use codenames? It would be an easier way for us to communicate during the mission, for example Shigure-san can be "Owl", I can be "Deer", Wahei-san can be "Peace" and Asahi-san "Kami".

The group all got together and once everyone was greeted, Wahei addressed them with a speech of sorts. His fellow genin and medic was right. This would probably be the toughest mission he had been on yet. Asahi didn't say much after his initial entrance and simply gave Wahei a nod at the conclusion of his speech.

Then, Wahei suggested that Shigure lead the way and Asahi nodded again in agreement. That was the most logical choice, with the Hyuuga's eyes, speed and strength. Asahi was comfortable taking a backseat as far as heading the squad went. In his current state, he knew he was much more fit to take orders than give them.

The group made their way to the South Gate. Once there, Shigure addressed their group, and gave them their formation order.

Asahi would be third in their four man line. He had no complaints about that and with the way their squad was interacting so far, it eased the green haired boy a bit. It may be a tough mission ahead, but all of them were capable. ~Are you capable?~ the intrusive thought distracted him from Shigure letting them know how far away the destination was.

~What are you really capable of, little one?~ the voice in his head changed from his own to the giant centipede he had sold his life to. The demon that haunted him when he closed his eyes to sleep. ~You aren't much more than an earthworm. Be grateful I let you craw-~ The monsters voice in his head was broken, and Asahi's attention was brought back to the present by Shigure announcing their departure. Shigure took off into the trees and Yoru followed. Asahi did the same, keeping rhythm with the other two.

Once they got on their way a bit, Yoru broke their brief silence. He proposed they all used codenames for the mission. With discretion being a necessity for this mission, codenames would be helpful in case their were some unknown ears that overheard them addressing each other.

Asahi listened to each codename Yoru proposed for them, and thought about why the boy may have picked them. When Yoru got to Asahi's own codename, the title took Asahi aback, causing him to lose the rhythm only for a moment. He got back in tune with the rhythm in the next moment.

Kami? God? How did that codename fit him? He was far from it. Asahi glanced down at his wrist, and the scar that Heiou had made. It was a reminder that he wasn't a god. Not even close. The green haired boy was aware of how distracted his mind was getting, but couldn't help it. Afraid his face would betray him, he put his white porcelain mask over it. The mask had a design that mimicked a face wrapped in bandages.

"I'm ok with that codename. Just curious, why'd you pick those?" Asahi gave his small lie and offered potential satiation to his curiosity.

Departure.

- Don't worry, mate, no hard feelings! Ha-ha! - Wahei said in a friendly tone, resting his hand lightly on Yoru shoulder for a bit and giving him a strong nod and large friendly smile.

Not long after the expected moment finally come, and it was time to go towards the destination unaware to what truly expect. Before they move though, as expected, Shigure give his first instructions related to the formation. Wahei nodded and agreed to it. He had think of alternative formations but none of them would be as effective as a straight-line since it would not only allow them to move quickly but also permit a better defensive stance should they need it. -
No worry, I'll watch our 'six'! - he smiled gently but confident.

Listening and observing the others,
Wahei felt the confidence rising up especially when Your complimented Shigure's sharpness on coming up with good strategies. But since he slightly downsized his own potential of doing so, Wahei mentioned, approaching again from him and again resting his hand in his shoulder like he had done moments earlier - Nah, Yoru-kun. You're a hell of strategist and I've got the chance to see it with this very eyes. - his tone was friendly but also serious - Not surprisingly, you are a hell of a Shogi-player - he added, now cracking a wide smile and tapping his should, indicating that was time for him to follow Shigure.

After the boy departed too, it was time for Asahi and Wahei moved his eyes towards him awaiting for him to take his position. He notices that the boy was considerably silent compared to the usual Asahi in our research facility. - "Maybe he is like Yoru - shy and introvert - when there's other people around. - Or perhaps he might be feeling out of place since he has none of his teammates around".

Wahei gave Asahi a thumbs up and a confident smile - It's great to have you with us, Asahi-kun! - I mean - I feel safer knowing that I have another strong-medic fella' in the squad. - he cracked a large enthusiastic large smile for him, keeping the gesture until the green-haired boy moved to join the formation. Wahei used the "kun" suffix on purpose trying to make Asahi feel better and an important part of the squad.

So time has come and it was his time to go and assume his place as the forth man in the squad. He took a deep breathe, closing his eyes for a while and feeling a cold breeze refresh his skin - "Nervous, kid?" - "What are you doing here, Envy? No offense but this is a tough mission we are heading too. I'd rather have Pride with me on this one. No offense" - "Offense taken, thank you very much. Let's say you abdicate on having him, but your deepest feeling triggered me. So you will have to deal with it, like it or not" - "Sorry. I don't meant to make little of you. I just... I think I'm a little nervous and worried that something might happen to my friends. So I think I got emotional wanting to get in control of every detail. That's probably what triggered you" - "Woah. Nice one, smartass. But hey! Aren't you a medic? If something happens you just go and do your medical shit to put they back in one piece. Easy-pick. Get through this and put your shit together" - I know. But it's not that simple, I guess, but truth be told, I think you're right, mate. Thanks, Envy!" - "For what?" - "For helping me to cut out that blinding fog. I can see things more clearly now thanks to what you have said" - "Hunf! - This one was on you, pal. We are not friends! Just to be clear, I miss when you were a scared-kitty afraid and bitching out when my voice haunted you" - "Nah, I don't buy it. I know you enjoy my company because the truth is you want people to notice you. And I do, actually, and I'm happy for having you with me on this one" - "Whatever you say, pal, just quit being so pussy, will'ya?" - "I can't promise you that, mate. But we have to go now!"

He opened his eyes again, jumping towards the tallest branch and getting impulse to quickly follow his companions, assuming his position as planned by Shigure. When Yoru proposed code names, Wahei agreed, but get surprised by his choices - "Heiwa (平和) instead of Wahei (和平 )? That's brilliant!" - he chuckled by his teammate choice

.
.
.

The trip went well for the first hour and apparently everyone was OK to keep pushing for the next one. Shigure was fiercely moving forward and using his dojutsu to make sure they got a clear path to go. Yoru and Asahi follow his lead accordingly, aware of their surroundings.

The squad took the quickly route travelling through the deepest forest. That would require more attention from their part considering that the terrain was considerably dangerous than the common roads, but it would save them time enough to make it in the time proposed by Shigure.

Eventually they would end up coming across few minor obstacles expected for that kind of terrain, like choose on dodging or fight a few bigger creatures, suspicious traveler camps and traps placed in the woods, but also some environmental challenges like cliffs, rivers and some stone-valleys. All and all, it wasn't something really challenging for the group though but depending on the decision it will take more or less time to achieve their aimed location and effort to make it through, respectively.

Eventually they will get in the ballpark area and as soon as they get closer, the number of traps raised significantly, so they had no choice but slow down their pace and adjust the formation getting closer to each other. As soon as they got deep in the area, Wahei ignite his byakugan again, scanning at the back to be sure they weren't being followed at that point.

- We have been travelling for a while now, and considering that the number of the traps have raised considerably, I think we should take a short break to rest, hydrate, analyse the area better and come up with a better strategy should Shigure can reach the facility already. - he proposed, awaiting for the team's answer.

From where they where, Shigure was able to reach the facility with his byakugan but its inside plant, or neither locate their targets. But the outskirts of the facility was full with manufacturers that appear to be regular citizen from the around commonwealths, but also had several guards spread through the yard and some even patrolling the woods, specially close to the dirty hidden roads used by the bandits to smoothly conduct their business. But the worse part wasn't only that the guards were so many, but they also had dogs aiding in their patrolling, so getting close would mean startling which will ruin the necessary discretion of the mission.

After collecting more INFO, the team would have to (1) come up with a strategy to both sabotage and shut down the facility and (2) locate the powder-brothers and extract them without alerting the guards.

"No matter how many people you may lose, you have no choice but to go on living."

STRATEGY

Since Shigure had already leaped to the tree, he didn't hear Yoru talking about him, otherwise he would feel a bit flattered and embarrassed. In any case, the Nara contributed to the mission with codenames and that made Shigure glance back to him. "You know what? Awesome insight, Ruru... I mean, Deer." he quickly corrected himself. "When I went on a B-Rank Mission with Kazuto-senpai, he warned us about using our real names close to enemy territory. So I've gotta say, you had an ANBU mindset just now." he complimented the younger member of their team. He knew that Yoru still struggled to be confident about himself, so he wanted to make sure he felt good about this idea. The Hyuuga didn't mind his codename, Owl was somewhat fitting, considering they had a good eyesight.

Wahei also complimented Yoru's strategic mind. The Nara was used to selling himself short, but he was actually quite the little genius, and his brain was a real asset for the team, so Shigure was happy Wahei was reinforcing that fact.

He did seem a little confused about the meaning of Asahi's name, because without proper context, it could be perceived as God, Paper or even Hair. Seemed like Shigure wasn't the only one to feel that way, and Asahi asked Yoru what motivated him to pick the codenames, and even though that wouldn't really impact the mission, Shigure kept his ears open to hear what crossed the young Nara's mind.

One hour passed and they kept on going strong. Shigure's Byakugan was being activated every now and then to make sure they were clear and prevent any surprises, while at the same time not wasting chakra unnecessarily; even though he was a born Hyuuga, he didn't want to be too cocky and end up coming up short in a time of need. Shigure's eyes also helped them avoid beasts and difficult terrain for the most part, which helped the team to conserve energy, until they approached the area they were supposed to go to. Once there, it was time to keep the Byakugan active more continuously, and with that, Shigure managed to spot a plethora of traps, from simple kunais to explosive tags. They were not playing around, and once he saw that, he paused and indicated his team to stop for a moment.

When he did so, Wahei suggested them to take a quick break and Shigure nodded in agreement. "Give me a moment to scan the area." and with that being said, Shigure focused on checking the place and relaying the information for the team. "The facility is five-hundred metres from here, but around it there are plenty of workers. They have no chakra, so they are just civilians. But together with them there are also some guards. Most of them, like I said, have no chakra, so they are not a big issue by themselves, but there are two alarms in the area. We want those gone..." he mentioned, pausing for a moment. "They also have some dogs, so they could catch our smell from afar... In total, I see twenty workers, ten guards, and five dogs." he paused again, touching his chin in a rather thoughtful expression.

"My suggestion is to use the transformation technique to disguise ourselves as workers. Asahi and Yoru, you two should approach the two alarm towers and deactivate them. With your Kage Mane, you can at least stop some of them if they spot you, and Asahi's special arms could help with tampering with the alarms. As for me and Wahei... I think we should seek to take down the other guards as discreetly as possible, prioritising the dogs. You can add to our numbers with your Water Clones, and I can at least make one Shadow Clone, that way we can strike all of them swiftly. Thoughts?" he asked his teams for their input.

"So what if it seems hopeless? If it were me, I still wouldn't give up. Embrace your dreams. And, whatever happens, protect your honour as a Shinobi, for the price of freedom is steep."

Yoru hears Asahi asking why the boy chose those specific codenames, Yoru smiles and replies:

-W-well, for Shigure-san I chose "Owl" although they can only turn their heads 270º, owls have a very accurate vision and that's why I chose "Owl" for Shigure-san, I chose "Deer" because the Nara clan breed deers, for Wahei-san it was because his name means "Peace" and you Asahi-San, sorry for the confusion, but I meant "Kami" of paper, already your last name is Oorigami!

It was even easier than he expected, the words managed to come out, not like in his shy moments, when razors seemed to come out of his throat, the boy continued to think about it as he headed towards his destination.

Yoru's cheeks start to turn red, contrasting with the boy's pale skin, he didn't quite know how to react to these compliments so shyness was a natural response, the boy thanks him, then came Shigure's response praising the idea From Yoru's codenames and mindset, the boy's cheeks get even redder and he almost trips over one of the branches, the boy shyly replies:

-Th-thanks Shigure-san, Wahei-san!

It had been an hour since the boys had been traveling and Wahei proposed a break, by Yoru that was ok as it would be a good time to scan the area and think about plans.

Shigure came up with a plan, Yoru paid attention to every detail, his job with Asahi was to deactivate the alarms, the use of kagemane would be essential, Yoru thinks for a while and asks, raising his hand:

-What do you guys think of a previous use of genjutsu as well? Since they're just guards and don't have chakra, they wouldn't be able to get out of one, as they probably don't have Kai either.

Yoru explained his reasoning behind the codenamed he came up with, and the rest of the group agreed with their new names. The group couldn't see it, but Asahi cracked a smile under the mask. He laughed at himself inside his head, at his head.

Of course Yoru hadn't meant god by "Kami". And the play on his last name was clever. "No apology needed. It's a good choice and play on my name. You're pretty quick aren't you?” Asahi asked, making an assumption about Yoru’s intellect, but it was an educated assumption, coming from someone who was also quick in his own way.

The group traveled for about an hour and throughout that hour that passed plenty of traps. Asahi activated and deactivated his extra arms as they went and faced them, using them to redirect his body as they went and dodge certain traps that came his way. The group made it through all that and stopped to regroup and plan.

Shigure used his eyes to scan the upcoming area and relayed a potential plan to the group. There were mostly facility workers on the outside, but a couple of guards. ~20 workers, 10 guards, 5 dogs, copy that!~ Asahi said in his head to solidify the information. Apparently there were also two alarms, one of which he had been tasked with disabling.

"Disguising ourselves as workers is a good idea, and since most of them aren’t shinobi splitting up the tasks two and two, I also agree with.” Asahi agreed with Shigure’s plan, and behind the mask, admired his fellow genin. The Hyuuga heir seemed like a natural leader. Yoru brought up the idea of using genjutsu as well.

"That’s a good point Yoru. I don’t know any genjutsu myself, but if that could freeze up or distract the guards while we handle the alarm, that would be helpful.” Asahi added, agreeing with Yoru’s idea as well. They had a good set of heads being put together.

He glanced down at his waist, remembering that little Yasu was still there and could also be used, however something told Asahi that Yasu wouldn’t like the proposition of getting close to the enemy. He would bring it up to the little summoning creature in a bit, but for now he addressed the plan his team had come up with further.

"Hey Shigure, if you could describe in detail what the workers are wearing, we could probably get an accurate transformation close enough from this distance, without having to get closer and risk the dogs smelling us early.” The green haired boy added an idea of his own.

The plan.

- Since our objective is to shut down the facility besides locating and extracting the Powder-Brothers, I'm afraid we'd have to play it through smoothly! - Wahei said it calmly while thinking about the strategy the team had come up so far. - Disguising seem to be good, but since they have dogs... - he paused intentionally - I don't think they are like ninken's though but we should be careful about our scent either way just to be sure. - I mean - their sharp nose can get us in trouble.

Wahei was thoughtful about how they would put the plan into action. Since it wasn't a ordinary facility it was not surprising if they had a reinforced surveillance. They had two distinct objectives and the urge for absolutely discretion. Putting a wrong guard to rest, for instance, could mean a breach of protocol in the guards routines and a kind of gap that could be soon noticed and announce the presence of invaders - putting the rest of the crew under alert and possibly pushing away their chance of capturing the powder-brothers.

- Perhaps we should look better into it before making a move - he finally said - I mean, they are an underground facility controlled by wanted criminal. They must have a very methodical control on who goes in and out - he explained his way to see things drawing a map in the floor using a stick based on what Shigure has reported, hypothetically considering alternative scenarios of surveillance rounds and shift turns that could make difficult to infiltrate - I mean, I'll not oppose to what we decide, but since we have two specific objectives and we have to make it through with absolute discretion, perhaps we could turn the element of surprise and plenty time available into our favor to study the details from inside-out and perfect a flawless infiltration.

The brown-haired boy explained his point of view thinking on the long term. He felt that there wasn't a reason for them to hush into the infiltration before being sure of the possibilites they had in hand. When Asahi asked for details of the workers wearing, Wahei nodded pointing out to his comrade - This is the kind of INTEL I'm speaking of - he said enthusiastically - I mean, using a clone and our byakugan's, we could monitorate'em closely and learn everything about them - he'd end up his suggestion.

Wahei would listen to their teammate considerations, but something started to bothering inside. A bad feeling coming from his bones. He decided to ignite his byakugan and looked around at their six. - Have you guys felt it too? - the weird sensation might have been noted by anyone else - There's something coming from our six.

Using the byakugan, Shigure would also notice a somewhat stagecoach coming from the road at the south of them. After it get closer and the boys hide better in the woods, lowering their chakra, they would also be able to heard the movement of the guards and workers to receive the one's inside. - It seems our special guests are finally here... but they are not alone. - he mentioned with a very worried tone - These people with them... they definitely are ninjas... - a proposal dramatic pause in his tone would highlight his state of alert. Knowing that other ninjas was involved, it would change things drastically. - This might affect our plan. What do we do now, Owl? - he turned to the team, even though he still thought that they should wait to collect more information over the place, the targets and now about the other ninjas.

"From the very moment we're thrown into this world, we're fated to bring each other nothing but pain, suffering and misery. EXECUTION

There were many factors at play in this situation, and being overzealous was not an issue; this was a B-Rank Mission after all. But one thing that Shigure had noticed so far was that not a single one of these people, not even the guards inside the facility had displayed any proficiency with chakra. They were just regular people, and if that was the case, this would be classified as a C-Rank Mission, which meant that there was definitely more to come. Yoru brought up the fact he could use Genjutsu to trap people and Asahi agreed with that approach, and so did Shigure. "I can't use Genjutsu, but that's an amazing tool for this type of mission. Use that to the best of your capabilities, Deer." he said, using the codename they had decided prior to their arrival.

When Wahei analysed the dogs, Shigure nodded confirming they were not Ninken. "Them being not Ninken means we can more easily fool even their sense of smell. We have many plants native to the area that we can rub on our clothing. This should mask our senses enough to allow our Transformation Technique to fool them." he added, coming up with a way to avoid being detected by the dogs. Wahei mentioned they should analysed it more, and Shigure agreed. When Asahi mentioned they needed details on their clothing, the Hyuuga nodded and went on to describe the clothing of the guard and workers in details, going deeply even into the type of fabric they used for their clothing thanks to his Byakugan.

Once that was done, Shigure grabbed a stick and drew a map of the facility on the dirt, so that all of them could have a clear idea of how it looked, where the entrances and exits were, and the route the guards and workers were taking. "Of course this is based on this brief observation, but the pattern they are displaying is what is to be expected of facilities like this. So... Oh, hang on! Someone is approaching." he warned them, and the group quickly hid in the bushes.

When Wahei mentioned they were not alone, Shigure nodded, gulping and feeling beads of cold sweat running down his temples. "Our targets are in there, and they have two body guards... And they are Shinobi. They look strong, definitely Chuunin level, but one of them has a large pool of chakra, akin to a Jounin. Now I understand why this mission is ranked as this." he admitted with a sigh.

The stagecoach headed into the facility, and once it was inside, the guard outside and the workers continued their routine as per previously described, which boosted Shigure's confidence they could transform themselves and take care of the guard, workers and alarms. There were no cameras there, this technological marvel was something quite rare, and they didn't have it at their disposal, which meant that if they did it right and quickly, they could knock everyone out and sneak into the place unnoticed. "Guys, let's proceed. They are heading deep into the underground. I don't know how long they will stay there, but with the thickness of the walls and the fact that they are now underground, they won't hear us if we are careful." with that being said, Shigure performed a single hand seal. "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!" and a perfect, corporeal clone of Shigure appeared near him. Then, he started rubbing the local plants on his clothing so it could get the local smell, and once that was done, he performed another hand seal, and the clone did the same. "Henge!" the original Shigure turned into a guard, looking exactly like the ones below, and the other one turned into a worker.

"Wahei, make your clones and come with me, let's flank them from the left there, where only one guard and one dog are stationed. I will take them down, and you replace them. Make one of your Mizu Bunshin into a dog." he said and once he was acknowledged by the boy, he proceeded.

Shigure hid in a bush near the man, and he dashed towards the guard. The man was surprised by his attack, but before the dog could bark, the Kage Bunshin threw a kunai right at its throat, killing it immediately. Shigure used his Palm Bottom to destroy the guards heart, and before he fell down, he held it. The clone quickly grabbed both corpses and hid it in the bushes nearby, and then he made the sign for Wahei to take the guard's place, as he pushed forward, sneaking around the facility with his clone.

"So what if it seems hopeless? If it were me, I still wouldn't give up. Embrace your dreams. And, whatever happens, protect your honour as a Shinobi, for the price of freedom is steep."

NAME: Kage Bunshin no Jutsu [Shadow Clone Technique]
RANK: B
CHAKRA USAGE: Medium
CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu [General]
ELEMENT: None
HANDSEALS: 1
DESCRIPTION:
The Kage Bunshin technique evenly distributes your chakra between one or more clones with form and substance.

The clones created by this technique are able to utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows, has all of their special abilities, as well as their kekkei genkai. Typically a clone's equipment doesn't retain any special abilities and the clone itself is dispersed when hit with a single attack or incapacitated, although the clone can also choose to disperse itself or be dispersed by the user.

When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained along with it's remaining chakra are passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones.

NAME: Henge no Jutsu [Transformation Technique]
RANK: E
CHAKRA USAGE: Very Low [Continuous]
CLASSIFICATION: Ninjutsu [General]
ELEMENT: None
HANDSEALS: 3
DESCRIPTION:
After performing the necessary hand seals, the user transforms their appearance to become that of another person, animal or even an inanimate object. This is considered one of the most advanced academy techniques, as it requires a constant emission of chakra as well as constant mental focus to maintain the transformation. Shinobi are limited to transforming into objects roughly their own size, preventing them from turning into a fly while being able to carry items far greater than their transformed state.

NAME: Shōtei [Palm Bottom]
RANK: D
CHAKRA USAGE: Very Low
CLASSIFICATION: Taijutsu

DESCRIPTION:
The user thrusts their palm forward, hitting the enemy’s body with a quick and precise motion. The technique is both basic and deadly; this is because like any other Gentle Fist technique it injects chakra into the target causing a great deal of internal damage. When the technique is used it usually temporarily paralyzes an opponent but the collateral damage is not on par with much more elaborated techniques.

Yoru was surprised by asahi's sudden question and he asked something nice in the boy's sight, he seemed to think about the answer, he smiles and replies:

-Kami, I'm just a 13-year-old boy, hihihi!

At least in Yoru's view that was funny, but it wasn't time to laugh but focus on the mission.

The boys seemed to discuss their plans, the idea of using genjutsu was well accepted by the group, so Yoru was a little embarrassed and happy, Asahi's idea was great! Yoru was happy with the composition of his team, there were only people he trusted and who were somehow sharp-minded.

Someone was approaching, Yoru started to listen carefully to what Shigure was informed, 2 shinobi one who seemed to be at the level of a chunin, was not that big of a threat to them, but the other, well he was at least jonin level, Yoru started to smile, the smile of someone who was thinking something, a smile full of ulterior motives, Yoru looks at Asahi and asks:

-Kami, why don't we go around and try to get to the facility from behind? We would arrive like guards checking the perimeter, what do you think?
