Hands shoved into her pockets Azarea paced back and forth on the porch of The Moyashi Inn. The pale haired, silver eyed woman having gradually become a bit of a staple of the Inn as close as it was to Konoha. The place originally meant as a stop over for Shinobi too tired or too injured to make it the last little legs to the gate. However now it served as an excellent meeting place for her and her partners for the various joint village operations.

Glancing down at the scroll in her hands Azarea frowned at the name listed alongside hers for the mission, one 'Hyuuga Shigure.' The name rang a bell in the back of her mind, but not a good one. Hyuuga were trouble after all. Even more trouble then the Uchiha had been what with his all seeing eyes. She'd just have to hope given she had the proper paperwork and proof that he wouldn't mention the low grade henge she wore. 'It's not like I changed my face,' She mused picking at a strand of long white hair as she squints silver eyes down at the color. Before glancing up to peer around the streets hoping to spot her partner, her Kumo headband proudly and openly on display where it was tied to her upper bicep.

MOYASHI INN Shigure had barely returned from his last mission and was already assigned another one, albeit a C-Rank one this time. "That's a good little break." he thought to himself, with a smile on his face. His latest missions had been rather high-ranking ones so this was a breath of fresh air. That didn't mean he was not going to take it seriously; the Hyuuga had remarkable work ethics and since this was another joint village mission, with one of their important allies, he was ready to give it his best. Still, he was rather curious to meet his teammate, especially because he was informed the girl was a Genin from the Cloud and an Aburame, which was more than unusual. The name didn't ring a bell at the time, not because he wasn't aware of what happened with the Aburame clan - as the heir of the Hyuuga, he was privy to this information - but because he just failed to connect the dots at the time. Their meeting point was the Moyashi Inn near the village, and he quickly made his way there, moving with an incredible speed. His Byakugan had been activated in order to search for his partner, and being a specialist in tracking, it wasn't hard to find the person with the Cloud headband tied to her arm. Still, one thing caught his attention. "Her chakra... Is that... Interesting." he said to himself, noticing she was using a transformation technique on herself. Being a Hyuuga helped him notice that, but the real reason why he so easily identified the technique was because of his job as an academy instructor. Teaching that technique over and over again gave him quite the familiarity with it. Not long after that he arrived at the place. His attire doing a great job at identifying him as a Leaf shinobi, flak jacket and all. His Byakugan - however - was now deactivated. Approaching the woman, he waved at her and gave her a large, and quite friendly smile. "Hello there. I assume you are Azarea-san." he said, his tone matching his smile, kind and very friendly, which was probably quite unusual for what someone would expect of a Hyuuga, especially the heir to the clan. "So what if it seems hopeless? If it were me, I still wouldn't give up. Embrace your dreams. And, whatever happens, protect your honour as a Shinobi, for the price of freedom is steep." The pale haired woman half turned as she was called out to plastering on the usual polite warm smile she utilized when dealing with dignitaries, irate shinobi with overdue paperwork, and outsiders. "Ah you must be my~" Azarea begins her tone friendly and upbeat until she suddenly lays eyes on the man who she is meant to be working with for the remainder of this mission and realizes exactly why the name had rung a bell. Her already fair skin going two shades paler in shock, fear briefly flashing across her face, before she carefully smooths away the expression. "Partner." She finishes her sentence managing at least to not allow her voice to tremble as her past comes back to bite her in the form of the clan heir of her own clan's closest allies. He's grown taller now, she notes in that distant placid hysteria that steals over her in the form of battle calm. When she'd last seen him he hadn't yet hit his growth spurt. All big white eyes and long brown hair. Pretty in that way all Hyuuga children where that made them look like porcelain dolls. Now they stand eye to eye and all she can think is that coming to Hi-Ni-Kuni was a terrible mistake. Maybe he didn't remember her. God she hoped he didn't remember her.

Frick. For all she knows her clan might have sent him to disappear her on this mission out to the middle of nowhere looking for birds of all things. Why the heck would the Hyuuga send out their clan heir to hunt for birds? A normal Hyuuga yes, but the clan heir? The thought is as laughable as her smile is a fragile. "I hope we can work together to see this mission succeed and further the relationship between our two villages." She murmurs realizing she would likely need to watch her back. Damnit. She should have set up a messaging system with the Raikage or Hayato. She really hopes her dark haired neighbor won't just let her plants die if the Hyuuga decides to shank her in the woods and say whatever was getting the birds got her too.

ODD FEELING The sudden hesitation on her tone was a bit odd, but he didn't think too much of it, but he didn't fail to notice her face growing a tad bit more pale, but he didn't quite understand why as he was quite friendly and open to meeting people. Maybe his informal greeting caught her off-guard of sorts? Well, in any case, he tried to compensate it by following up with a short, yet polite bow and a firm nod at the word 'Partner'. Upon looking closely at her, she did look oddly familiar, but again, he had been working a lot lately, so he didn't immediately remember the Aburame affair back in the day, so, for now at least, she was sort of unknown to him. Maybe if her hair was still red he would've remembered. Keeping the kind and friendly smile on his face, he nodded once again once she murmured to him, hoping for the continuous fostering of their village's relationship and the success of the mission. "Of that I have no doubt. There's nothing a Hyuuga and an Aburame can't accomplish together." his tone sounded quite confident, and yet, he couldn't brush away this eerie feeling of tension in the environment. "I wonder why..." he thought. "I assume you have been briefed on the mission, right? Well.. I'm quite the capable tracker. Once we approach the mountains, we can discuss how to approach the mission, but for now, I will take the lead. My eyes can see as far as four kilometres, so you don't have to worry about an ambush." he said, trying to give her some comfort. "Maybe she is just nervous with the mission..." he thought, and that was a reasonable assumption, which made him immediately think of something else. "Oh yeah..." his hand reached for his back pouch where he grabbed an Onigiri wrapped in some paper and he offered it to the girl. "Here, I made this one myself. You don't have to eat it now, but I can assure you it's crazy good!" Shigure said. "So what if it seems hopeless? If it were me, I still wouldn't give up. Embrace your dreams. The woman can't quite hide the flinch at the use of her clan name, "Please call me Azarea Hyuuga-san. Unrecognized members of the clan are not to utilize the clans name." She states voice low and soft not wanting her words to carrying though she finds her worse fears already confirmed her paranoia sparking as she takes the Onigiri with a polite if frigid smile. Carefully placing the rice ball into her pouch for later. Like hell was she going to eat it. She'd been poisoned once already after all and wasn't looking to go through such things a second time and while her Kikaichu's senses had improved there were still many poisons her bugs had no hope of detecting yet.

"Thank you for the food Hyuuga-san. I am fine with you taking the lead. I'll cover us from the rear and spread out my hive to see if they can pick up on anything odd in the environment when we get closer to the area." She offered quietly relieved she wouldn't have the man at her back as she nods towards the road ahead of him waiting for the Hyuuga to begin the journey before taking off at a decent clip to match his own behind the man. The sooner they got this mission done the sooner she could get out of the country after all. Maybe she'd take that next mission they'd been offering, the one patrolling the waters between Hi no Kuni and Kaminari no Kuni, as an excuse to make her way home. Well that is if she survived to make it home. Death would be really inconvenient.

"I take it that should we run into any hostiles you will handle the close to mid-range while I handle the long range?" Azarea inquires wanting to give away as little in regards to her own skills as possible. Better to be just considered yet another Aburame. Best to not let the clan know she'd spent some time honing her skills in genjutsu beyond the scant amount she could do when she'd departed from the village. Left to journey to and hopefully perish in some distant land.

MAYBE I KNOW YOU Shigure arched one of his brows when he heard her words, mentioning she was an unrecognized member of the clan and as such, didn't have the right to use the name. That ignited something in his deeper memories, and he started recalling the story about a disgraced heir to the Aburame clan. "No way..." still, he didn't want to mention that just yet, until he was sure he was remembering it correctly, so instead he just nodded. "I see. Then I insist you merely call me Shigure. Deal?" he said, giving her a warm smile and a playful wink. His suspicion was only further confirmed with her suspicious, yet polite attitude regarding his food offer, putting it away instead of eating it. "If she is indeed who I think she is, that behaviour is rather understandable." he thought, nodding when she mentioned how she would contribute to their safety during the journey. "I'm decently skilled with Fire Release, Wind Release and Fuinjutsu as well, but I will rely on your support for long range. My main specialty is indeed Taijutsu." he admitted and once that was said and done, he frowned his brows, prompting his Byakugan to activate. "Let's go." and with that, he darted towards their objective. The mountain they were headed to was about seven kilometres away, so Shigure couldn't yet see it, but at least there didn't seem to be any issues or threats around them for now. "So... Azarea-san, how do you like the Hidden Cloud Village? Do you already see it as your true home?" he asked, trying to break the ice a little bit while they continued their journey. Shigure was holding back on his speed so that the Aburame could easily follow him, so he was taking it at a more leisure pace, but one that would still require a Genin to push themselves to keep up. "Shigure-san then," Azarea murmurs testing the name on her tongue and finding it suitable. The woman softening just a touch now that the two were leaping through the trees and eating up ground. Her paranoia turning to wariness now that he'd given her his back, not that that was really saying much with a Hyuuga, but she appreciated the gesture. Despite her concerns in regards to her own well being the former Aburame couldn't deny that there was a reason the two clans were so close. Their skills not only complimentary, but their natures usually as well. Truthfully the Hyuuga clan had gifted her with some of her few good memories from her former village.

"In regards to my skills. I am capable of performing most standard Aburame techniques for scouting and combat and know a few genjutsu for taking out groups of opponents." She admits listing all the things that had been on her previous record. Nothing new. Nothing to jeopordize her, but enough for them both to work with one another. His question though takes her by surprise, the woman stumbling slightly, but managing to catch herself with a quick application of chakra.

"Kumogakure no Sato has always been my Home." She states firmly. Konoha might have once been her village, but it was a place she returned to. Not a place she longed for. "As for the village itself..." Azarea considers her next words with care, before deciding she doesn't give a damn if he considers her a clan traitor or not. He'll either turn and attack and the both of them can be done with this ruse or he'll be truer then she had expected. "There is not a village in this world I would rather be a part of more. It is not an easy place, but it is beautiful and the people are kind and determined." And for the first time since they've met the ex-Aburame's voice is filled with warmth as she speaks of her village. Her home.

"What about you Shigure-san? How do you like the Village Hidden in The Leaves?" She questions lips quirked into a slight smile. Apparently the woman has more of a sense of humor then she initially let on.

HOKAGE He could handle the '-san' honorific the girl insisted on using, it was already a significant improvement from what he was used on his everyday life at his clan's complex. Azarea was quick to brief him in some of her capabilities, confirming she was skilled with the clan Hijutsu and some genjutsu as well, which Shigure acknowledged with a nod. "Genjutsu, uh? Interesting. I should study it a bit more." he thought to himself, knowing that his more surface knowledge of the area was motivated by his duty as an academy instructor. As the conversation shifted to the village subject, the girl claimed that the Hidden Cloud had always been her home, which was not really what he expected to hear, but he didn't interrupt her. She seemed very attached to it, showing to be fond of not only the placed itself, but its people. "I have good friends from there, it is indeed a beautiful place full of nice people." he responded, thinking of his friend Daisuke, and some others he had the opportunity to work with in the past. The change in her tone made him feel more comfortable, seemed like she was finally relaxing in his presence. Then, once she was done, she asked him about the Hidden Leaf Village, which made his smile fade away a bit. The Hyuuga closed his eyes for a moment - not that it impaired his vision in any way, it was just habit - and sighed. "I love my village, but as I grow I've become more aware of its flaws. Some people do not embrace the Will of Fire, and there are a fair share of injustices that are allowed to take place in there. The village is too lenient with clan politics." with not only the Aburame issue, but also the apartheid within the Hyuuga clan, which was allowed to exist, he could no longer see the Leaf as a marvelous, utopic place. "But it's okay... I plan on fixing those things, from the clan, to the village. I had been thinking about this for a while, on how I can effectively change things... So I decided I will do my very best to become Hokage one day." and this was the very first time he was even saying this out loud. His voice carried a seriousness and a determination that seemed a bit alien to him, who was often one to carry a kind and friendly tone with his words. "So what if it seems hopeless? "Well it is not as if I can report you for such thoughts. I'm not a Konoha shinobi nor am I a recognized clan member." Azarea admits some of the tension bleeding off of her frame. She knows Shigure had been to the same clan meeting she had been too. Had seen the way 'outsiders' were treated and how while others often married into the clan once one joined a member never left unless to be married off to another clan for political gain. The fact she'd been allowed to walk away from the Aburame with her life was only due to the Hokage's mercy and while she was not recognized her name had not been entirely struck from the annals in case she ever came back or became useful enough to claim. The mere thought leaving the woman's lips curling in a sneer of distaste she can't quite hide.

"I prefer Kumo's structure. All Shinobi are Citizens first and foremost and clan members second. While the village does host a few clan compounds none are allowed to be isolationist and many members live outside the compound. Marrying in and out is very common and usually only those within three generations or who show kekkie genkai or clan techniques are officially recognized as members for census, but the clans still consider everyone connected to them a member of their extended families." She explains that same warm tone she'd used before coloring her words with a love she'd never felt for the village that had all, but abandoned her, but burned bright for the one who had offered her a home.

"Then again with the plague Kumogakure needed to be able to provide a united front in dealing with such issues and we also have a large influx of refuges and immigrants. Not as many as perhaps Ame, but non-clan shinobi are very common. It's my hope that with time as allies Konoha might consider some of Kumo's aspects in their village structure just as we often observe and learn from Konoha." Azarea muses feeling comfortable enough to allow her hive out. The little fluffy white and gold carapace Kikaichu flitting out of her jacket and moving through the trees with them. Making a little traveling observation net of insects around them.

But sometimes I wish he would involve himself with clan matters. I'm of the opinion that the village should be above the clan. Not surprisingly my father has many reservations about my position as his heir. He didn't even brand my sister, thinking he might need to replace me with her." he said, scoffing and shaking his head. He agreed with how things were done in the Hidden Cloud; clans were important of course, but that didn't give them free reign to do whatever they pleased with their members, and the young heir had already witnessed many injustices that lead to tragedy within the Hyuuga. The clan was in dire need for some changes. As they continued their conversation, they approached the mountain enough so that it was within Shigure's range. The young man narrowed his eyes, focusing on the mountain range itself, searching for any chakra signature that could indicate the presence of their targets, but he found none. Maybe they weren't shinobi, and were just working for people who had opposing interest to the villages. "I see the mountain, but no sign of our enemies. The mission scroll indicated they had been intercepting our birds, so I have an idea." he started as he leaped from tree branch to tree branch. "I can summon one of my Eagles, and have him act like a messenger bird. That might give us insight on how they detect the birds, and reveal their hiding place. I can see people scattered around this area, but I can't identify an obvious target." Shigure explained. They were still a good three or so kilometres from the mountains, but with the Byakugan, the area was very clear to the Hyuuga, who was at this point quite well-versed with the use of his doujutsu. "So what if it seems hopeless? If it were me, I still wouldn't give up. Embrace your dreams. And, whatever happens, protect your honour as a Shinobi, for the price of freedom is steep." "Of course not. I've heard many good things in regards to Konoha's latest Hokage and his efforts to improve the villages footing." Azarea assured him as after all casual complaints were one thing, but treasonous talk even if it's just in theory... she's all too well aware how quickly such words can be turned against the one who uttered them. A shadow of a frown passing over the woman's face as she releases her henge her hair bleeding from white to a rich vibrant red, and silver eyes turning a sharp distinct crimson. Scars Shigure wouldn't remember her having had before, now standing out starkly against the skin of her face as she turns to pierce the Hyuuga with a knowing, but sympathetic stare.

"I think you should be more wary of your Father and sister and quieter about your discontent," 'Or you could end up like me.' Remains unspoken as the woman turns her gaze skyward.

"Go ahead and summon your eagles. We can tie a dummy scroll onto their leg to make them look like a proper messenger bird on their way from Konoha to Suna. When someone takes a shot or attempts to attack them call out their location with your Byakugan and I'll move my bugs towards them and put a few on them for tracking in case they try to go to ground." Azarea requests mind set on the mission ahead as work calls and demands that they discard the pleasantness and foreboding of the current topic for the task at hand.

Still, he resented the fact that he denied him the chance of pursuing Shodaime when she escaped. Something inside of him was telling Shigure could've stopped her, but there was no use crying over the spilled milk. Shortly after that, the woman released her transformation technique, and the colour of her hair changed, as well as her eyes. Scars hidden by the technique were now visible, but it was the previous features that finally confirmed his suspicious. He gasped for a moment, pausing and turning around to face her. "I thought I did know you, but now I'm certain. I'm sorry I didn't catch on to that sooner, Azarea-san. It's so obvious now I feel a bit embarrassed." he admitted, shaking his head. Her sympathetic stare was followed by words of advice, and he chuckled lightly nodding to her. "I'm aware of that, but despite that, there's something I must do, and I believe that may not end well. Still... It's my duty as the future leader of the clan. But let's not focus on that now, we have this mission to take care of." he said, as he quickly burshed away the thoughts on his father and the Hyuuga clan. With the plan laid out, Shigure bit his thumb and waived the necessary hand seals, slamming his hand on the ground. "Kuchyose no Jutsu!" with a puff of smoke, a Golden Eagle appeared before them. The creature leaped and hoovered towards Shigure's arm, resting there, his head bobbing back and forth as he looked at the two of them. "Hey Shigure, what's going on? New friend?" the Eagle asked and the Hyuuga nodded. "Daisuke, this is Azarea, we are on a mission together. We need a favour from you." he explained and the Eagle pondered for a moment. "Sure, I will be happy to help. Hope it's something exciting." he said with a rather eager tone. "Indeed. I need you to pretend to be a messenger eagle. A few messenger birds have been intercepted in this area, and we need to find the people responsible. Since you can take care of yourself, I need your to play the bait, so we can find them, track them, and bring them to justice." the Hyuuga explained, and the Eagle ruffled its feathers. "I see. Well, I can do that. I need a scroll and a route." and Shigure nodded. "This is where I need you to go, following this path." he crouched as he started drawing the area on the ground, with the Eagle paying close attention. Once he finished, he turned to Azarea. "Promise me to be careful, okay?" and the bird chirped. "I will be fine." he reassured them. "So what if it seems hopeless? If it were me, I still wouldn't give up. Embrace your dreams. The Aburame, another one of the noble clans of the Hidden Leaf, also had a tricky relationship with its members, and even though he wasn't very knowledgeable of their inner works, as the heir of the Hyuuga clan, he knew enough to understand what happened back in the day. In any case, as Daisuke was instructed regarding what he was supposed to do, Azarea complimented the bird, who felt quite proud of himself, stuffing his chest and bobbing his head back and forth a bit, staring into her scarlet eyes. "She sees I'm impressive. I like her." Daisuke commented, to which Shigure chuckled and nodded. "Indeed you are, Daisuke. I know I can always count on you." the Hyuuga added, and the bird seemed more than pleased. As Daisuke departed, Shigure continued to observe the area around him with his Byakugan, and when a sudden Wind Release was sent his way, he gasped for a moment, feeling his body tensing up. "Come on, Daisuke!" he thought to himself. But the bird was no pushover either. Using his Quick Rotation, he managed to change directions mid-air just in time to avoid the attack, but at the same time, pretending to be hit. As he started falling down, Shigure sighed in relief and then looked at Azarea. "I have their location. Let's follow them. Hopefully they will lead us to their base of operations." he said, as he once again took the lead to guide the Aburame towards their enemies, making sure to keep a safe distance to avoid detection. "So what if it seems hopeless? If it were me, I still wouldn't give up. Embrace your dreams. And, whatever happens, protect your honour as a Shinobi, for the price of freedom is steep." Closing her eyes Azarea concentrated on her Kikaichu feeling as they spotted the jutsu user her face lighting up with a malicious grin, "Gotcha~" She sing songed and as the figure moved forward to where he thought the down bird was she had one of her insects drop off of a branch onto his clothing.

"Target's tagged. Now time to bag-em." Azarea quips sprinting after Shigure along the branches as they made their way towards Daisuke's position to hopefully get actual eyes, instead many faceted ones on the bird's attacker. The offending thief must have at least some basic training to pull off a jutsu though how much or how little was yet to be seen. A clever academy student after all could manage more then a handful of techniques with years to practice. After all 'hone a blade long enough and you'll cut the sky with it' was a saying she'd heard Riku use once or twice. The words having stuck with her. The two alighting in the branches near the clearing, Azarea ducking low among the leaves to remain hidden as the two observed where Daisuke had 'fallen' amidst the grass and was putting on a show of being hurt.

Their target in question approaching the edge of the clearing, large, male, and wearing a cloth mask as she made a low soothing clicking noise at the bird hoping to not get his fingers bit as he inched closer clearly intent on taking the scroll strapped to the bird's leg.
