The Daimyo has agreed to sponsor a new festival: Kanashimi-Matsuri, or a Grief Festival, intended to celebrate and memorialize those who were lost during the Great Plague. This is far from being a dour affair, however! With immense loss comes an equally fierce love of life, and this festival is an opportunity for the survivors of the Plague to enjoy everything their nation has to offer: living for those they’ve lost. The festival has been hosted in conjunction with the 1023 Akazaya Chuunin Exams. d-rank missions. RESPECT FOR THE DEAD MISSION RANK: D NPC REQUIREMENT: N/A PARTICIPANTS: 1-2 DESCRIPTION: The genin of Kumogakure, for their speed and efficiency, have been enlisted to assist in the efforts of cleaning the graves of those lost during the plague. Clean the gravestones, make note of any that are exhibiting signs of wear and tear, and report them to the local cemetery superintendent. This mission can be completed twice: once in Akazaya, and once in Kumogakure. Akazaya - Open Kumogakure - [ABURAME AZAREA] Complete x STALLING FOR TIME MISSION RANK: D NPC REQUIREMENT: N/A PARTICIPANTS: 1-3 DESCRIPTION: The riverside city of Akazaya will play host to the vast majority of the festivities. Festival stalls need erecting, shipments of foods and supplies and wares for sale need organizing, and rats and petty thieves need scaring off. If you work extra hard, the food merchants might let you have an early sample of their offerings! In progress/abandoned [?] x Open to be claimed by new participants c-rank missions. DO NOT GO GENTLE MISSION RANK: C NPC REQUIREMENT: Yes [Must play a Yanki Clan NPC] PARTICIPANTS: 1-2 DESCRIPTION: One of the major attractions of the festival will be a fighting ring set up by representatives of the Yanki clan, as a gesture towards their historically recent integration into the Hidden Village and an acknowledgement of their vivacious love of life itself. Help the Yanki clan set up their pop-up Thunderdome, and conduct a short fight in order to test the visuals and acoustics of the small arena. Open BLOOD OF THE DAMNED MISSION RANK: C NPC REQUIREMENT: Yes [Must play a Shitai Clan NPC] PARTICIPANTS: Aburame Azarea [Ren ] DESCRIPTION: The renowned medical ninja of the Shitai clan are, in a good-faith effort to bolster their reputation in the larger Kaminari no Kuni community, using the festival as an opportunity to conduct a blood drive for Lightning Country hospitals, and offering free vaccines and check-ups to any interested civilians or shinobi. However, the Shitai are notoriously reviled within the shinobi community, and many people are displeased with and suspicious of the medical stations they’ve been setting up in Moyama as part of the festival preparations; the tents have been vandalized and their equipment destroyed twice now! The clan has hired shinobi to investigate the vandalism and make it stop—however that needs to be done. Completed x b-rank missions. DAVY JONES' LOCKER MISSION RANK: B NPC REQUIREMENT: N/A PARTICIPANTS: [MINORI GIN] [HIRANA KIZUMI] DESCRIPTION: The last evening of the festival will involve a large number of small boats going out to sea, and there will be civilian sailors monitoring the waters and weather in the days leading up to the festival. The waters surrounding Kaminari no Kuni have been ever more dangerous in recent years, and the festival needs to go off without a hitch: this means eliminating the threat of pirates in the vicinity. The Raikage would prefer if this matter is handled with as little violence as possible, as the pirates out on the high seas may prove useful in the future. Completion of this mission, whether it is diplomatic or through bloodshed, will unlock a new mission board. How this mission is handled will impact the nature of the subsequent board. In progress x

Generally speaking any missions outside of the 'home' village (in this case Kumo) will be considered C-Rank+.

STALLING FOR TIME since it is outside of Kumo should be C-Rank with potential for non-shinobi ranked combat as a result.

I don't mind editing the missions to be C-rank, but just to double check: I thought that D-ranks just had to be within the home country, not the home village? C-rank mission guidelines says: "Generally, any mission that leaves a home country's borders are at least C rank," while D-rank doesn't specify that they have to be within the village itself.

Again, totally don't mind editing if I'm wrong here, just want to make sure I understand because if I'm wrong then I gotta re-assess a whole bunch of plans for D-ranks on mission boards :joy:
