"Whats that? What is that you have there?" Miho would lay upon her stomach as she watched her two children move about the yard. It was interesting to see the two move more and more on their own, though still young enough to require her attention far more than an adult. These were indeed the times she didn't want to miss, seeing her children grow into their own. It was just as amazing as when they were born, though dangerous as it was at the time. As little Kazui seemed to reach for her face, she'd pinch at her mother's nose before Miho gently took her hand and kissed it before seeing the infant giggle and babble. Meanwhile, Toshiro appeared to be waddling with what looked like grass in his hands, clenching it tightly between his fingers as he crawled toward her in his attempt to keep hold of his claim. "Whats that in your brother's hand? Do you see that?" Pulling herself upright so that she was sitting on her knees, she'd point toward the boy as Kazui would begin to turn her head, looking at her sibling before then progressively shifting her attention back toward reaching up for her mother. As Miho placed the girl on her lap, she'd smile at her as she let the child play with her fingertips, seeing Toshiro approach with the grass before then letting go of it as he struggled to try and catch it as it floated away. While he was ready to begin to tear up, Miho would reach down as she gently pulled out a single blade of green from beneath her, extending it out toward the boy as he began to laugh and babble in joy at seeing his prize again. There was sun, there was wind, and most importantly there were people. He couldn't see any of them but they were there and they were making noise. A beautiful village filled with nature was only right to be filled with equally great parks and like so many others the genin had decided to spend some time there today. Alas, he wasn't there to take in the sights or pal around with friends but instead try and improve his focus. Sat under the shadow of a sizable oak tree Mairsu's eyes were closed and his hands met at the fist in what one could call a meditative position the boy would do his best to focus his thoughts while not letting his immediate surroundings distract him.

He could hear kids running about the area having the times of their lives, while entire families enjoyed picnics and... babies? Were there babies? Older people were one thing to try and ignore but it was tough to drown out the cooing, gurgling, and infantile noises that came with young ones; it was akin to a particularly noisy bird in the forest that was liable to start squawking at any and every moment. No matter, it would just be another hurdle for Mairusu to climb in his quest to become a Sage.

Through his learnings the boy found that the foundation for any and all Sage related things was gathering natural chakra and that required uninterrupted meditation, so the boy had been spending quite a bit of time working on not letting the many sounds of the world break his concentration. He had spent time in the forests of Hi no Kuni and had gotten pretty decent at blocking out the birds, bees and other forest critters but even the loudest bird couldn't hold a candle to the boisterousness of people. If the genin could keep his cool around the multitude of voices then he figured it would be a whole lot easier to gather natural chakra while out on missions and stuff. Of course, he wasn't dumb enough to try and gather that stuff without either Mitsuda-san or Yaki nearby but getting the framework done pact would help wonders when it came time for the real deal.

Now he just had to try and drown out the sound of a baby who sounded like they were about to start crying...

Keeping the twins entertained and free to explore their world around them was partially successful due to her being patient and guiding them gently. She was their mother and honestly, a small part of her wished that she had such an experience with her own mother. But considering the woman's condition, it had not been possible. That was not something that she placed upon the woman, but it did givve her all the more reason to try and do the same and to hopefully prevent herself from making similar mistakes. Which was a fear for Miho in truth. She wanted to spend time with her children, and she desired to see them grow up and become the people they wanted to be. So as Toshiro finally began to settle down, with little Kazui following suit within her arms, the woman began to gently pick up the small boy, holding him close to her chest alongside his sister. From there, her eye gaze shifted as she began to sense someone was there or at least close. She couldn't make out whom, but some training died very hard and the area wasn't exactly the most secure in terms of animals and such. Though the signature was certainly larger than that. While she doubted the need for concern, her expression remained narrowed as she began her own personal scan of the area, her eyes looking around before noting what could be a figure in the brush. They appeared to be seated, though it was likely that they were doing something less admirable. In the end, the woman kept her children close, rising to her feet as she began to place them upon the blanket she had set out for them. "Hello?" Whatever the cause it sounded like the baby was finally starting to settle down which to most was good news but it was one less distraction that Mairusu couldn't work through. No matter, there were still a lot of people in the park today that presented plenty of practice opportunities so all was not lost... until a voiced called out to him. His eyes shot open because of the closeness of the call rather than the sound itself and it was then he realized that fidgeting around to try and find the best meditation lane had started shaking the shrubbery he was seated between.

Popping up from his seat the genin laid eyes on the woman who had called out to him, a slight glance to the side revealing not one but two kids laying on a blanket. They both looked so young it was hard to believe one was any older than the other. Twins maybe? Questions for later. "Oh hey um sorry, trying to get this meditation thing down and still working on the sitting still part." Mairusu would reply with a hand rubbing the back of his neck.

Chances were this was going to be the end of his training for the moment so he'd rustle through the shrubs to put himself in full view. Some days the boy wished he was just a regular genin and could go about things as everyone else did because he very much doubted that his friends and old classmates from the academy were doing the same weird shit that the Sage had him out here doing.

It may have simply been a instinct to expect the worst, but hope for the best, though in seeing the young face appear from the shubbery did little to provide as much comfort as she'd expect. Still, his demeanor and quick apologize had allowed for her to release her guard to relax as she rubbed the back of her head with a sheepish smile. It was an odd excuse that was for sure and Mairusu wasn't entirely sure if the woman believed him or not; the last thing he wanted was to be called out for being a creep or something like that. He wanted to avoid interruption which is why he chose to hide himself but didn't give too much forethought to the idea that it might have looked weird to any of the other park goers for someone to be seated in shrubbery, a mistake he would not make again.

"No no no you don't have to move, I should have picked a better spot. Don't worry about packing up because of me." The genin would reply hoping to prevent the mom from having to gather up all her stuff (and kids) because of him. "Weird as it sounds unique noises are more help than anything else." While the boy was nowhere near a master of meditation he had become at least a little accustomed to the "traditional" sounds of the world. Birds chirping, various forest critters critterin' and even background chatter didn't throw him off nearly as much as it used to, but it seemed he still had work to do to drown out the sound of infants.

Upon hearing the woman comment on needing to get back in the swing of meditation herself a soft sigh escaped the boy as it seemed that this would be a thing he'd be doing for the rest of his life if older people were still practicing. "Man I hope it get's easier one day, no one told me all this sage stuff required so much sitting still." Perhaps there was a way to circumvent having to sit still to gather natural chakra but no one had taught him yet and in all honesty it wasn't too surprising why with having to be a big, stationary target there weren't more Sages.

"Sage Stuff?" A calm expression rested on Miho's face as she looked toward the young man, allowing for a smile to cross over her lips as she then closed her eyes. Of course he was an apprentice. It made sense to want to find a place for peaceful reflection. Adjusting the twists as they rested in both of her arms, the duo seemed to be as interested in this conversation as was, though Kazui seemed more enticed by the strands of her mother's hair as she batted at them with a giggle. Konoha's foxiest redhead trotted over, flanked by fluffy little foxes the size of squirrels with properly sized ANBU masks to suit. One each came towards the little ones, sniffing delicately without touching them before getting permission, but close enough for chubby hands to reach out and pat fuzzy ears if they wanted to.

Miroru herself invited herself to plop down as well, heaving a sigh as she planted her chin in her palms, elbows on her knees. "Meditation is super hard to get into. It's all like "okay now you need to try really hard to not try anything at all. Even trying to not try is too much. So try really, REALLY hard. Like, what's that even mean?!" complained Miroru. "If it's so important, why isn't it easier to do?! Nobody figured out a better method or shortcut in... the last dozen generations or so?"

She kept her emphasis in tone, and not volume, so as not to upset the little ones, and leaned to one side, using her freed hand on the other side to waggle at Mairusu and Miho. "Long time, no see, everybody. Have you guys met the Bakenokawa before?"

"Just don't give up on me! We can figure this out!"

A slip of the tongue brought about by the unique nature of his training but surprisingly the woman was not confused by his words but seemed almost familiar with them. "Ah.. yeah, I am." Mairusu replied a bit confused. He had hardly come across anyone in his years who knew much --or anything-- about the sages outside of hearsay or passing them off as urban legends but this lady gave off a well informed aura.

Who was she?

The boy slowly nodded his head in confirmation when the woman asked if he was training under the Snake Sage, not that he was confused by the question but wondering if she knew that Mitsuda-san was now the acting Sage instead of Kasumi, and if she didn't know would it even be ok to tell her? Then again, there was always the possibility she may have been referring to some other sage that Mairusu wasn't aware about. There had already been one misunderstanding today, best not make it two. "Yes ma'am, Mitsuda-san has taken me on as an apprentice. If you don't mind me asking, how do you know so much about the sages?" The boy would ask before his attention was ripped away to the appearance of a few familiar faces.

"Miroru?" The two had not seen each other since that very one sided spar a while back and of course the girl had those damn foxes in tow, not as many this time but still. "I've actually been reading up on some different methods, but the foundation is still the same and it's hard to be at peace when your mind AND body are moving." The method in question was sage related so it wouldn't really help the girl in the long run but even aside from that Mairusu had watched Yaki demonstrate a form of meditation that didn't require sitting completely still so the options were out there.

Though it was likely that Miho had surprised the young shinobi in her knowledge of Sage related information, her time for explaining it was cut short upon the arrival of Miroru and her small brigade of foxes. As they appeared to be slightly interested in the twins, Miho would see the creatures hesitate briefly in their approach, though she'd gently set herself close to the ground as she adjusted the two small infants onto her lap, her smile remaining. "Its okay...they are used to being around wolves and snakes...I do not think you will frighten them..." With the two babes still close, she'd watch the creatures move further before seeing the two infants reach out gently, after seeing them inch closer and closer. This small interaction allowed for Miho to listen to the girl explain her own thoughts of meditation, leading to her laughing lightly before then shaking her head as the young man seemed familiar with the girl enough so that he explained his own logic of the subject. It was true that there were many different forms in which one could reach the same goal. It was on the individual. Her own progress in meditation had come from her learning to be still. Not simply lashing out. Though, she was also familiar with using forms in motion as another means to not only gather chakra, but also to find one's center in that moment as well. "Hello Miroru-chan..and I can only assume that these little ones are yours?" With the twins now playfully reaching out to pet the little foxes, Miho would turn her head to look back toward the snake apprentice as she held a small smile. "To answer your question...I have met both Kasumi-sama and Mitsuda-sama. Also...Yakitsukeru is my little sister..." Perhaps not by blood, but in a sense, much of Miho's closest family was not in any way related to her. That time was done long ago. It was sad, but Miho was indeed the last of her Clan, but she wasn't alone. She had family in the Akimichi Clan as her adopted parents and the people in her life that were well trusted. "Yup! What's going on, Mairusu-san, my man?" Miroru chirped happily, glad to see the other Genin doing well and making no secret of it. Granted, she was happy to see just about anyone doing well, but it tended to make folx feel nice all the same. She tuned in and literally fell to the ground with a groan as Mairusu went on. "You had to READ about MEDITATING? It's not bad enough actually having to do it? Man, I have to resist the urge to stomp off and find... ANYTHING else to do when Kazuto-sensei and Shigure-sensei tell me we're gonna be meditating. I know it's important to get in touch with, like-"

In touch with who, child?

"... you know, my inner peace and stuff, but. It's still hard and frustrating."

Hmph. Nice save for a toddler.

I am not a toddler. No more than you're a furball.

Miroru rolled over and watched the foxes and children finally make contact and play a bit, the foxes- fully mature despite their size- making a game of it, darting close and hopping back to entertain the children. "Yup! Or, well," she clarified for Miho. "The Skulk doesn't belong to me, I'm more adopted by them, really, but they're hanging out with me right now, cuz I summoned them, if that's what you mean!"

Miroru perked up to hear Yaki mentioned. "Yaki-chan?" She frowned faintly. "Wait. Isn't Mitsuda-sama the old grandpa Yaki talks about all the time?"

"Just don't give up on me! We can figure this out!"

The more the woman spoke the more questions popped into Mairusu's head. How had she come to know both Kasumi and Mitsuda? Unless... The train of thought was quickly derailed as Miho dropped the bombshell that she was Yaki's sister and the boy nearly passed out at the thought. "No.. there's two/i] of you?!" The genin exclaimed wearily. One Yaki was already more than he could handle and to learn that she had siblings was not something he was prepared to hear. "But you two don't even look alike, though I guess that doesn't mean much, but y'all definitely don't act alike." He had never seen such a stark contrast between siblings before in both appearance and personality; Even Shigure and Asuka favored each other a little.

Alas, hearing his own name be spoken back to him pretty much confirmed things as the boy wasn't anywhere near notable enough for random women in the village to know his whole name. "Yep, that's me. Nice to meet ya Mrs. Miho." Mairusu would reply. Still, even though Yaki may have been her sister it only answered a few of his questions and one it didn't was how she knew Kasumi. While the woman didn't venture into the village much there was always the possibility she and Miho could have ran into each other at some point but this felt deeper than happenstance. He and an orange haired chick whose name he couldn't recall were Kasumi's only students at the time when she was the acting sage so it couldn't have been that Yaki was also under her tutelage, right? Curious.

Well, that conundrum would have to wait until later as Miroru was not happy with hearing that she'd have to crack open a book to learn something, especially if it involved a subject she already didn't enjoy. "Not necessarily reading about how to meditate while you're staying still, but finding the balance to move around while someone or something is." Mairusu realized that his vagueness was probably only going to further confuse her and since the cat was already out of the bag about him being a sage apprentice he figured it wouldn't hurt to give more detail. "I guess specifically what I've been looking into is a way for my snakes to sit still and gather natural chakra for me while I can still move around. I think I understand it but I haven't actually tried it out yet cuz it's kinda gross, so until then I gotta practice the old fashioned way."

Mairusu would spare them the details of having to swallow a live snake whole and let it sit in his gullet for the technique to work, and in addition to how gross that sounded he actually couldn't summon any snakes yet which was a pretty important step.

It was clear that her explanation had been a bit much to take in. In truth, she could understand the sentiment with the clear differences between the two. Though for him to appear as if horrified by this revelations made her wonder just what the girl must be doing to him to make him this terrified? Holding up her hands, she'd keep her expression calm as she then did her best to ease him as she continued to monitor the twin's interaction with the foxes. "Perhaps further explanation is in order..." Though with two conversations happening, it was challenging to keep them all together as Miroru would seem shocked at the fact that there were indeed books that helped people to learn forms of mediation. Of course, this was confirmed by Hiesin as he stated his own findings. With Miho looking over toward her children, she'd then see Kazui attempting to fidget a bit, leading to her gently guiding her arms with her fingertips, nodding toward Miroru as she explained just where she had gained her following and how they were more so drawn to her in a sense. To which, she could see why. Though perhaps she could work upon her candor a bit when addressing a sage that was her senior. "I wouldn't exactly call him a grandpa...but yes..." But this returned her to the matter at hand, and Mairusu seemed to have some idea of what his goal was. Of course, he wanted to reach a point where the snakes themselves would gather chakra for him by remaining still. A challenge as most snakes would be active when sensing danger and often operated with that mindset. The only alternative she could imagine was one that she really hoped he hadn't tried. "You haven't been swallowing them have you?" Raising her brow, the young woman would blink for a moment as she then closed her eyes. "Honestly...I could never get behind that idea. Practically, I can understand the aid in allowing for a more confined space to give rise for some semblance of stillness, but I imagine the same process can be done also by gentle mesmerizing. Of course, that also depends upon the bond established between yourself and the nest. Sometimes, they are more than willing to assist as long as you..." "Hey hey hey! No helpin hands!" As a small voice seemed to yell out from Miho's pocket, the young female would then sigh as she closed her eyes. "Perhaps you would like to help him then Mimiki..." In saying this, a small black adder would slither out from the woman's pouch, it's head looking from beneath Miho's arm at Mairusu. "Wha?! Sure they do! Look closer!" Miroru protested when Mairusu exclaimed they looked nothing alike. "Long, dark hair; Yaki's eyes are redder, but they're both a little bit scarlet; Miho's got a better tan but she's outside with the little ones and working out more; they totally look alike, my guy!" She asserted. "Though... act alike..? Yeaaaaah, you hit that on the head. Opposites in every way!"

That she could think of, at least.

"Wait! Summons can gather chakra for you!? What the heck, guys, how come nobody told me abwait, you said natural chakra. You mean like. Sinjutsu? Sandjutsu? Sooooonjutsu?" She really wasn't that great of a student when things didn't hold her attention specifically.

"Man, that sounds super convenient, though. Gettin' chakra back just cuz you got... someone else... to give it to you. Yup, that sounds super neat and not at all like anything I'd know anything about. Too bad." That last bit was a little rushed, like she'd caught herself allllllmost discussing something she shouldn't on accident. "That totally sounds worth studying, though. Being able to supplement your chakra is already a pretty boss trick."

Indeed it is. A little respect and gratitude for my generosity would go a long way, child.

She tilted her head a bit at the mention of not calling him a grandpa. "But Yaki calls him old man all the time. I thought it'd be more polite to refer to him as Ojisan instead of "the old man,"" Miroru explained, shedding a little light on her reference- and also making it clear she didn't entirely realize Mitsuda WAS the Sage.

"... wait, what? Swallow? Why would someone swallow their friends? That just sounds ruAAAAAA!"

She cut off in shock as a voice came from Miho's butt! Wait- no, it was a little more to the side than that. The pouch! It- was a tiny snake summon!

Miroru didn't speak, but her wide eyes and her hands clasped in front of her face said it all. 'SO. CUTE.'

"Just don't give up on me! We can figure this out!"

TAKE ME TO VALHALLA WHERE MY BROTHERS WAIT FOR ME

Miroru must have never met the man to be so comfortable with calling him a grandpa and it was clear that Mrs. Miho was as averse to such a title for Mitsuda as Mairusu was, he couldn't even imagine what the man's reaction would've been in that situation but one thing was certain and it was that the genin didn't want to be within a hundred miles of Miroru if she ever called the Sage that to his face. Wild titling aside, the girl's comment about how Miho and Yaki actually did favor each other in certain areas made him do a double take and an audible "huh" could be heard as put a mental image of his fellow apprentice next to that of her sister.

"Senjutsu, and yes I think it's possible. Something about complete harmony with your sage partner and the such. Like I said I haven't tried it yet but I guess it's possible." Mairusu would reply. While he had purposely left out the specifics of the technique he had been researching Miho's uncanny knowledge of the sage arts led her to fill in the blanks perfectly causing the genin to go wide eyed as if he had been caught red handed. "No no no, I haven't tried it but um if I ever do try to learn the jutsu I guess I'll have to. Just thinking about it makes me queazy so I honestly don't know if I ever will." Damage control. How weird would it be for everyone to know he ate live snakes? There was no way the boy could ever show his face in the village again.

Speaking of covering tracks, Mairusu could have sworn that Miroru was trying a little too hard to back track about something and a quick glance to the two small foxes who were currently entertaining the infants made him wonder if maybe she had come across something like they had been talking about but wasn't trying to spill the beans. However, before he could question the girl about it another voice would chime in and as if this day wasn't already full of surprises it belonged to a snake who had apparently been hanging out in Miho's pocket.

It was a tiny thing but was definitely speaking and it also had a name: Mimiki. Well it wasn't the weirdest thing he had ever seen but what was odd was the fact that it had stopped Miho right before she was about to give him some advice. "You carry around a snake in your pocket? Maybe you really are Yaki's sister..." Dots were connecting what with Miho knowing both Kasumi and Mitsuda, being kin to Yaki and having knowledge of certain sage practices, but there was so much going on that Mairusu hadn't quite put everything together yet.
