Being assigned to a genin team was certainly something Masato was unsure about doing as he certainly didn't have much of a teaching bone in his body, but he was willing to tackle the challenge as needed. First thing first was he needed to meet his new students and get to know them on a personal level and to do that he needed individual one-on-one lessons with them. So the first one he reached out to was a boy by the name of Takehara Oriko from his file he was a genjutsu and medical user certainly not techniques he was the most well-versed in being more of a ninjutsu user himself, but he was certain he could still help the young boy out.[break][break]

So he would send an invitation for a private lesson in a training yard near the Maboroshi compound later in the day. A short notice note but it was a test to see how attentive they would be to their mail and see if they would be adamant about learning. After all a good shinobi was one who when getting word of a mission was on the move as soon as it arrived. So it was a small test of course, but he was certain the young boy would be able to pass this simple exercise.

Oriko arrives quickly to the training yard, his eyes darting to and fro as he searches for this somewhat legendary shinobi that had been made his sensei. Granted, he'd never had to perform any medical work on this Masato person, but that was likely a good sign of his defensive capabilities, something that would be very helpful when one has to deal with low-ranking Genin who may have to work in the field. Oriko himself looks rather frail, considering his very short size and the fact that most of his body is covered in a biotech skin-tight suit, including a set of plastic-like plates over his chest. The gold irises of his eyes and the bright blue of his hair were likely the most striking features, as the lower half of his face was covered in a gas mask, though it was without anything more than its built-in filter that did no more than close off his mouth from drinking in water or sucking in insects, and his ears were covered in a headset linked into his wireless radio.

Despite his short body, he had quite a few bags on his person, including a weapon pouch and a medic bag on each side of his waist, although he also had his waist sash that included a scabbard, although the sheathe was short enough that it might not likely be his main method of combat.

Finally, he sees a man that looks old enough to be his sensei, and he moves quite quickly towards the blue-haired shinobi. Though their difference in height wasn't particularly great, Oriko certainly had a youthful appearance; the medics told him that he would likely always remain rather young-looking, as the burns that covered most of his body had stunted his growth. When he speaks, his words are filtered through the gas mask, causing it to buzz slightly whenever he breathes in, as well as making his voice sound rather more robotic, though his eyes were clearly human.

"Skrrrk. I take it you're the one called 'Maboroshi Masato'? Skrrrk. I'm Takehara Oriko, your newest student. Skrk... What will we be learning today?"

Masato would have to wait too long for his first student would appear his bright blue hair and golden eyes were as striking as the report on the boy he was given said. It was kind of an eyesore if Masato was honest and unbefitting for a shinobi, but that wasn't the point of this lesson so it wasn't something he was gonna bring up. No today was going to be a specialized lesson for this boy to improve upon and if the report he was given was accurate he was certain the child would at least enjoy the lesson Masato had prepared for him.[break][break]

"Good morning Takehira-kun," Masato would say flately his face giving a rather plain and emotionless expression to it. His features despite being sharp often made him seem cold, especially with how he spoke so he may not have come off friendly with his words. "To put things simply the information I have been given on your abilities points to you being skilled in genjutsu," Masato would start off the conversation figuring it was best to get this training exercise started quickly. [break][break]

"So we are going to expand on this specialization, but teaching you some techniques to improve upon your genjutsu skill set," Masato would begin pacing around Oriko almost examining him from head to toe. "One of the most important things for someone who uses genjutsu is keeping their opponent in their trance to keep an advantage over them, as such I want you to be able to surprise them with multiple genjutsu. This can be done in two ways by layering the genjutsu or by lingering it." Once he made a full circle around Oriko he would stop and look at the boy with a rather stern look.[break][break]

"Today, in particular, I shall teach you how to cause a genjutsu to linger," Masato would say sharply as he continued, "This is done by placing two genjutsu on the opponent, but not before the first genjutsu is already activated on their opponent. Once they are ensnared one can place a second genjutsu on them that will hide in waiting for the first one to be displaced or removed before activating itself on the target." After these words, Masato would turn away and begin walking a short distance away before adding, "This requires immense chakra control, but from what I have gathered you should be able to do such a thing. While I much prefer doing things in a theoretical approach I know my methods aren't to people's strong points as such we shall take a practical exercise to this training." Taking a stance to defend against any genjutsu the child would cast Masato would give a glare before saying, "You shall be placing me under any genjutsu of your choice as I'm certain I can break out of anything you have in your arsenal so show me what you got." While it didn't show on his face Masato was very interested to see just what he was working with in Oriko's abilities.

Oriko frowns a little when he's called by his last name, and mispronounced as well. Still, he barely shows a very vigorous response and doesn't offer a correction. After all, being that the Takehara didn't even have any Hiden techniques of their own, it wasn't like the clan had much of a serious brand beyond their natural intellect. At the very least, this new teacher seems aware of what he can do as far as his specialization is concerned. Granted, he'd mostly used Genjutsu to avoid fights for the most part, and occasionally to quiet patients or knock them out over time for them to receive necessary surgery or for a painful procedure. He'd been told he was a natural at it, and he somewhat blamed his capability with Genjutsu for him being told that he had to go and join a Genin team instead of staying part of the medical corps.

He allows the older man to circle around him, although he had to admit that it made him a bit uncomfortable for him to look him over like a test subject. Oriko wonders for a moment if his patients had ever felt like this when he was running his eyes over them, and his yellow irises turn to gaze up at Masato as he explains the concept of making Genjutsu linger, but it's clear that despite his intellect, he's not really understanding the process. Not that one could blame Oriko all that much; most of his knowledge up to this point had been reserved for medical training and knowledge, as he'd been focused so intently on following in his father's own footsteps. For now, he had very little idea about how one would even be able to make two Genjutsu at once, but he figures the best way to start is to at least try first. He also decides to start with a couple of D-rank Genjutsu. At least this way, even if he fails completely, he won't be using up too much chakra and will be able to practice far more than if he tries with more complex and more draining Genjutsu.

He looks directly at Masato, forming hand seals, though he doesn't need them to perform this particular Genjutsu, one that was only really meant to obscure oneself through an illusion of fog. It was aptly named-

"Skrrrk. Continuous Fog Technique!"

Fog seems to rise from the waters around them, and for anyone who'd heard him call out the name of the jutsu, it would appear to become thicker and thicker, obscuring his form from direct view. This would, of course, make any Genjutsu that required sight for its activation much more difficult, but Oriko didn't really need it for the other Genjutsu he was attempting to use...

"Ugh. Skrk... Well, I hate to waste any of my explosives..."

Despite his focus on trying to maintain the fog technique in addition to using his next one, he winces as the fog clearly disappears from Masato's view, though now he might see an explosive note appearing occasionally in his peripheral view instead.

"Damn..."

NAME: Keizokuteki Enmu no Jutsu [Continuous Fog Technique]
RANK: D
CHAKRA USAGE: To Use: Low | To Maintain: Very Low
CLASSIFICATION: Genjutsu
ELEMENT: -
HANDSEALS: 0
TRIGGER: Auditory
DESCRIPTION:
Developed as a genjutsu version of the hidden mist technique it allows for the same effects as the ninjutsu version with much less chakra utilized. The target seeing a thick fog or mist rising up to obscure their vision and even their hearing. Less experienced users of genjutsu usually leave it at this, but more experienced practitioners will add in the proper smells and even the damp feel of the fog to the target(s) senses. The technique is triggered by the user saying the techniques name; although they'll often render a handseal or two as well to make the target(s) believe it is actually a ninjutsu.

NAME: Hōmatsu Jokei [Ephemeral Sight]
RANK: D
CHAKRA USAGE: To Use: Very Low | To Maintain: Very Low
CLASSIFICATION: Genjutsu
ELEMENT: -
HANDSEALS: 0
TRIGGER: Auditory
DESCRIPTION:
Hōmatsu Jokei is an extremely simple Genjutsu that affects perception. Hōmatsu Jōkei Upon hearing the words "explosive" the target will begin to randomly begin noticing the traditional explosive tag in various places around their peripheral vision. The moment they focus on that spot, it is gone. This is only an applicable technique for those with ground around them for a feasible tag to be placed on, meaning those in the air will be free from the technique's torment. The point of the Genjutsu is to put the target in a sense of paranoia, and to focus on possible danger rather than the actual danger.

He expected as much would happen. Genjutsu much like medical jutsu was very precise and at times fragile in how they interacted with other jutsu so the fact the two illusions decided not to work as intended was expected. The first illusion came on just fine making it very difficult to see as a dense fog would appear obscuring Masato's vision, but it wouldn't last long as when Oriko gave the trigger for the next genjutsu the two didn't interact correctly. This would cause the fog to dissipate and instead be replaced by what one could describe as explosive notes appearing in the corners of Masato's eyes. "Kai!" Masato would say dispelling the genjutsu quite easily. [break][break]

"Not a bad first try," Masato would say lowering his hand before adding, "so don't be discouraged about not getting it right on the first try." Looking at the boy Masato could feel the frustration emitting from him or at least that's what he saw he could have been totally off base on that. In an attempt to try and cheer Oriko up, he also began speaking from a theoretical standpoint on the whole lingering and layered genjutsu concepts. [break][break]

"I find the two, layered and lingering, named incorrectly as layered is more of a weaving of genjutsu skills together to cover multiple senses while lingering feels more like a blanket covering the body," Masato would say letting Oriko time to recoup from his first attempt at the technique. "Might be best to try and visualize it as a blanket or even think about it as guerilla warfare if you know anything about fighting tactics," Masato would add to give more insight, "pouncing in and out of the brush waiting for the opponent to release their first jutsu to put another on them and keep them subdued."

Unfortunately, Oriko knows very little about fighting tactics, but blankets are something he's much more familiar with. Covering the body with one blanket might only get half of it covered, but using two can completely cover somebody where one blanket only covers part of them. That said, the guerilla warfare description does still make sense to the medic ninja. But he seems to be having a bit of a different struggle when it comes to using this type of skill, especially since he's rarely used Genjutsu in combat, and certainly has never tried using multiple at the same time. He does his best to explain it, failing to find the right words for a few moments in his frustration, then thinking silently for a moment before he finally comes to a description he can use.

"It's... Skrk. It's more like... Skrk. Ah. Skrrrrk. It's not so much the difficulty in understanding the concept. Er, rather, I did have some trouble understanding it, but the real problem I'm having at the moment is... Skrk. It's like trying to pat myself on the head and rub my stomach at the same time."

Oriko tries to demonstrate, fails by having both hands engage in the rotating movement of his left hand rubbing his belly, then, with more focus, somewhat haltingly making one hand pat his head and the other circle his tummy. Gradually, it becomes easier, but he stops before it gets to that point; it had only been a demonstration, anyway.

"It's like that. Skrrk. Trying to get my brain to concentrate on doing two very different things at the same time is a bit... odd. Skrrrk. So that's what I'm struggling with for now, but I think, like with the patting the head and rubbing the stomach trick, I just have to keep trying and my brain will learn to focus on doing both at once..."

He hopes his explanation makes sense, but he's not entirely certain it does. He's never been very good at explaining his meanings, but he looks up at the older man with hopeful eyes, willing him to understand his confusion.

His point of description made a whole lot of sense and while not as eloquent as some tomes or scrolls would have put it if that's how Oriko understood it that's all that mattered. Finding how things worked within your limits was a very sound way of learning and while it wasn't the way Masato himself learned if it helped Oriko he was willing to go along with the notion. [break][break]

"Very well said," Masato would say trying to give Oriko a sense of pride in his way of thinking, "Yes looking at using the two genjutsu in conjunction with each other as two separate movements is a way of looking at it." He would give Oriko and small clap in approval as he continued, "You can even use movement devices to help you understand how to go about this. Like using a mnemonic device to get a feel of how to use both jutsu. Like if a genjutsu requires you to whistle one could focus their eyes towards their nose like a focal point while if another requires you to form a hand seal you could scrunch your toes up to try and create a rhythm of how the two work together. It might not be the most effective right away, but it could help with the focusing aspect of it then once you can do the two together you can slowly learn to drop the habits that lead to it." His possible explanation might have been a bit winded in explanation, but that was mostly because of how excited Masato was becoming with how Oirko was going about learning the technique.

Oriko at least feels somewhat proud of himself for having discovered at least one of his road blocks in learning to use two Genjutsu in a nearly simultaneous fashion. While he can easily enough parse Masato's statements about using mnemonic devices in order to use body motions to better learn how to function two Genjutsu together, the idea is somewhat lost on him. It sounds a bit like a solution to a problem Oriko hasn't actually put forward, but he decides that his teacher is likely to better understand the issues he's facing than he himself is; Masato has the experience above Oriko's own understanding of the style of this particular art, after all. He though the could also sense a bit of excitement in Masato's explanation, perhaps glad that the training is at least seeing some progress. Oriko himself is feeling a bit more excited at the idea of using two Genjutsu as well.

He thinks through the Genjutsu he knows of already, wondering if there are any other combinations that might work well enough together. Perhaps the Continuous Fog technique combined with the Drowning Descent technique? That way, the other person wouldn't be able to really see him perform the handseals, which could make it more difficult for them to be tipped off to what he's doing. That could be far more effective in ensuring that someone doesn't realize they're trapped in a Genjutsu and not simply experiencing a real terror of being dragged underwater to drown. Masato hasn't started that he's ready to continue the lesson, though, so he holds off on trying this particular experiment, but one can tell from looking at his golden yellow eyes that his gears are turning in his mind, thinking up more convoluted combinations for Genjutsu, although he's also thinking of ways he might be able to use his medical training as well. That's something for another time, though.

While his new student didn't say much Masato could tell something was itching in the young boy's mind. What it could be Masato wouldn't know though he could hazard a guess. He could be thinking of unique ways to use his genjutsu together to get them to stick correctly or even figuring out his own mnemonic learning devices that worked for him. Whatever was behind those golden eyes though Masato was very excited and curious to see what the other boy could come up with. So he waited to see what the young boy would do.[break][break]

A bit of silence would go on before the two with nothing happening and honestly this confused Masato, but then he realized he never gave the boy a signal to just try the genjutsu. "Silly me," Masato would say shaking his head before adding, "You are more than welcome to use genjutsu whenever you want on me." Pushing a loose strand of hair behind his ear he would continue, "Don't wait on poor little me. After all this training is for your benefit and not for my safety." Masato would give Oriko a wink as a way of saying he didn't need to worry about his mentor getting injured or hurt as it was par for the course when training young shinobi.

Oriko is relieved when Masato explains that he should feel welcome to use Genjutsu on his teacher whenever he wants, having felt quite awkward with the silence stretching between them as it had. He's still somewhat struggling mentally with wondering how he's going to be able to learn to use more than one Genjutsu at a time, but he thinks he has a basic idea of how it might work for him, although he's not sure a mnemonic will really help. It seems like that would be more of a tool for one that has already learned and needs a memory tool to help remember how to do it.

The golden-eyed boy blinks when he's winked at by the older man, and then focuses intently on two things at once, still using two fairly low level Genjutsu techniques in order to ensure that he doesn't overly strain himself on this complex level of Genjutsu training. It seems highly technical, but he separates the two things he's trying to do, focusing on the overall effect he wants to achieve, rather than focusing on using one Genjutsu twice.

"Skrrk. Continuous Fog Technique!"

He doesn't bother utilizing handseals; it's hard enough trying to use two Genjutsu at the same time that he doesn't really want to further complicate his work by adding in unnecessary fake handseals, although perhaps when he becomes much more effective, he'll use them to make the technique more believable. After the Genjutsu starts forming fog in the area, turning the air seemingly impossibly thick with water vapor, so much so that visibility drops to zero, just like the real kind of technique, he pulls down the rebreather over his mouth, allowing him a greater range of vocalization so he can let out a noise like a fox's yipping noise, activating the second Genjutsu, this one meant to cause an opponent to walk around in circles without realizing it.

The combination of the two Genjutsu over one another should result in an extremely confusing scenario, causing anyone trapped in both to become significantly more lost, and far easier to lead them into traps; with the fog Genjutsu limiting their visibility, it becomes even easier to lead them around with the Sly Mind Affect Technique, since they lose out on visual landmarks that they might try to use to get around in the area of the Sly Mind Affect Technique. It was a bit draining, but Oriko focused on simply keeping both techniques active with a similar and even extension of his chakra and his will.

NAME: Kori Shinchū no Jutsu - [Sly Mind Affect Technique]
RANK: C
CHAKRA USAGE: Low [Very Low Continuous]
CLASSIFICATION: Genjutsu
ELEMENT: N/A
TRIGGER: Fox Yip (Sound)
DESCRIPTION:
A shinobi using this technique will typically keep themselves concealed from a group of enemies and let out a high pitched yelp similar to that of a fox. This auditory signal triggers the technique and allows for a single shinobi to keep potentially dozens of enemy combatants preoccupied. By allowing the user to change the enemies sense of direction through recreating the terrain they are seeing, the user will typically replace pathways that lead back to where they came from with illusions of paths that progress them forward. While most commonly used to prevent target's from progressing towards their destination it could also be used to hinder the escape of targets. The one main downside to the technique is that only the terrain can be changed with the illusion, meaning that non terrain objects like corpses typically can't be hidden.

He honestly wasn't sure what kind of genjutsu Oriko was going to unleash upon himself, but he knew he could probably handle just about anything the boy could throw his way. Well at least from a mental standpoint any form of actual physical ninjutsu or genjutsu might be a bit more annoying for Masato to deal with, but either way, he would do his best to help his student progress in his training in whatever way he could. Especially since Genjutsu wasn't his strong suit anyway.[break][break]

The technique the boy would start with was the fog technique again which Masato figured would come. It was a simple technique that didn't cost too much so it was a good choice to practice with, especially for lingering together with another jutsu. Still repeating a genjutsu wasn't the best scenario in a real combat situation and as he was being blinded by the fog he would say aloud, "Remember reusing techniques within the same battle won't always yield positive results." This was simply said as an additive to their lesson and not as diminishing the boy's efforts for this training exercise.[break][break]

Now when the second technique came into play it was with the use of some fox yipes. This confused Masato at first, but he kept his wits about himself as he stood still trying to figure out how the jutsu worked out, yet he didn't see much going on. What he did feel though was a sensation of feeling lost in the thick fog despite not moving. It made him a bit dizzy like his body wanted to move while remaining stationary, and honestly, this might have been an effect of the genjutsu not working together correctly. [break][break]

To stop himself from feeling woozy Masato would kai out of the genjutsu and say, "Not exactly, but almost there." He would shake his head trying to realign his equilibrium from the dizziness he felt from the genjutsu not working correctly how the boy wanted. "The two jutsu used could easily work well together, but in this situation, they might not have the desired effect. Since we want the second jutsu to come into play when the opponent kais out of it this combination would be better if you were training how to layer your genjutsu. So we should keep that in mind for future training." Clearing his thought he would add, "Despite this, it feels like you are on the right track to understanding this technique from a basic standpoint so let's give it another go." Masato gave Oriko a proud smile confident the boy would get this training down in no time.

Oriko is only a bit annoyed at being called out for reusing techniques, but he only knows a few of them anyway, and not all of them would really work well for this training, he knows. But then Masato was a higher rank than he was, as well as his sensei, and those little social hierarchies are just a couple of many that Oriko is very aware of. He keeps his own thoughts and frustrations with this training to himself, and just tries to focus on what he's supposed to be doing when the Jounin cancels himself out of the illusion technique, and Oriko immediately breaks the chakra connection so that his sensei doesn't have to expend any additional chakra in order to Kai out on his own. After all, there was no reason to act as though this was like a real combat scenario.

He frowns, though, when Masato points out that the two Genjutsu work just a little too well together, at the same time, and what he's really trying to do is cause one Genjutsu to work fully, with the second only activating in response to the first Genjutsu being broken. Oriko visibly chews on that information for a moment before he realizes he's been thinking about it all wrong the whole time. It was like two Genjutsu working in synchronicity at all, but rather more like having one glass sphere inside another, and allowing the inner one to break while still keeping the person trapped inside the second glass sphere. Because he'd just figured out a better understanding of what he was trying to do, he feels elated enough to take up Masato's offer of giving it another go, and he gives the other blue-haired shinobi a nod before bringing his hands back up to start forming handseals.

He creates the three he needs, then focuses on Masato to send out his chakra to the higher ranking shinobi, re-establishing the chakra connection to try and put Masato under a Genjutsu.

"Skrk. You should prepare to sink."

This word he emphasizes should put his own sensei under a Genjutsu to make him believe he's being dragged under the water, but he then prepares for a second and then extends his right hand out, like he's choking his sensei despite the distance between the two of them. Drowning and choking might be similar sensations, but he's certainly aware of the difference, and that Masato will be capable of breaking out of the first Genjutsu, only to be caught by the second as soon as the Kai is used.

NAME: Magen: Dekishi Kakō [Demonic Illusion: Drowning Descent]
RANK: C
CHAKRA USAGE: To Use: Low | To Maintain: Low
CLASSIFICATION: Genjutsu
ELEMENT: -
HANDSEALS: 3
TRIGGER: Auditory
DESCRIPTION:
After several handseals the user will say the word "sink" which triggers the Genjutsu. Anyone within earshot of the jutsu will be ensnared within the Genjutsu. The target will see chains that appear from underground and wrapping them completely so they are unable to move. The target will then start sinking below water causing them to feel as if they are drowning. The Genjutsu becomes more real if the target is already standing on a source of water to be submerged in, though an experienced user can simulate the feeling to make the feeling all the more real. While trapped, the victim is left completely open for a finishing blow.

NAME: Kōsatsu Haaku [Strangling Grasp]
RANK: C
CHAKRA USAGE: To Use: Low | To Maintain: Very Low
CLASSIFICATION: Genjutsu
ELEMENT: -
HANDSEALS: 0
TRIGGER: Visual
DESCRIPTION:
Triggered by the target(s) seeing the user raise their hand as if to choke, the target(s) will immediately feel as if a hand is around their throat. They'll find it extremely difficult to draw breath due to the illusion, while in reality they will be perfectly capable of breathing fine. This is primarily used as a scare effect. Furthermore, while it doesn't always happen, at times the target(s) are so panicked that in trying to grasp at the seemingly invisible hands they could potentially injure their selves in truth.

He remained quiet despite his slight taunt which was a bit sad, but Masato figured there was some slight psychological damage done to the boy's psyche either way. This was mainly done to help push the boy further as honestly, Masato was certain they would be able to master this skill fairly quickly. The boy had talent and Masato wanted to nurture it as much as he possibly could despite not having the same talent for the skill. What he had done so far in their short training was more than enough to pass a test in the academy in his mind so he could only imagine how fast and quickly he would grow as a shinobi. It made him feel a bit proud to be his sensei for the time being.[break][break]

The next set of techniques was certainly a lot more violent and detaining than the last ones he used. Great combat genjutsu for one-on-one fights and would prove handy for any exams the boy would undergo. Felt the chains, that didn't exist, begin pulling him down in the abyss below. Letting the jutsu take hold he watched the other boy and found himself submerged in the water below finding it hard to breathe. His vision was still fairly clear he could see Oriko raise their hand as if attempting to choke the air in front of him casting another genjutsu to attempt to bring Masato under its influence after kaing out of the current one. Taking that as a cue he weaved the hand signs to Kai out of the first genjutsu and he found himself back above the surface no longer being dragged back down.[break][break]

Now though he would find himself in a new genjutsu though. This one gave the illusion that Oriko was crushing his windpipe choking the life out of him. Masato's eyes would begin to water as if he was choking from the genjutsu, but his mind was still keeping it together for the most part. Kaing out of the second jutsu he found himself falling to the ground gasping for breath despite not choking. "Much better," he would say through gasped breaths from the psychological ordeal. "We should try this a few more times in different combinations to make sure you have a full grasp on the technique, but I think you have a good understanding of how it works now." Getting back up and pushing his hair back to regain composure he would ready himself again and say, "Go again!" This would be a rough training exercise for Masato's mental and physical health, but it would prove so beneficial to Oriko that he was willing to take the risk.

Oriko was actually becoming quite tired from the mental strain on himself using Genjutsu so much, though he's aware that it's likely having a similar effect on his own sensei having to pull himself out of Genjutsu again and again. Regardless of this heavy work for both of them, he's a bit surprised when his sensei orders him to go for it again, even though he seemed to be getting even better from using stacked Genjutsu. This time, he chooses two newer Genjutsu than the ones he'd been using so far. Though this might be the last time he uses these techniques, thanks to the fact that they were rather more demanding Genjutsu in terms of chakra.

The first technique requires that he make a handseal in order to trap his sensei, so he does so, bringing both hands together in order to activate the illusion, setting the sky and the area around them to total darkness, or at least that's what it seems like. In actuality, Masato would not be blinded and is actually fully capable of seeing, but it would seem as though it was now the darkest night, with no moon and an overcast sky to make it completely dark around them. Immediately afterwards, he focuses further and pulls the front of his mask down while Masato would be stuck in the initial Genjutsu so that he can trigger the next: Oriko purses his lips and starts a whistle from a low note to a higher and higher pitch, increasing in volume and frequency. For Masato, the sound would seem to continue to climb in both, a noise that could have made someone deaf or ruptured eardrums. In reality, Oriko quickly replaces the gas mask over the bottom half of his face, once more hiding his scarred face before Masato can break out of the first Genjutsu. This combination, he's sure, would be quite debilitating for most shinobi, though Oriko himself was rapidly getting tired out.

NAME: Kyōsei Naito [Forced Night]
RANK: B
CHAKRA USAGE: To Use: Medium | To Maintain: Low
CLASSIFICATION: Genjutsu
ELEMENT: -
HANDSEALS: 1
TRIGGER: Visual
DESCRIPTION:
Triggered upon the target(s) seeing the user render a handseal, the technique causes night with a new (or rather lacking a) moon taking place as the new setting. While not immediately apparent, this genjutsu is fairly useful in the regard that it makes it more difficult for the target(s) to monitor/track the user & it also makes it easier for the user to trap the target(s) in additional genjutsu that rely on handseals as triggers; as in reality the target(s) can still see the user just fine, but are shown the illusion instead.

NAME: Itai Kanetsuki no Jutsu [Painful Ringing Technique]
RANK: C
CHAKRA USAGE: To Use: Low | To Maintain: Very Low
CLASSIFICATION: Genjutsu
ELEMENT: -
HANDSEALS: 0
TRIGGER: Auditory
DESCRIPTION:
A technique that serves as a wonderful distraction or crippling attack. This technique causes the target to hear a high pitched tone in their ear, it being so painful that most targets claw at their ears. The technique is initiated through the audio cue of a whistle going from low to high. Due to this, many individuals have mistaken this technique for sound ninjutsu.

It would go without saying that taking genjutsu on genjutsu so willingly was difficult for one's physical and mental health, but Masato knew the risks involved especially if it meant training his new ward as much as possible. So in his mind, the risk didn't outweigh the reward, and was willing to fight to help improve the young man's abilities. Sweat became a bit more apparent on his forehead as he continued to fight against these constant genjutsu assaults, but he remained level-headed as best as he could. [break][break]

So when the next assault came engulfing the world in darkness as if it was night already. For a half second, due to the previous attacks of genjutsu on his psyche, he thought it had gotten quite late already in their training, but he quickly recovered remembering that they were in genjutsu training. Surely this was a genjutsu he was under as he couldn't remember it becoming dusk yet. So he would weave the hand seal again for Kai to release himself from the darkness only to find himself being assaulted by another genjutsu. While the nighttime sky removed itself from his mind he was now placed under a technique that caused a painful ringing noise to assault his ears. The sound caused him to buckle and cover his ears as he screamed in agony. [break][break]

After a few minutes, he would regain his thoughts and kai out once more his appearance a lot worse for wear now. His hair was disheveled no longer held in its ponytail its length being a lot more apparent than most people saw it as half his face was now covered by its length. He was panting exhausted from the ordeal but he got up trying to regain some composure as he swept his hair out of his face. Taking a deep breath he would say, "Looks like you have got a good grasp of this technique and should be able to use it on other foes quite well." Masato prayed that whoever did end up on the other end of his genjutsu wouldn't suffer too much. [break][break]

"We should call it a night for now and get some rest I'm sure your chakra could use the recovery and I'm not sure I could handle another assault without ending up attacking you myself." Masato would give a slight chuckle at his words thinking of how much he was holding back on attacking his student simply because reflex told him to attack those who used jutsu against him. "Good job though Oriko," Masato would say giving the young boy a thumbs up before adding, "You will make a great genjutsu user within no time."

and some notes go here! they autoexpand. so go wild, mon frere.
