Don’t just weather the storm.
Dance in it.

The girl's vagueness wasn’t really a tactic or anything she planned, more so as it was just the way she was. She genuinely found trouble talking to people that she found little to no compatibility with, and without trust she was never really open with her thoughts and emotions, and she was never specific about details pertaining to herself. So she provided everyone with enough information as she deemed fit, enough information to suffice, wanting more than what she gave could be considered as greed and honestly, they were told to get acquainted, to know one another, everyone telling their abilities was a personal choice, it wasn’t necessary by any means. Besides, whenever they started the next round and there was a need for fire, then Kazui would have stepped up with no hesitation, if there were a need for water Toru would step up, there was no need to speak of abilities when they could easily be shown instead. Nevertheless, one could assume her lack of detailing as a tactic, but they’d be more than wrong.

Still, Kazui gently placed her head in her palm as she listened to Ryoko try to shame her for putting their survival over the life of a chicken and dog. It was laughable honestly, but still there had to be a common ground for them to stand on. "Ryoko, was it?” She would ask the girl’s name again. "I’m not trying to decide on what to kill first...I’m telling you that if by chance the worst comes to worst, then our survival will be top priority and if that bothers you for some reason, then there is something wrong with you.” Kazui said gently in her typical impassive tone. Planning for the worst was by far the best thing they could do, it was called being prepared because things rarely go the way they want, especially in an environment in which they had absolutely no control. If Ryoko had a problem with being prepared, then Kazui questioned the girl’s morale. She wouldn’t want her life to be in her hands, if the decision to kill a chicken for survival was so controversial. Sighing underneath her breath, Kazui would step a bit closer as she spoke.

"Do I think we’ll be placed into another pure survival scenario like the ones we just went through? No. Is it a possibility? Yes.” The girl spoke softly, trying to get Ryoko and the others to understand where she was coming from. She doubted they’d be forced to survive for a certain amount of time again, simply due to the fact that this was an exam to test all of their skills, so they definitely wouldn’t be testing the same thing over and over, at least that’s what she thought. Since it required team work, she was fairly sure that they’d have some sort of objective that needed to be accomplished, perhaps them having to solve something (or things) as a team that’ll get them through to the third round, all while facing the elements, as well as dealing with the scarcity of food and resources. That’s what the girl was expecting, but she didn’t know for certain.

Kazui listened to the girl’s words unamused as she spoke of the team’s possibility of being "lucky enough” to not be thrown on an island with no food, water, or other people. A chuckle softly escaping beneath her breath as she waved her hand dismissively. She had exhausted herself of words already, and she didn’t want to argue anymore with the girl, so instead the Uchiha would revert back to her silent demeanor as she left the situation alone. She had said what she needed to say, and there was no changing her mind. Hopefully, the girl was right but Kazui knew better than to get her hopes up. Quickly switching her train of thought on to everything they had, the girl would create a mental list of all the foods, weapons, and equipment they had.

"I’m ready when you guys are.” She murmured softly as she folded her arms across one another.

The girl was certainly one to talk about being weird, what with her chicken obsession... She was a bit cocky too. Toru sighed inwardly, finding this situation to be quite troublesome and a bit annoying. They had to work as a team, not argue or talk about how great oneself was. They were all here, that meant they were all capable in some way. That much was obvious, and he wasn't about to underestimate anyone here no matter how they spoke... That said, it did rub him the wrong way that the girl thought that the survival challenge was fun. Clearly, she had never been in a position where it was her everyday life. The bitter cold and lack of food became quite less fun when it extended for years on end.

Still, in normal Toru fashion, he said nothing just stared between his teammates in silence. Watching them carry on in the conversation, he had already said what he needed to say. There was no point in wasting more energy talking. At least Kazui suggested that she was ready when they were, he was ready as well.

"We can say it then." He remarked, pausing momentarily waiting for everyone to agree. If they did not, he would not say it until whatever else needed to be said was said. But if everyone agreed he would nod.

"Ready."

"Guess no more talk huh?"

With their inventory check apparently done, it looked like all that was left was for them to confirm that they were now prepared to continue forward. Honestly, despite the fear of what was to come, Ayukawa was still excited. Not only where they going to get through this, but with so many smart people around, they were going to rock through it with pure energy. All that was left was for them to come to the agreement of being prepared.

Rising back up to her feet, the dark haired youth would grin as she looked around her while then bouncing up and down as if to loosen herself up. She had been sitting for what felt like hours, and the last thing she needed was to get too relaxed. If the exams had shown anything so for, it was to expect the unexpected and to always be prepared. That meant being on your toes and ensuring that you had what you needed to survive.

Placing the items back into her bag, the girl would nod to the others as she looked to the door as well.

"Ready and rearing to go! Lets get this done! Booyah!"

Lion's Sleep
Hunter instincts and experience on the hunt have granted Ayukawa insight into the minds of the prey she encounters. Animalistic encounters have allowed her to track and be capable of following those that she intends to target, at times giving her brief, but small insight into their intentions. While not fully developed, they allow for her to be less than likely to be caught off guard in a extreme moment, but it isn't as developed as one with further experience in the art.

In the Jungle
To survive in the desert, one must be able to keep up with not just the prey, but also to outrun the wild predators as well. Ayukawa training and life in the wilderness and vast landscape has prepared her for such events. Her genetics in relation to the Saeko Clan have given her an edge in physical combat, along with making her much more agile. Living out in the desert has also made her incredibly durable due to the intense environment surrounding her, along with possessing a high amount of physical stamina.

"Yeah, Ryoko. I'm so proud you could retain my name for all of fifteen seconds. I'm very impressed." Her grin shifts easily into a taunting smirk, and she turns to better face Kazui. "Not all too surprising, I suppose, seeing as I gave my name, instead of moping in the corner so dramatically."

"This is an exercise in team work and I feel like we're already getting off on the wrong foot. Let me put this pretty plainly for you. If you wanna give me problems, I'm more than pleased to give them back to you. You wanna address me with respect, I'm happy to give that back to you as well. You can even remain neutral. The choice is yours, I'm am able to entertain myself with either option, but one is definitely better for the team than the others."

She lets her gaze linger on Kazui, big button eyes of her cowl staring blankly.  After a moment she laughs quietly, shakes her head, and resumes the previous air of entertained cheer she'd been holding. Oh yes, and cockiness.

"Regardless, a good way to start would be giving us your name, if you believe we peasants are worthy of knowing it. After that, I suppose I'm ready. We're not going to accomplish a whole lot standing inside here."

Fallen Blades' Eighth Semiannual Chuunin Exams!
Round Two: Cooperation Portion

Upon the shinobi getting to better know each other, as well as any cheaters or quitters being dismissed. The group would claim themselves to be ready and thus the second round would begin. An woman's voice would come over a PA system in the room's roof. "Thank you all for accepting the teams you've been given, as this next round they'll be your best resource for completing the task at hand. Consider this round a placement exam for your final round, as you'll be graded in large not just by completing the task at hand, but in doing so faster than any other team." This would be a race of objective completion on top of a team activity, but the doors hadn't opened and the challenge hadn't been explained.

"Ahead of you is a small obstacle maze, but inside this maze is no exit and it's a separate maze from the other contestants. However you won't be alone in the maze, as you're given the task of catching Jack our friendly jackalope! This will be no easy hare to catch, as it was specifically trained to evade shinobi like you. The maze is littered with paths only the rabbit can take, as well as threats which will only be activated by you the contestants." A simple goal of retrieval, it'd of been likely an annoyance to all, as surely they'd all at least once had that annoying retrieve the animal mission for some rich villager. How a D-rank mission could be an exam would likely become clear within the maze itself and the obstacles it provided.

"There will be important new rules on top of which you had to handle in the previous exam, firstly; you're not allowed to kill Jack! He's a good rabbit and his demise would be your disqualification. Secondly; you're not allowed to kill each other, if your teammates aren't helping that's their choice to hinder themselves and not your job to punish. Thirdly, no jutsu can be used directly upon Jack, if jack is inhibited by any active chakra a seal will go off on him designating your team in last place. Finally, you're expected to not dally, you won't know when your competitors complete their test, but if you're unable to catch Jack in less time than the other teams you'll receive a failing grade in this round specifically."

Upon finishing the narrative the double doors would open on their own, as they did so a freezing breeze would enter the already cool room. Peering into the 'maze' everyone would see a completely iced path. The walls, roof and floor were all ice. There'd be somewhat like tiles designated by the path ahead, each was 10ft by 10ft, there'd be three of these walled off at either side, before the fourth had no walls providing a split in the path. Beyond this point are three more tiles of 10ft with walls on either side until the third, which has a back wall as well providing a dead end of sorts. Center of this tile stands a small rabbit dressed in tiny deer horns. The walls enclosing these three tiles each having a small whole at the floor for the rabbit to traverse.

Familiar information:
Name: Jack
Race: Rabbit
Rank: S-rank
Nature: Wind
Description: Rabbit with tiny antlers, if you want a clearer image ask your assigned proctor.
SA's: (Unknown; defined by proctor)

Maze Information:
Mostly undiscovered, there's the rabbit at a dead end, but thirty feet prior is a path both left and right undiscovered.

Specialized SA's:
Based upon your performance in the last round, you'll be 'awarded' SA's of varying degree's.

Injury SA - a certain amount of weathering to your body due to past environments, it'll cause mistakes to be more painful and concentration to be weakened.

Fatigued SA - A certain level of famine, tiredness or thirst hindering your present state. Decreasing awareness, physical stamina and concentration to a lesser extent.

Low Reserves SA - A certain level of chakra drain based upon how much chakra was spent and whether or not any would be recovered. This'll effect the chakra cost of techniques you can cast as well as how much you can use jutsu this round.

These will be assigned to you by your proctor, so make sure your first post is rather short and keep in mind. YOU'RE setting your posting order, as soon as everyone posts once this'll be the order. At this point on the 48hr rule will be in full effect.

Rules to Round Two

  • No Summons can be used, if caught you'll be disqualified.
  • No Unsanctioned Equipment, if caught you'll be disqualified.
  • No Unwarranted Travel, restrictions will be made clear, if caught you'll be disqualified.
  • No Unsanctioned Animals, purchased and natural animals only, if caught you'll be disqualified.
  • No Outside Assistance, if you befall an injury, sickness or worst you must rely upon yourself and team.
  • Quitting is Allowed, but you'll be disqualified from further performing in this exam.
  • No killing the rabbit, it's death by your actions will be disqualification.
  • No casting jutsu DIRECTLY upon the rabbit, if caught you'll be disqualified and your team will be considered last.
  • No killing each other, if you're caught killing each other in this portion you'll not only be disqualified, BUT based on your leaders opinion and the Yuki Lady's advice, you can be put on trial for war crimes and punished up to the maximum charge of murder.
  • Your equipment counts as you, so those of you with dogs, if your dog kills the rabbit you'll be equally charged with killing it and thus disqualified.

"Awww we don't get to eat it???"

Moment Music

Disappointed as Ayukawa was at the news that no harm could come upon the creature in their pursuit of catching it, she'd kick up a bit of dust before the reveal of the maze came to them and as such, the rabbit itself. Tracking it would be easy for the girl with her abilities, but the fact remained that catching it without harm might be a bit of a obstacle. It was going to be a smart and likely predict their moves if they weren't aware of it's patterns.

Still, a test was a test, but she wasn't too worried about it this time. After all...there was more than just one mind here...and her friend had the best one outta all of them. Pulling her arm in close to her chest, the girl would grin as she then looked in Kazui's direction with a wink.

"Okay! Whats the play coach!?"

Don’t just weather the storm.
Dance in it.

Kazui didn’t pay Ryoko any mind, and truthfully she wasn’t looking at the girl or listening to anything she had to say, so her words fell onto deaf ears and her plan to try to get under the Uchiha’s skin was an absolute bust. Nevertheless, the team all decided they were ready for the second round to start, so without further ado, a female’s voice would speak out from the PA System up above on the ceiling, dark hues looked up as the woman gave the kids the rundown of the next round.

"A maze, huh?”

The girl mumbled softly as she continued to listen on. Their objective wasn’t to escape the maze, but to catch the jackrabbit. A hare that was trained to evade shinobi. A sigh escaped Kazui’s lips, her eyes slowly shifted from the ceiling to the double doors that the group stood in front of. Not only would they be trying to catch a rabbit but they would have to watch for threats as well. It didn’t seem too horrible, but only time would tell.

As the double doors creaked open, ice would be the first thing that greeted the genin as she proceeded to put on the winter attire that she had bought for the previous round. Once the girl was bundled up, she would look to her teammates and nod her head as she took the first step through the doors. Up ahead stood ‘Mr. Jackie’ - as she named him in her mind. "Cute...he has antlers.” She joked blandly in a muffled tone as the scarf covered her mouth. The girl continued to step forward, gloved fingers tracing the ice as she took in their environment. Once she walked all the way ahead of the start of the maze she would be greeted by a few options - a left path, a right path, and a deadend up ahead with numerous bunny trails for Jackie to take. Kazui would stop at the crossroads and look to her team as she pulled the scarf down from over her mouth.

"Something is telling me this is no small maze.” She voiced softly, making eye contact with each member. "Splitting up is risky, but if we’re all following each other’s trail then the chances of us catching Jacki - I mean .. the chances of us catching the rabbit is very slim.” Kazui said, her eyes shifting from member to member.

"I say we split. Kouki and I will be on different squads, just in case some sort of heat is needed. What do you guys say?” She asked, hoping to get their opinions. It was a suggestion, but in her mind it seemed like the right move to make since they did have a decent number of bodies, they would be able to cover ground more quickly. But still a question lingered..how would one squad communicate with the other? With Ayukawa’s ability, tracking the rabbit could be pretty easy. "Ayukawa, you can come with me. Ryoko, you can squad with Kouki since your dog should be able to help you track.” That just left Toru, the choice of which squad he wanted to join was up to him, regardless they would be sort of even.

Toru stood up when the voice was heard overhead, and soon enough the maze before them would be laid down and open. There at the end was a rabbit, that they had to catch. Except based on what he was seeing, solely just with his eyes it would be heard. Their best chance was certainly to fly in on the rabbit, corner it most likely... No jutsu applied directly on it but jutsu could be used to create obstacles for it to make it stop moving and have to take another route...

He chewed on his inner cheek for a moment, lost in his own world for a moment before he realized that the team was making sub-units.

"Uh..." He looked between the crew, shrugged and joined - or rather stepped up to - Kazui with Ayukawa. It didn't make much of a difference where he joined, not because he was somehow weak but because they ultimately had the same goal and would have to approach this with one brain, work together not against each other.

"I have an idea as well, I can make water or a puddle and hide in it... If someone can herd the rabbit over it at some point, I could come up and grab it from under the water." He explained briefly, it would require a little bit more fleshing out on how exactly they would flush the rabbit out into the water but it wasn't a direct use of jutsu on the rabbit so it could work as an option.

Ryoko’s smile brightens as the group is interrupted. Finally!

"Finally!

She turns with excitement towards the source of the sound, listening patiently as the details of the next round are laid out. Maze, rabbit, this all sounded extremely boring. Slowly her smile fades as more and more details are given, and she can’t help but suddenly feel like she’s on some D ranked mission, and not attending the chuunin exams.

Whatever. She had a job to do, she’d do it. She shifts her gaze to Ayukawa as she seizes the speaking initiative, then follows her gaze to Kazui. She wasn’t trying to get under the Uchiha’s skin, that’d be pointless. With the previous condescension gone, Ryoko is satisfied that she got her message across.

She looks Toru and nods a hello, then looks at her dog. Eh.. "I’m not sure about the dog, but I like the other ideas. Not exactly well trained, suppose it can sniff if needed but I'd worry about it hurting the rabbit. Splitting up seems ideal, we should head in and get a better feel for the area. Find where best to lay a puddle or other traps. Blocking up some of its passages would also help us restrict the rabbits ability to avoid us, and maybe help us funnel it somewhere predictable, assuming that’s possible. Likewise, failing a trap, something akin to a net would be helpful.

She grins and gives a little look around. "And I didn’t hear any rule about not melting everything.

Kouki was spacing out pretty hard on accident after the initial conversation within the team. He felt he got the gist of everyone and was just hanging out in his own mind until the next round started. His thought bubble popped as a female voice appeared in the room explaining the next objective. It just seemed like a D-Rank mission with extra steps which annoyed Kouki, but he figured the proctors would make this interesting. He had a difficult time himself trying to hunt rabbits in one of the previous biomes…but now he had to catch one completely unharmed? At least he now had companions to help out. The more reserved girl mentioned splitting up which Kouki was fine with. A group of five would be way too clustered in something like a maze. "I’m fine with that. Hopefully your little pooch can sniff em out.” He gestured to Ryoko’s dog. "I can block off some of the rabbit holes to start limiting its movements too.” He looked to Kazui. "Just pick a direction and we’ll go the opposite I guess.” She was the one initially strategizing so the boy was fine with putting the more leadership-like decisions to the Uchiha.

Round Two: Cooperation Portion

Jack wasn't startled by the doors opening, instead it'd turn it's attention to the revealed room. It's sight laid upon five shinobi, as it's ears would rise and it's nose would twitch. Eyes would look though despite everyone likely taking a gander at the rabbit, it'd only be the dog who'd lock onto the target at hand. The dog tensing as the rabbit merely scouted backwards slowly. It knew better than the canine, but the knowledge of this land was soon to be divulged to everyone.

Unless restrained the dog wouldn't wait for the team to come up with a plan, it'd see the rabbit and immediately attempt to go for the animal. Unhindered though the animal would gallantly charge past Uchiha and all to get it's free meal, but it wouldn't make it far. Spreading it's feet out it'd attempt to adjust to the ice, but be unable to stop it's own even short burst of momentum. Sliding quickly before toppling over and frantically squirming to get back up whimpering in confusion and yelping as though in trouble.

Halted the dog would pull against it's restraints and scratch at the stone floor attempting with all it's strength to yank itself and caretaker to the free meal. Instead of losing it's control and revealing the slick surface of the maze floor, it'd be Kazui who'd first be able to note the distinct lack of friction under her feet. Even walking would seem to require her shinobi level of balance and coming to a stop at the turning point wouldn't stop the previous motion from drifting her an extra inch further.

Whether it was the commotion of the dog or the approach of the Uchiha, Jack wasn't about this scene anymore and with little effort he'd waddle through the hole behind him. The rabbit beyond having antlers was a dark chocolate shade of brown and war a red bandanna.

Familiar information:
Name: Jack
Race: Rabbit
Rank: S-rank
Nature: Wind
Description: Rabbit with tiny antlers, if you want a clearer image ask your assigned proctor.
SA's: (Unknown; defined by proctor)

Maze Information:
-Mostly undiscovered, there's the rabbit at a dead end, but thirty feet prior is a path both left and right undiscovered.
-Gee-Whiz, that's some slippery footing!
-To Kazui's left and right heading towards the rabbit initially are two halls, both are three tiles or thirty feet long.
-Going right, there'd be two lefts, one at the second tile and another at the third.
-Going left, there'd be two rights, one at the second tile and another at the third.

Specialized SA's:
Ayukawa: Fatigued after getting very little rest during the first round, especially during the full second half and on top of this exerting quite a bit of energy in physically handling most it's challenges. Her awareness will be heavily effected purely do to lack of sleep, expect to miss interpret the rabbit and it's reflection in an instance of fast based action.

Kazui: Fatigued & Low Reserves despite attempting to fish, it was deemed unlikely the larger ocean fish would of been caught in the manner provided. So unlike Ayukawa who lacked time in rest Kazui is specifically quite hungry and likely unfed will have stomach issues. Due to this as well as a decent use of chakra, Kazui would have a slightly drained reserve.

Toru: Injured after being unable to totally avoid the monkey's through his manner, Toru will have suffered minor bruising as well as scratches across any part of him bare. Similarly his clothes would be lightly tattered.

Ryoko: Low Reserves after making it through the first round with two followers needing her attention, Ryoko has managed to use more chakra than anyone else in the whole exam, because of this her reserves are devastated. A medium drain could be physically impacting at this point.

Kouki: Low Reserves despite giving likely the third or fourth greatest drain in jutsu, Kouki consumed a military ration pill not too long ago. Due to this and the fact he's a jinchuuriki, he's got relatively average reserves if not slightly above that of a normal shinobi his rank. Though this is still lower than his normal and likely half or two-thirds his normal reserve.

Chunin Exams Round Two
"Woah! Hes fast...or is it because hes small that hes so fast?"

The events of the rabbits movements had been so fast to Ayukawa, she was struggling to keep up with it. In fact, it felt as if she were seeing two things at once as she attempted to get her balance upon the slippery floor. It didn't help that Ryoko's dog was ready to give chase. Regaining herself, she'd adjust her winter coat around her body, soon looking toward Kazui as she then could see the bunny butt swiftly move into one of it's passage ways.

Their plan was basically set in terms of teams. So all that needed to happen now was for them to implement it. With her tagging along with Kazui, she'd have to be at her best. Though in truth, she was still very tired and her disability to keep up with such a moving beast was proof of that. Attempting to shake it off, she'd bounce slowly up and down, hoping that doing so would keep her awake in a sense. Yet they had to get this done before she toppled over and slept right there on the spot.

"Okay! I'm ready...it went that way right..so we gotta try and figure out the rest of this place if we wanna get em into Toru's possible water trap. The rest of us are just gonna try and weed him out..right?"

Ayukawa would look over at her friend, then glance back at the others as she was ready to move..or at least..move as much as she could in keeping up with them. All she had to do was track, but it would be a bit tough if she couldn't get a good read on it. All she knew was the antlers and the fact that it had brown fur. Perhaps if she could get some of it, she might be able to smell him out...but they couldn't touch it. The odor was one way, the other was tracks..but that was impossible with the ice, he wouldn't leave an imprint.

She'd simply have to try and guess at it's pattern of movement, as it had to know this maze better than they did...

Don’t just weather the storm.
Dance in it.

Before the group could even start chasing the little bunny, a grumble would escape from Kazui’s stomach. It was a faint sound, one that probably she herself could only hear, but it wasn’t too hard to tell what was bothering the girl as she clutched at her stomach and gritted her teeth. Sigh beneath her breath, tired eyes would turn to meet the exhausted eyes of Ayukawa. Her hands shook every so slightly as she released her stomach and reached her hands out towards the Suna kunoichi.

"Ayukawa. May I…” She started before biting her tongue, quickly shifting her gaze towards the floor. The girl wasn’t one to beg for things, she put herself in this situation and felt as if she had to deal with it on her own. She would allow herself to be hungry since she failed to take care of herself in the first round. But for a moment she would put her pride to the side, which was rare. The girl understood the importance of this round, and she couldn’t focus to the best of her abilities then she was only lowering her own chances of becoming a Chunin.

"May I have..some food.”

Kazui asked hesitantly with remorse in her voice. It wasn’t who she was, and in fact it was the first time she had ever asked for anything. A beat of silence would overcome her as she looked deeper into the girl’s eyes. "You’re exhausted.” She said before her gaze began to drift around her teammates again. They weren’t the best that they could be, she could tell. The first round did a number on them just so that they could suffer in this round as well. If the girl -or anybody else- decided to help then Kazui would eat swiftly before moving on, maybe even eating as she went. She knew they didn’t have much time to sit down and recuperate, so it was best to keep moving. "That’s right Ayukawa. And yeah we should try plugging up as many trails as possible, but with all that we have. That’ll be easier said than done.” The girl said softly.

"We’ll go that way.” Kazui said as she pointed towards the left corridor. "If you guys need any help or if you’re on his tail, just scream and we’ll be on our way...” The Uchiha murmured. With that, the girl would nod before heading towards their designated area. Focusing chakra to the bottom of her feet to prevent herself from sliding around, she would come up to the first right that led into a somewhat room that had an exit on the alternate side of the opposite wall.

The room didn’t look promising since Jackie wasn’t in it, so she saw no reason to enter it, however she did notice the many bunny trails that Jackie could take which she assumed one side led back into the deadend towards the center of the maze, while the opposite side led into another room or corridor. "I don’t think going that way would be the best option.” She voiced softly. Instead she would continue further down the hall until she reached the second option that the maze had provided, which was another narrow hallway that led deeper towards the center of the maze. "Ayukawa. You got anything?” Kazui asked. She wasn’t sure how the girl’s clan abilities worked, all she knew from experience was that she was one hell of a tracker.

The dog wasn't a good thing since they weren't actively trying to kill the rabbit and Toru eyed the canine apprehensive, before realizing that the floor that they were entering was... Slippery. He would zip up his coat and his outfit entirely it was a touch tattered but he hoped enough to keep him from totally freezing inside. It didn't feel too good on the scratches present along his body, though these too he would suppress and move along. Having witnessed the dog slipping and sliding he chose a hopefully more graceful route. Focusing chakra to the bottom of his feet as the rabbit waddled away into a hole. They would need to find a way to close up all the options for the rabbit. To corner it and take it by the ears or something like that.

Furthermore, with the cold of the floor and the area, he doubted his water would work well before freezing for long so he would likely have to have a source of warmth nearby keeping his water as water and not ice. Especially if the cornering took too long.

A step onto the slippery floor with chakra reinforcing his feet hoping to make his own passage swift and smooth through, if it didn't work he would simply have to step with the grace of someone with his reflexes, muscles adjusting to rotate and move to keep him balanced.

He was silent, not speaking much at all just quietly hoping to see the rabbit... The rabbit could be anywhere... They would almost be better off plugging up every entrance and making sure that there was only one spot open - the one where they originally saw the rabbit...

Toru would wait for Ayukawa to speak before piping up.

"If you can track it down, we can maybe find a way to keep track of it, plug up all of his entrances and exits and flush him to the original spot near the entrance... I can put my water there as well so when he comes out I can grab immediately. Maybe someone can keep the water warm too so it doesn't freeze if it takes a bit too long." They didn't want to hurt the rabbit which is where the tracking came into play, making sure while they were plugging up entrances and exits they weren't burning or hurting the little beast.

"Stupid dog!

Ryo scowls beneath her hood, narrowing her eyes and focusing on her mutt. So much trouble it had been. Really, the only thing it had done well was sniff out rabbits. It might be worth keeping alive, but it’d take a lil more work.

Without a moment wasted Ryoko races after her dog. She barely needed to see it slip, the moment her feet aren’t finding a strong footing chakra just flows naturally. Water walking was easy, but wasting her chakra wasn’t. She only takes a few steps to catch the dog, then pounces on top of it. She slides a little as she wrestles the dog onto its back, growling at it the whole time.

This wasn’t the first time she’d had to put the thing in its place, and it’s easily forced to submit. "We ain’t hunting for dinner, but keep acting up and it’s gonna be you.” She mutters to the dog as she’s keeping it close and still. About the same time she pops in a little puff of smoke, and the previous henge no jutsu fades, leaving her once more in her tattered robes and winter coat. The hood and collar of her jacket still concealed her face, but it was a downer for her. She didn’t like being out of costume around strangers.

"Track it down, track it down. Make a map, find the paths. And never stop scavenging.” She mutters while she works, not able to add much physically, but advice was always helpful.. "Think the mutt will help, I have an idea. Maybe we eat the dog afterwards, instead of right now.”

Once her dog is secured she unzips her jacket a little and gives her chicken some space. She pulls the poor bird out and unwraps the sash that’s been keeping it all wrapped up and in place. She uses the sash to create a harness around the dog, giving her something she can grab securely and keep the beast under control. ‘This could actually be useful’ she ponders to herself, growing an idea as she makes note of her beast.

It was actually the best suited, naturally speaking, for the terrain. The ice was slippery, but the dog’s claws were made to dig and grip, not cut and slash. It’d be more suited than a cat at least, and give her an idea to mimic. After she’s got her dog all tied up she drags it and the chicken back into the starting area, so she can leave her chicken in peace. Dazed and deranged as the poor thing is by now, she didn’t think it’d cause too much trouble for itself.

Thoroughly distracted by these events, she’s not much use to the team it seems. So much for her talk of teamwork!
