The three were deliberating, Ikana was wanting the more quiet and stealthy approaching, or at least one that obscured the vision and senses of others. Sho approached this from a ground of neutrality, waiting for the two other teammates to fully deliberate on the matter. Kyoko ultimately upon discovering what there was to see, was swayed towards the side of stealth and even addressed that they could go towards the docks.

Alas, as the three continued to talk the two other teams - including Kyoko's brother - descended upon the patrol. Or at least, it looked like it. Because one team in an attempt at a sneaky approach was caught and there was a shout from the patrol that alerted the guards at the doors and in the area immediately. A flash of fire would be seen from that area and the entire posse's attention might be taken by all of this.

Fortunately, they were still out of harms way. But there was no chance that they would be going the stealthy route anymore with all of their enemies on extremely high alert with the attack that had come down upon them moments ago. Now they had a different challenge, and that was to either use the fight at the front as a distraction, join the fight, or pick another creative route...

It seemed they had little chance to spring their plan into action. For within the next moment, there was a bright flash seen from the patrol road, and there was a very blatant and flashy display that caught their attention. Looking outward, she'd try to garner what the hell just happened. Though saw that the guards by the gate were alerted That it was now evidently clear that there was going to be a bigger skirmish ensuing in but a moment here. "Damn..." There was that plan out of the window. Though. It was there in those ensuing moments that found herself looking back towards the other two.

"You're a sensory ninja?" She says looking to Kyoko. "If that's the case. You're more vital to this squad and this operation than I could have known. They'll all be on heavy alert now. I imagine they'll send the bulk of their forces to the gate now. We should either circle around to the dock and assault them from the point where their defense is weaker and try to flank the forces inside the Keep. Or, we could try to observe and wait for the ideal moment for us to join in the fighting with the teams here." Doing some thinking, she proceeded to look to Kyoko to make that call. She couldn't see what she saw after all, and information was vital at this stage in time.

"I'm leaving it to you. Nui-San." Referring to Kyoko.

"I see..." Shō nodded in response to Kyoko. When the legendary Swordsmen of the Mist hesitated, it was a clear sign that they were facing a formidable challenge ahead. As Kyoko provided a detailed account of the enemy forces they were up against, Shō’s expression turned grim. There were nearly a dozen enemies awaiting them as soon as they entered the keep, and at least five of them were Jounin-level shinobi. It was not just a matter of being outnumbered; they were potentially outmatched as well. As Kyoko asked for his opinion, Shō finally offered his thoughts.

"Considering all the valuable intel you've gathered," Shō began, carefully weighing his words, "I believe that a stealthy approach would be our best course of action. However, after some thinking, I have reservations about using Kirigakure no Jutsu." Shō explained his reasoning, "While it can create a temporary mist for concealment, it's not a true stealth technique. The moment the smokescreen is generated, it would alert the enemy. We might want to reconsider this." Deep inside, he doubted the mist could make them undetected against any competent shinobi, let alone those from Mizu no Kuni.

"I could easily infiltrate the area by travelling underground, utilising my clan's unique ability." Shō said it humbly. "Once I'm inside, I can employ an area genjutsu to render us effectively invisible." The technique he had in mind was Kase Geijitsu, which essentially manipulates the environment to his liking, including creating the illusion of emptiness, essentially making them appear invisible within a small area. "The enemies I can put into the genjutsu is roughly a 20 metres radius, or 40 metres diameter. Additionally, I can expand the effective range by creating a shadow clone and using the same genjutsu."

"Once we're inside," he continued, "We can strategise our next steps. We can decide whether to incapacitate them one by one or engage their leader. We might even catch a few enemies off guard with and remain undetected thanks to the illusion. And if we do get discovered, I'll begin using other genjutsu to distract them. My approach is flexible, and we can adjust as needed. I just want to let you all know what I'm able to contribute, and we can plan from there." Shō took a deep breath after outlining his plan, then turned to his teammates, eager to hear their thoughts. His approach wasn't the traditional form of stealth, so it was fair if they were concerned. However, his plan was flexible. Even if they decided to approach the mission from the port, the same plan could still be applied.

However, shortly afterward, a loud shout echoed from their location, indicating that someone had been discovered. Shō found himself uncertain about their next course of action. Should they rush to assist their comrades, or should they stick to their initial stealthy approach? It was evident that the stealthy method he had just proposed might not be as effective now that the enemies were on high alert. Shō decided to leave the decision to the team, looking to his fellow shinobi for their input.

Sho's response was a very good plan in Kyoko's mind it would provide them cover and they could eliminate quite a few people that way without having to be discovered. So to say she was very onboard with his idea was an understatement. "I like this idea so let's go with that," Kyoko would say with enthusiasm that made her rather harsh voice from earlier soften quite a bit. "Guess that means you shall lead the assault of our group then," Kyoko would say looking at Sho with practical stars in her eyes, but those stars would fade rather quickly.[break][break]

If things couldn't have been bad to begin with they just had to get worse. While from their vantage point, they were not spotted that couldn't be said about any of the other teams. Someone had been spotted and now the keep was on alert which could prove useful for sneaking in and using the chaos as cover, but there was something that would stop Kyoko from doing just that. Daichi. He was on one of the teams that would be doing just as she was doing and to say that Kyoko was worried was an understatement. Emotion filled her mind she was not going to be thinking fully rationally as she shouted, "Daichi!" Without giving the plan a second thought or even discussing it with her team she was on the move heading straight for the keep at her top speed.

The team continued to discuss until chaos unfolded in the background...

Kyoko's reaction was an emotional one, and she darted from their forested vantage point towards the fighting with a shout for her brother, leaving her team woefully behind.

Now Ikana and Sho were left alone, and perhaps not for the best as the team of three chunin had been created to raise their defensive and skill capabilities. The other two groupings had a special jounin in them which balanced the power scaling adequately. Kyoko's departure would put Sho and Ikana at an extreme disadvantage against any potential groupings of foes. They could attempt their stealthy approach still and hope to pick off enemies one by one as to avoid group confrontations since they were down a team member, or they could follow after Kyoko in an attempt to keep the power in numbers points there.

What would they do? Go with Sho's more stealthy approach and make an attempt at genjutsu? Or would they follow after Kyoko into the explosive fray..? And it was indeed very explosive as Kyoko ran off two large explosions shook the entire field awakening any who might have not been immediately aware that there were intruders coming upon the Keep's heels.

"Eh!?" Before Sho could even begin to implement their plan, Kyoko had already rushed headlong into the battlefield while shouting someone's name. He wanted to stop her, but it was too late, and he realised he didn't even know her name. Left hanging with Ikana, Sho felt a surge of anxiety. 「Daichi?」 He repeated the name in his mind but couldn't recall meeting someone with that name.

Regardless, it was obvious that this Daichi was someone of great importance to Kyoko, given her uncharacteristic emotional reaction. Sho suspected it was her family, a bond he understood and respected deeply. He would have done the same if he was in her shoes, placing family over everything else, even above loyalty to Kirigakure. And there was no shame in that.

Turning to face Ikana, Sho made a quick decision. "I'm going to join Kyoko on the battlefield." he said. He then asked Ikana if she would do the same. From a tactical standpoint, stealth seemed less beneficial now. Even if somehow they were able to capitalise the chaos, it was hard to pick them one by one as all the enemy was on high alert. But more importantly, Sho couldn't bring himself to abandon a teammate. He had seen too much death and attended too many funerals of people he cared about.

"I'm done with paying koden." Sho added, trying to lighten the mood with a joke. 「I do not want to regret anymore.」 He muttered, then quickly followed with a clap of his palm to merge himself into the ground, quickly traveling in the direction Kyoko had run. Periodically, he would resurface to survey the area. If Sho managed to locate Kyoko, he would carefully assess the situation before deciding on their next move.

Within a split moment. Ikana was alone. Which was rather fitting, considering that was how she always felt in her life. She'd had little experience working with a team. She could count the number of friends she had on a single hand and not even use all the fingers. So. When Sho left, she crossed her arms over her chest to think for but a few seconds as she tried to rationalize what the intelligent option was. Her instincts told her that it was better to wait and see and hop in as needed. Capitalize on the opportunity. On the other hand? Something told her that this was the moment to distinguish herself. It was moments like these that heroes could be made, and legends could be born in this ninja world.

"Damn it..." Taking the liberty to form a swift series of handseals at a rapid pace, she sought to race after Kyoko, staying just behind her as she calls out. "If need be, leap behind me. I have a defensive jutsu prepared. I have your back." She calls out to the brunette, charging so eagerly to the field. Her eyes sharply looking out to the field of battle. At this point in time, there would be little room for tactics, and it was clear that no plan survived the enemy. In this time, it would be a chaotic all out brawl. Battle raging and ensuing between themselves and their foes. Mindful of traps that may be laid out, as she imagined there would be, Ikana kept her eyes open to everything she could use at her disposal.

What a fucking terrible day this was.

It didn't matter to Kyoko if they followed her or not Daichi could be in danger and she wasn't about to be an only child if she could help it. Was this reckless yes, but reason went out the window when it came to Kyoko and the love she had for her brother. If anyone was to perish in the battle between the two of them she would be the one to take the hit if she had to, but until that time came she would make sure she could protect him to the best of her ability. yet despite this harsh determination, she wasn't about to give up on the mission either she would make sure to capture the keep with the help of the other teams if her squad decided to continue with the stealth plan. While not ideal at least she trusted Sho and Ikana enough to get something done even if she wasn't there to help.[break][break]

Luckily for her, she wouldn't have to worry about leaving them behind as they would be quick to follow. While she couldn't physically see them, or at least Sho, she felt like their presence was following along. Call it her intuition if anything, but she did get confirmation when she heard Ikana talk about having a defensive jutsu just in case things got bad. A small smile would appear on Kyoko's worry-ridden face as she called back, "Understood!" Maybe just maybe charging forward was the right idea and hopefully, Kyoko wasn't making a grave mistake going to Daichi's rescue.

The rest of the team took off after Kyoko who had run after Daichi, they ran for the center where much of the action was. Walls of water were being summoned to put down fire birds, whilst other explosions and fire birds survived to attack people and send others in blasts backwards. This was the fate of the patrol of five, that by the time the trio had arrived on the scene, they were grounded laying there from the two explosive tags that had been set off by Daichi...

Though that did not necessarily save the alliance from the fire birds, and nor did this explain whether or not their enemies were dead or not. They were on the ground, but someone had the durability to take Kimihiro to protect their leader from his attacks - not that the trio would know this, but it was a reason for why some were simply laying there...

Without a sensor though, and without Kyoko's eyes focused in with all of the fire blazing across the grass - and slowly flickering away from the explosions - nobody would be able to tell what was happening and whether or not the chakra signatures had died off too to see if they were dead or not.

But there was more trouble brewing, and it was not just the fact that Keiji was dealing with a pretty capable guard all the way by the Red Keep's main door.

The trio arrives to the end of an action sequence. The patrol of five are downed but it is not yet known whether they are all dead or not... Keiji is the only one who is not part of the party currently as he attacks the main gate.

Fires and explosions, bodies and destruction. Shō couldn't help but feel a sense of dejavu. The scene before him was all too familiar, reminding him of the past conflicts he had witnessed. While he was shocked and eager to take action, Shō knew that he had a crucial duty to fulfil as a shinobi of the Mist.

Recalling the strict orders not to allow anyone to escape, Sho swiftly moved into action. He began by spreading the corpse of insects from his pouch near the entrance and any potential exit points he could identify. He then executed a unique and niche ninjutsu technique known as "Flower Bloom". With a sequence of hand seals, he created genetically modified fungi on both his palms. With a forceful throw into the air, the fungi dispersed over a wide area, covering at least fifty metres distance. As he scattered the spores, he would give a short explanation to his team.

"The unique thing about the fungi is that if it comes into contact with a corpse, it will devour the corpse very quickly." Shō informed his teammates. But there was a secondary, more sinister aspect to the technique. "Once the corpse is devoured, they will turn into a trap, hidden from human eyes beneath the surface. When stepped on, a spear would thrust out." Shō hoped the team would remember because the last thing he wanted to see was his teammate being hurt by his traps.

Apart from the trap which was designed to catch any survivors attempting to escape the area, the side effect would also help the team to identify who were alive and who were dead, for instance, the five patrol bodies lying in front of them. Afterward, Shō would stand ready, awaiting his team's decision on their next course of action. He planned to stick with them, recognising that he was not the most proficient face-to-face combatant when alone in such a chaotic situation.

Confronted with the sight of the fire beginning to spread lightly across the grass, Ikana found herself wary as she stood before the grass. "We need to regroup..." Though, as Sho sought to use his jutsu on the bodies laying before them, Ikana kept herself mindful and her senses sharp. The young girl would proceed to turn to Sho then with a brow raised. "If the fire spreads over the bodies, wouldn't they just burn your traps?..." She muses. Still having her handseal maintained as to provide emergency cover for their team, she looks towards the main gate for a moment. Knowing that even if this team was taken out, the real fighting was going to be ahead.

She'd thought about just using a simple wind jutsu to blow the flames and drape all of these fuckers on the ground with a flaming wind. However, figured that this would be just as fine. Though, she kept her eyes on these figures that lay prone on the ground. Playing possum didn't sound like something that was out of the ordinary. That, and the team of three had little context on what the hell happened here. Or where their allies were. Standing between Sho and Kyoko, she focused and honed those instincts of hers. Payed attention to the small details, and took in everything in stride.

Assuming nothing much happened, Ikana would proceed to look upon the other members of the team. Expectantly as if to advance once they confirmed these stragglers were dead.

Upon the arrival of the trio team, things were already kind of dieing down. Sho would reveal a technique and three of the two bodies sank into the ground, revealing that Kimihiro had killed one, but now that would show that two were still alive. Though for how long, that was impossible to say... Daichi and Kimi had barely managed to get away from being hurt in the last onslaught and Keiji and Kasumi had run towards the gate to join forces against the guards there, but it all seemed for nothing now as Ikana looked onto the field.

Perhaps it would be best if they did regroup? It was hard to tell in the moment, but after the silence a whisper unlike any other came. A whisper that would require extreme proficiency in kenjutsu, a shield or durability to be able to mitigate fully. A flurry of arrows would begin to fly down upon the party. All three parties in fact would experience the same thing as the arrows covered the field, and actually caused the two who were previously alive on the ground to start sink underneath as they were killed by the sudden raining of weaponry.

Sho and Ikana would have to find a way to hide themselves to avoid being killed or severely injured by the arrows and standing out in the clearing would do no good.

Sho's technique ultimately sinks all five of the patrol into the ground, but after a momentary pause arrows fly down upon the party. How will they solve this issue?

Ikana recognized that whistle. After having sparred and trained with someone like Taru who used a war bow, that sound was quite distinguishable. Her instincts kicked in. Seeing the volley of arrows soar through the sky. She immediately hops into action, standing before her teammates, as her chest puffs up. "Suiton: Suijinheki!" She calls out, exhaling a pressurized jet of water that rose high into the air as she held her hands horizontally to her chest to get a better sense of control. Standing tall as she provides cover for herself, as well as Kyoko. Regardless of the arrow's momentum, the pressurized wall would doubtlessly divert them from their course, sending them knocking backwards, the arrows that shot too high passing over them and thudding into the fallen foes.

"We need to get moving! Move! Move! Move! Stay close to me!" Ikana calls forth. Running now towards the keep itself, she looks to move and rally with Daichi and Kimi whilst running towards the wall also. Expecting for her team to keep behind her, considering she could provide them protection from volleys from this point forward. It was harder to get sight on and hit a moving target, and she'd seek to get to their forces as swiftly as possible before advancing onto the Keep. Post haste. Reaching into her pouch, she takes out a kunai with a high power explosive tag. The next time a volley like that was thrown at her, she'd throw it into the air to meet it midway and blow the volley out of existence with the power of her explosive. The blast outward would more or less ensure that no arrow or its fragments would harm them.

There was no point in using them for anything else. They weren't allowed to do collateral damage after all. So better use them for something like this.

Even before being granted the power of the Sanbi, Kyōbōna Ikana had possessed a large chakra pool. It seems that after its removal, she still has access to a larger than average reserve of chakra, allowing her to use more chakra in battle before requiring rest.


Enhanced Speed: With the usage of weights, the user of this SA has been able to increase their endurance, strength, and most importantly and most noticably their speed as a result of this type of training. Ikana as a result of training with weights is now able to move noticeably faster and can move now about as fast as a Taijutsu Primary of her rank level as well as some minor ability to maintain speed for a longer time and with some more weight on her person.

Enhanced Handseal Speed: Taking great care and interest in the arts of various ninjutsu and other arts requiring handseals, she has focused on the basic fundamentals in order to increase her overall handseal speed. This allows her to perform handseals as if she were a ninjutsu primary specialist, thus overall allowing her to perform handseals at an overall increased pace.

Suiton Mastery: Through intensive training in the art of Suiton and a variety of techniques, Ikana is capable of performing Suiton ninjutsu more effectively, with greater power and speed. It allows for her to also have a greater ease in utilizing Suiton ninjutsu that would otherwise require large amounts of water even in areas where there isn't any by pulling moisture from the air and generating it herself.

Enhanced Reflexes: Combining Ikana's battle experience and attention to detail, this allows for Ikana to move with an enhanced reaction time and a sense of intuition for danger. This leaves her moving with enhanced clarity and awareness of her surroundings and her opponent's movements.

Only three of the corpses showed signs of decomposition, it was a relief but quickly left Shō to ponder his next course of action; spare them or end their lives. The thought of staining his hands with blood didn't sit well with him, but allowing them to awaken later and escape could jeopardise the mission. He contemplated if there were any alternative options, but his dilemma was short-lived. A faint whistle reached his ears, followed by the resounding sound of countless arrows being launched into the night sky.

To his surprise, Shō wasn't overwhelmed by fear, instead, he found himself filled with admiration. The unfolding scene was nothing short of captivating. The arrows pierced the dark sky, their tips shimmering brightly like stars in the dark night. "The Starry Night..." he murmured in awe. However, Shō swiftly snapped back to reality, recognising that there was no time to appreciate the spectacle as gravity mercilessly pulled the arrows back to earth, sending them hurtling towards their position.

Initially, he attempted to create a mushroom shield for defence, but he abandoned the idea as soon as his teammate Ikana stepped forward and exhaled a powerful water wall, diverting any stray arrows that might have threatened them. Shō stood ready with his tanto, prepared to block any stray arrows that breached her first layer of defence.

While Ikana shielded them from the arrows, Shō unveiled another skill he possessed. With a quick series of hand seals and a loud proclamation meant to draw the enemy's attention, he declared, "BEHOLD! The Tajū Kuchiyose no Jutsu!" He then slapped the ground, and though nothing physically appeared, in the eyes of those who caught a glimpse of him, it seemed as if he had summoned fierce and raging wolves. These illusionary wolves would appear to race menacingly toward their location. Shō had no knowledge of the enemy's exact positions, but that didn't really matter. His goal was to create chaos and buy time for the team, perhaps even causing the enemies to inadvertently harm each other in their panic. Shō had devoted significant effort to making this illusion appear as realistic as possible, even seeking a private training session with Keiji-san from the mighty Kuronmeru clan.

Once the genjutsu was in motion, Shō clapped his palm once, then quickly merged back into the underground, maintaining close proximity to his team and tracking their distinctive footsteps while submerged.

Fire. Blazing fire across the grass fields unfolded before her and she stood in shock for a half second taking in the scene before her. Usually, she could distance herself from the carnage take a distant look at things and coldly accomplish her tasks given to her with no worries, but this was different. A life she cared about was on the line and though she was certain he could take care of himself she couldn't help and be frantic for his safety. In this village, he was all she had and she was so scared to lose him. [break][break]

Yet she didn't have time to stare in shock at the scene before her long. Kyoko would become a sitting duck and could lose everything if she stood still for too long. The action never waited for those to pass their thoughts first so she needed to ready herself much like her teammates did. The quick whistle that would pull her back to reality would signal a rain of arrows from the sky. "Shit," Kyoko would mutter thinking about how she wasn't that equipped to handle this kind of attack, but her teammates seemed to have it under control as Ikana used a water wall to at least redirect the arrows. Looking towards Ikana she would give a nod of approval especially when Ikana suggested they keep moving. if they were going to go for the keep itself they would surely end up working with Daichi so Kyoko was game for this situation and followed along. As she ran she would reactivate her eyes to keep an eye on the chakra signatures around them watching to make sure no stragglers tried to escape while also keeping an eye on those around her too.[break][break]

Kyoko, like many before her, has developed her clan's Kekkei Genkai which is a dojutsu granting her a few abilities. They are tied to her eyes and have a hand in detection. Able to detect the chakra and vitality of a person up to 1km away in distance.
