The now grouping of five witnessed the arrows flying from the heavens and they reacted, well some reacted, others were a little less quick on their feet. Particularly Ikana and Daichi were the first to react, Ikana summoned a water wall to protect her comrades as she pushed forward towards the Keep whose front doors were basically wide open to enter now with no guards to block the area. A few arrows did get past Ikana's water wall, but they were so slowed down at that point that they just clattered to the soft grassy ground as the grouping kept moving.

Daichi got something that was a bit sturdier to block and Kimi managed to use his sword. Kyoko joining the fray as she activated her eyes behind to view what was happening.

Something like twenty people were at the top of the Keep shooting arrows, completely unfazed by Sho's attempt to scare them with the wolves. They were not anywhere near the threat, so it was not something they really cared about... Still it seemed that their job was done and they were scattered downwards separating between levels of the Keep instead of being concentrated up at the top.

Now the group could enter the Keep, or run up the wall to the top... But Kyoko could see that at the very top there was someone extremely dangerous in wait, someone that even all together, they would unlikely be able to take on.

As the volley of arrows ended and the group came upon the main doors unprotected and unguarded, what would they do?

When Ikana arrived at the gate, she could see of course the archers beginning to retreat from their battlement as they got closer. Gritting her teeth for a moment, she'd slipped her explosive kunai back where she got it from. She'd instead prepared handseals for another jutsu, as she looks out to all of her fellow allies. "We should seize the wall. Use it to get a vantage and higher ground." Taking the liberty to tap into her large reserves, she forms a singular handseal. "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu." Within the next moment, a singular clone poofs into existence by her side.

"Go." Handing the clone a small bauble ball, a flash bomb, it leaps atop the wall and begins to make its ascent. The clone begins to go forth, sword held firmly, but not yet drawn with one hand, as it seeks to get to the top of the structure. Looking out for potential danger and scouting ahead. To see if the wall was fully secure, and if it was so, to signal to the Chuunin below, or to disperse itself to let Ikana know what it could see from on high. Alternatively. If it did have to fight? Well. Perhaps it could display some value there. As it lands upon the divot gap, it crouches as it prepares to face any potential dangers. Meanwhile?

Ikana on the lower surface prepares for battle as well.

DESCRIPTION:

The Kage Bunshin technique evenly distributes your chakra between one or more clones with form and substance.



The clones created by this technique are able to utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows, has all of their special abilities, as well as their kekkei genkai. Typically a clone's equipment doesn't retain any special abilities and the clone itself is dispersed when hit with a single attack or incapacitated, although the clone can also choose to disperse itself or be dispersed by the user.



When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained along with it's remaining chakra are passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones.

It appeared they had reached a checkpoint, and the immediate threat of attack had subsided as they neared the keep. Shō and his teammates stood just outside the entrance, accompanied by the other two Kiri-nin. It was clear that one of them was Daichi, as he shared a resemblance with the kunoichi of his team.

Ikana and Daichi were the first to spring into action. They began discussing their next steps and after the latter briefed the team of what he had observed, Shō nodded. Intel was important, especially when they were the aggressor. "Understood, so I guess we are sticking to the main entrance?" Shō asked the other teammate.

While waiting for their responses, he added, "If we are going in, I might be able to help a little with my genjutsu." Shō was referring to the genjutsu he had previously mentioned to his teammates, the Kase Genjitsu. It was unique in that it required no sound or sight but was triggered by contact with an invisible field of chakra.

Shō wasted no time to cast the technique, he held his palms together and pushed out a field of chakra, creating an invisible sphere that extended to a range of approximately twenty metres. Anyone coming into contact with this field would fall under the genjutsu's influence, making the doorway "frozen" from their perspective, which would effectively render the Kiri team invisible to them as they crossed the entrance.

He then cautioned the team while holding his hand seal, "I have casted an illusion. We won't appear when we enter the doorway and stay anywhere close to the entrance. But the range is limited, so please take care." Hopefully the genjutsu would buy them some room or time for their next action.

Things were looking somewhat up for Kyoko now that she was reunited with her brother. Daichi was safe if not a bit battered up from the fight, but at least he was safe. Yet things didn't seem all that safe if she was honest with the reactivation of her eyes she could tell going to the top of the keep from the walls was going to be dangerous. She would have relayed this information, but Daichi beat her to it. This put a smile on her face as it meant he was working hard and showing the village just what he was capable of doing. "You got this Daichi," Kyoko would mutter to herself as she focused on the gates ahead. [break][break]

With a new fire in her belly, Kyoko was ready for combat and wanted to rush in along with some of the other members, but she stood back listening to what others had planned. Sho created a genjutsu to conceal their presence while Kimihiro and Daichi went into the keep. Ikana on the other hand created a clone to scale the walls to gather intel and while Kyoko didn't fully agree with this it mattered not since it was a simple clone. So for now she would simply follow those around her and continue to storm the keep keeping a close positioning to her brother Daichi in case he needed protecting while also keeping her eyes peeled for any dangers around them.[break][break]

Kyoko, like many before her, has developed her clan's Kekkei Genkai which is a dojutsu granting her a few abilities. They are tied to her eyes and have a hand in detection. Able to detect the chakra and vitality of a person up to 1km away in distance.

When Kimihiro tested the door, it opened at the slightest indication of pressure. It was a heavy wooden thing, and quite sturdy. But it seemed that its hinges were well cared for enough that it did not struggle to swing on them almost effortlessly. It was not quick, but it was a smooth slide open.

There were no visible traps in the area, just a wide area. Like a welcoming hall almost made of stone, carefully crafted but definitely having seen a lot of time to weather away. Nothing a little care could not replenish. There were a few hunting pieces lining the walls, and a rather large rug.

Kasumi and Keiji would see this, standing next to the rest of the party now. But they would have to determine whether they were going to run in together or if they were going to try and stick next to the rest of everyone who was on standby.

For Ikana's clone it would try to climb up the main wall of the Keep, but upon being spotted it was met with an undue amount of force. Waves of katon, raiton and fuuton sweeping through blanketing the wall in large swathes enough to cause the clone to fully disperse or have to jump away from the wall and fall back to the ground.

In the meantime, Sho would cast an illusion attempting to cause any enemies to not see them. Alas, in the moment there were - seemingly - no enemies in the area.

Now, finally the penultimate moment came.

When they entered the Keep, there were still no traps and that much was visible through any chakra sensory too. There were a few torches here and there to keep some light in the darker space. There were no enemies in the area either, or so it seemed. There was a large center staircase, a grand staircase. That all of them could fit on if they walked up onto it. There was also a direct path to their left and a direct path to their right.

Both seemed to lead into another room.

The staircase too split into directions, east and west, left and right. How would the party decide where to go, and would they stay together or would they strategically split away in parties to investigate? How much time did they think they could afford to waste?

"Phew." Shō's sigh of relief echoed through the entrance as they encountered an empty room, devoid of any immediate threats. He released the hand seal, effectively cancelling the genjutsu, and proceeded to advance further into the building alongside his team. Their exploration eventually led them to a significant juncture, a three-way staircase to be exact.

A moment of silence lingered in the air until Daichi assumed the role of commander, taking charge of the situation. Shō had no objections to the decision, simply nodded in agreement with Daichi's directive to head to the right along with his original team members. However, he was aware of the fact that their team consisted of more than just him, and he wanted to hear Kyoko and Ikana's perspectives before finalizing their course of action. Though, he hoped they would align with Daichi's suggestion, not because it was a flawless plan, but because they faced a ticking clock. They were practically racing against the time.

If they agreed with the proposal, Shō would wait for Kyoko to make the decision and plan, since she possessed the unique ability to sense the enemy. Moving forward without any intel was a recipe for disaster, especially given his current state of fatigue and the absence of defensive jutsu in his arsenal. Thus, he patiently awaited Kyoko's input, ready to follow the path they collectively deemed most appropriate for their mission.

Her sensory wasn't proving to be as useful as she thought it was going to be especially with all the chakra signals going around the whole keep it was hard to keep track of them all. Much less which to identify which were friends and which were foes. So Kyoko was a bit unsure about how to go about this mission much less when they were faced with choices. Paths to the left and right along with some stairs to their front which way was optimal and which way was catastrophic. Kyoko wasn't sure since her sensory wasn't the best and she relied more on physical confrontation than anything else.[break][break]

She wouldn't have to make much of a choice as Daichi was the one to take the lead. He gave them all orders and despite Kyoko not fully wanting to leave his side, with his warning to not follow him she would understand and follow along. Giving him a wordless glance as if to say just be careful. Their goal was to clear out the area now and rendezvous with the rest of them back upstairs. [break][break]

Turning to the team she had been assigned with she would see Sho was fairly okay with the plan Daichi had suggested to which Kyoko would look at him with a nod and then look at Ikana. Directing her words to both of them she added, "There are quite a few throughout the entire keep so we are most likely going straight into danger. Don't let anyone escape and just mow them down. Keep an eye on each other and if we do this fast enough we can return and join the others." Kyoko would then turn her attention to the right and begin the assault ready Nuibari for the upcoming fight.[break][break]

The clone in question as it began its climb, began to see the amount of pure force thrown upon it. A wave of destructive techniques hurled downward from the vertical incline. It looks upwards and realizes there was little choice but to jump. So it did. It leaped backwards, entering a somersault flip as it lands along the ground some meters away, before then jumping back even farther as the jutsu collide along the ground, attempting not to get caught in the blast radius if the jutsu were to spread or cause explosion. Shielding itself with its bracered arms, allowing the flak jacket and her armor to protect herself.

"There's a lot of them up there..." It says, trying to get an idea of how many different jutsu were just hurled her way. "Tsk..." Deciding to report back into the keep, it swiftly dashes towards the gates, entering the main building to meet with the original and the rest of the party. Though instead of saying too much, it remains on standby to listen to the others and the original. Ikana had little qualms with the plan in question. They needed to clear out the grounds. There were three teams and three directions to go. Up. Left. Right.

"That's the plan. Nuibari-San." Ikana proceeds to draw her Katana then, sliding it forth from the scabbard. As the clone of hers calls out to everyone before them. "The enemy has good long range attacks. Fuuton, Katon, and Raiton. Be prepared." The clone too draws its katana, prepared to travel with the group appropriately.

Daichi made a decision, a call for the rest of the group and it was a decent one - a divide and conquer strategy based on what he saw.

This put Kyoko, Ikana and Sho on the path to the right cutting away from the main entrance hall and to one of the veins that cut into another path. It was a clear path that cut right and there were no traps, they could easily move through the immediate archway past a tiny segmented area before they entered through another archway into a decently spacious room. But then they would hear quite a loud snap behind them. If they looked behind them, a door had closed and closed tight. Unlike the rest of the Keep this door was made of stone instead of wood and would not be easily broken through to get out. Now they were in a dimly lit room, it was somewhat square made of stone like the rest of the place. There were a few windows that faced out to the front, but the other primary source of light were the torches that hung on the walls.

The eerie silence filled the air before the sound of footsteps would be heard and a chuckle that quickly followed after, the duo would soon see a man come through a doorway opposite that shut behind him locking them into this space.

"Ghost hunting?" It might been an odd thing to say, but if the three were paying attention this man did not seem one bit nervous unlike those that had been attacking before. There was something different about him. It would be immediately obvious to Kyoko that this man was at least of jounin level in terms of his chakra. The sound of footsteps dropping from above also came almost like droplets from the air morphing into people and the sound of swords would descend upon the trio - the battle would begin.

They go to the right and are met with an adversary unlike before.

However it is not this adversary that makes the first move, but rather three individuals who came seemingly from nowhere with drawn swords attacking Ikana, Sho and Kyoko in tandem from behind.

They entered into this abode, and as swiftly as they entered this square room, lined with torch sconces that dimly lit up the area, Ikana was keenly aware when the door locked behind them. Before ahead, there was the sound of laughter. What an interesting little chamber. Though frankly. Ikana was hardly fearful. She could have blown open these doors with ease. What the man before them might not have expected, was as soon as the door clicked behind him and his laughter came to a close, Ikana immediately leaped into action without a moment's hesitation. Both her, and her clone screaming outwards in a battle cry, their yell reverberating and echoing through this chamber.

Potentially cutting him off from even asking his question, or at least potentially drowning out hearing it properly as she sought to kill the fool as swift as he'd entered. Ikana made a dash for his center, whilst Ikana's clone leaped atop the wall and sought to assault his right flank, leaping out towards him from the right flank, looking to assault him with the higher vantage. This left Kyoko free to assault the man immediately from the left flank, joining Ikana in their metaphorical gang beatdown situation. With their roar, they firmly hold their blades, prepared to intercept and deal with whatever little tricks the jolly bastard had set for them. This was battle, war, and it was in those vying moments that she wasn't going to let any opponent get the better of them.

Adrenaline pumping through her veins, this would initiate Ikana's first real life or death Shinobi on Shinobi combat.

Trapped behind the imposing stone door in an equally stony chamber, nothing could get worse than that. Sho was literally stripped away of his ability to use his signature technique, Iko. It was a situation that offered no easy escape, making him to be more careful of his next step. His intuition warned him that the situation was bound to worsen, a gut feeling that proved accurate as the eerie silence in the room was shattered by a sinister laughter. Suddenly, they found themselves under attack by mysterious figures that seemed to materialise out of thin air.

Sho's instincts strongly suggested that the sudden attack was illusory, as it made little sense for the ambush given the lack of entrance to the sealed room. Trusting his intuition, he decided to put it to the test. In most one-on-one situations, he would be hesitant to use the Kai jutsu, as he couldn’t be sure of that, and any wasted movement might put him in further disadvantage. However, in the current scenario, with his teammates surrounding him, he was able to test the authenticity of their surroundings.

With a quick hand seal, he muttered, "Kai!". But instead of using it on himself, he directed it toward Ikana, putting his hand on the back of the kunoichi. As a genjutsu specialist, he was well aware that Kai worked better if used on a teammate. If the jutsu yielded a positive result, Sho would swiftly perform the same technique on Kyoko to free her from the illusion. However, if his suspicions proved incorrect, he would rely on Kyoko and Ikana to shield him from harm.

"Damn," Kyoko would say audibly they had entered a trap much less with someone who had a huge chakra signature. With the door slamming closed behind them it meant they were now confined to this area till they could deal with this adversary. At least it wasn't a one-on-one so maybe they could stand a chance against this man, but his signature didn't make Kyoko feel too confident in their abilities especially if they didn't work together. Teamwork was not going to be this group's strong point as Ikana rushed in for the attack. That was never wise as they didn't know his capabilities much less with the attack coming from above them. Sho seemed to be under the impression it was an illusion which was fair, but the idea of it not being one also worried her so Kyoko would go on the defense. Using her fast reflexes she would take off her cloak and throw it into the air to blind the one attacking her while switching to her shinobi umbrella to protect sho from the attack aimed at him. Putting some of her Raiton chakra into the umbrella would create an electrical surge to stun the attacker so Sho or Ikana could take them out.[break][break]

It did not matter if Ikana screamed or not - though the scream proved to just make the man standing there look at her as if she were more of a weirdo than anything else... Or perhaps just scared - nothing changed in the environment. Ikana and clone attempted to take over him with sheer numbers, hoping that Kyoko would assist in the attack, but there were other enemies to consider coming from behind and indeed Kyoko picked a good path to protect Sho and herself from those coming from the ceiling. That however, left Ikana soloing - with her clone - the clearly main enemy of the room.

Well, it actually left quite a complicated scene.

Firstly the droplet coming down on Ikana, their sword moved through the air missing everything entirely.

The droplet coming for Kyoko would smack their sword into Kyoko's cloak, ripping through it with a growl.

The one coming for Sho would find himself stunned by the electricity, and almost immediately plopping to the ground as a watery blob, too shocked to continue. That left two of three however, ready to attack again.

Which is what happened.

The one nearby Kyoko did not stay in the cloak for long and instead used the temporary engagement with the one attacking Sho as an opportunity to attack both Kyoko and Sho with his sword once more. The one that had been aiming at Ikana came running at her and her clone from behind while she was distracted with the main event.

Sho's attempt to get out of an illusion would not work as there were no illusions to dispel.

And if there were, well Ikana running straight at the enemy would make certain that she remained caught in whatever illusion there was.

Ikana's attack along with the clone was met with very little result as the man was easily able to bypass her attack, almost too easily, she was facing a foe that she would not be able to take on alone...

"Well don't cry, it's just a little harder than normal," He mocked, and Ikana along with her clone might not be able to help it but start to feel her eyes being irritated and drying out.

Notes: Ikana and her clone have failed to cause damage to the main enemy, and are too distracted to see someone else coming behind when the genjutsu is cast - required to take sword damage from behind from Peon 1.

Sho barely escapes taking damage thanks to Kyoko, however Kyoko must take sword damage from Peon 3 as a result of her defense against Peon 2.

Both parties taking damage can choose how/where, but are required to have a flesh cut from a katana swing at this junction.

Peon 1: Attacking Ikana from behind while she attempts her attack on the big bad.

Peon 3: Has swung cloak off and is quickly re-engaging with Kyoko while she is stunning Peon 2.

DESCRIPTION:
One of the more simple genjutsu within the Magen, Demonic Illusion, tree. Don't Cry, once triggered by saying its name, tricks the touch sensations of a target's tear ducts. This irritation has the possibility to cause the target to cry profusely or enough irritation to dry out an enemies' eye. Whether or not these things happen is up to the victim, this jutsu is a mild nuisance over long periods of time.

Ikana decided to pursue a very aggressive approach, seeking to engage the enemy before they could assault and molest their group within their party, and as she blitzed forwards with her clone, they lunged in for the attack. Only for the man to easily evade the assault from two ends. Immediately upon landing on the ground, and overshooting her foe does the doppelganger turns upon its ankle in a pivot twist as it seeks to further engage. Up until he called out in an insult. And immediately did both Ikana's clone and herself feel an irritating sensation. A burning welling feeling in their eyes. There was a momentary infuriation, and with it, her eyesight blurred slightly.

Until that was a sword came slashing down upon her back. As this peon [presumably water clone] slashes down upon her back, it was fortunate that beneath her cloak, she wore a Kirigakure flak jacket, made from Waruichi silk. A wonderful piece of equipment that would ensure that whatever sword slash came down upon her, it wouldn't slice so deeply as to make a deep wound. Especially considering water clones tended to be weaker than their originals in terms of physical prowess. Assuming that it was. The blade comes slicing into her flesh all the same however, and in that moment, the pain was likely enough to snap her from the genjutsu she was just placed under. Leading to Ikana immediately twisting in a pivot motion to deliver a fierce returned slash of her own as the sword finishes its descent. 

In a swift speed, she retaliates with the Mikazukigiri. A violent and powerful crescent shaped slash aimed upwards at the taller figure towards their upper chest and lungs, as she looks to violate and enter its space. Assuming she's successful in properly slashing down the Mizu Bunshin, Ikana blinks furiously to clear her eyes of the remaining tears from her lashes. Her own Kage Bunshin remains closeby, to protect the original, as it holds its sword in one hand as the other remains clenched around the flash bomb it was given earlier, as tears begin to spill from its eyes. "He uses Genjutsu!" She yells out to her team, giving them some confirmation that he indeed has such tricks in his arsenal.

DESCRIPTION:

The user swings their sword in a single, large, crescent moon-shaped arc, which occurs with such ferocious velocity that the technique can be employed in situations where only a very limited time to react is available. The swing can be used to counter attacks from multiple opponents simultaneously.

Enhanced Chakra Reserves

Even before being granted the power of the Sanbi, Kyōbōna Ikana had possessed a large chakra pool. It seems that after its removal, she still has access to a larger than average reserve of chakra, allowing her to use more chakra in battle before requiring rest.



Enhanced Speed: With the usage of weights, the user of this SA has been able to increase their endurance, strength, and most importantly and most noticably their speed as a result of this type of training. Ikana as a result of training with weights is now able to move noticeably faster and can move now about as fast as a Taijutsu Primary of her rank level as well as some minor ability to maintain speed for a longer time and with some more weight on her person.



Enhanced Handseal Speed: Taking great care and interest in the arts of various ninjutsu and other arts requiring handseals, she has focused on the basic fundamentals in order to increase her overall handseal speed. This allows her to perform handseals as if she were a ninjutsu primary specialist, thus overall allowing her to perform handseals at an overall increased pace.



Suiton Mastery: Through intensive training in the art of Suiton and a variety of techniques, Ikana is capable of performing Suiton ninjutsu more effectively, with greater power and speed. It allows for her to also have a greater ease in utilizing Suiton ninjutsu that would otherwise require large amounts of water even in areas where there isn't any by pulling moisture from the air and generating it herself.



Enhanced Reflexes: Combining Ikana's battle experience and attention to detail, this allows for Ikana to move with an enhanced reaction time and a sense of intuition for danger. This leaves her moving with enhanced clarity and awareness of her surroundings and her opponent's movements.

Shō's gamble with the Kai technique turned out to be incorrect; there were no genjutsu illusions to dispel. The enemies' relentless assault left both Kyoko and Ikana with slight injuries. His miscalculation had led to Kyoko sustaining damage that could have been avoided if she wasn’t burdened with protecting him as well. Shō merely said a brief "I'm sorry" to Kyoko, knowing that this wasn't the time for a lengthy apology. He would deal with the apologies and reprimand from the higher-ups after they had dealt with their formidable opponent.

As for Ikana, she appeared to have fallen victim to a genjutsu. Although not particularly dangerous, it seemed to be mildly irritating. Shō decided it was likely something she could endure for the time being, and he trusted that Ikana would inform him if she needed it dispelled.

"Guess it’s time to step up." Feeling the need to start helping the team, Shō swiftly performed a series of hand seals, which resulted in two pairs of large fungi membranes emerging on his back, forming elongated diamond-shaped wings. These leathery wings would offer him added protection, reducing his reliance on his teammates for defence.

Standing on the very same spot, he performed another sequence of three simple hand seals, then shouted, "Keizokuteki no Jutsu" Those enemies who heard the incantation would find themselves ensnared in a genjutsu, but probably wouldn’t realise it was one, as Sho had attempted to conceal his technique by simulating it as an advanced version of Kirigakure no Jutsu.

The victims would see a thick fog seemingly rising from the ground. The illusion was skillfully crafted to create a realistic mist, complete with tactile sensations of an actual mist. With some proper manipulation, the illusion would rip away the enemies' vision and hearing, making Kyoko, Ikana, and Shō himself vanish entirely from their sight. From the enemy's perspective, they would be trapped in a huge mist.
